This in all regards will be negative feedback.

WTF did you do CCP?!?

Seriously... is the new launcher working as intented. I need to scroll down the EULA every single time I login or chance account. So for me as I'm using multiple characters and accounts it's a huge pain in my **************.

Who idea was this? it's one of the most crappiest ideas after the tag4sec thing.

And cause I'm curious. Are you planing on fixing this anyway or is there any chance to get the passwords to be saved somewhere or something. Cause this is just horrible. Takes me forever to login. Plus the UI in the launcher is horrible and so bizare.

Fix it please. The old one was way better in terms of how easy it was to use and how it looked like.

After centuries of debating and justifying... Break Cloaks tm

Another question.

The Devs started this thread, but they are not participating in it.

Are they not reading it, or do they not care?

Its the last option. If they cared they would not have brought this crap in in the first place.

They really don't give a ****.

Humm, my launcher is stuck at 3/4.....
I can still use the workaround with using the "other" exe file though..

The test server feedback is there for a reason.

On countless occasions, CCP have completely ignored feedback and suggestions from users pointing out significant problems with new “features”, and brought half-assed, poorly developed rubbish onto TQ.

This is yet another example.

There are two possible reasons for this:

1. CCP are too stupid to learn by mistake after mistake and continue to ignore the people who ACTUALLY play the game.
2. CCP do not give a **** about their customers and do what they want regardless.

I think it’s both.

As they have stopped reading this thread, its another example of point 2.

The new launcher looks great and everything but I have a few gripes about it.

I have multiple accounts and I use a keyboard macro to log in each account. It's convenient and lets me quickly log on all my characters simultaneously. The new launcher however, doesn't let me log in with my macros and I have to put in the password individually for each account. Its a minor nuisance, but a nuisance nonetheless and I find it very annoying every time I have to log in.

I would like it if there were a way to save your log-in credentials for each of your accounts and quickly launch a new window for specific accounts with just a click or two from the launcher. That seems like it would be a good workaround to this problem

Also, resetting all my graphical settings on all accounts is quite annoying as well..

Ignoring a threadnaught will not be beneficial for you as a whole.

I'd like to thank CCP for finally sharing the pain that is the Launcher.
I haven't been able to use the Launcher for at least 12 mths, It was a well known issue, and the repair tool/exefile.exe work around has "fixed" this issue for me.
Hopefully CCP will listen to the feedback, both positive and negative, and rollback the launcher to a useable version then actually listen to the test server feedback, but after the derpified inventory and some of the DEV comments I wont be holding my breath.

Why a switch on/off? Because the new animation doesn't add anything to gameplay and it's graphically annoying. In other words, it's worse than bad: it's useless. Simple as that. - Kina Ayami

Feedback on the new launcher and the login process. First, it only remembers 1 account name, which leads to you having to type any additional ones every time you want to launch the game with them. Second, when you write your account name that wasn't remembered and press tab to move to the password section, it overwrites the account name with the one account name it had in the memory. In it's current functionality the launcher is inferior to the log-in screen and just make the process of loggin in more slower and troublesome then it needs to be.

Glossing over the rants about CCP not listening to their players (not exactly news) I thought I'd add my voice to the large number of others who also don't like the new launcher.

It's not _just_ resistance to change (although there is a fair element of that).

The new Launcher looks cluttered, amateurish and just feels like it was designed by an overenthusiastic spaniel. Lots of spiffing effects with things fading / sliding / glowing etc but taken together they're just a bit annoying and ...well... naff.

As far as functionality goes it feels like it takes a click or two more than it should to get into an account, particularly when running two in parallel. Trivial I suppose but still a contributor to the overall feeling of "oh ffs can we just have the old launcher back please?"

The behind-the-scenes changes sound sensible - although it would be nice to be able to switch characters without needing to relog the account - but from a user experience point of view this definitely feels like a step back not a step forwards. As with ship spinning I think you might find that a lot of players were surprisingly attached to their old login screen with music, cool animation and minimal clutter.

Keep up the good work!

I use multiple copies of the client via a file system fork.

On the old launcher, each fork kept a separate account history, so each desktop shortcut would default to a specific user account. The new one lists the same account at all times.

The very strange part is each fork still opens on its assigned monitor correctly. So it is aware of the forks. This is very strange behavior.

Ooooh a wild feedback thread! In MY EVE?

So now that I have spotted at last the official feedback thread after spending last day moaning about the new launcher everywhere else please allow me to express a great displeasure directed at this new launcher disaster thing.

It is slow and makes using multiple accounts through it unreasonably crumblesome. I shudder think what people with just an HDD will have to suffer through when its so slow on a SSD dedicated to only and only EVE client. Crusical m4, 64 GB one if you must know so decent enough specced. Only EVE client on it.

The guys with just 2 accounts were moaning about it in my corp. I have 6 to log in and let me say to I feel strong emotions towards this launcher. Not that positive ones. Fortunately it is currently possible to bypass the launcher but I'm horrified that one day I might have no other option than to go through this thing if I want to play EVE.

More specifically - number of unneeded clicks - I have to press "play" after I have already entered my username and password ? Really ? Would I do that if my intention would not be to play EVE ? And you can press "switch" only after you have waited for a while for the "play" button to appear if you want to log in another account as well.

Now I'm not opposed to your desire to use launcher but really - if you tempt us with all these power of 2 offers, dual char training, etc, then please use a launcher that is multi account friendly. That out of the way I do actually like the current in-client login screen quite well. Only reason to be willing to endure the launcher was that we were promised easier character switching and I assumed that included proper multi account support. That would be after all a logical thing to do in my opinion.

Here, sanity... niiiice sanity, come to daddy... okay, that's a good sanity... THWONK! GOT the bastard.

Least ya'll can get into eve. . . Nothing works here: last thing Eve did was update the launcher on 21st. . . since then, no Eve.

Eve repair does nothing, click either shortcuts (safemode and desktop) results in a 'thinking' cursor then.. nothing.... I've reinstalled twice; Loads fine, then straight to 'updating launch' and. . . still no response, can I ask for my 10gig bandwidth back please?!

WTF did you guys do?? I've got 2 paid/paying accounts hanging off this client! SRSLY!

Downloaded it twice from eveonline.com/download. I'm now having the DL the full client a 3rd time, at least that 'runs'. Sure it just jumps straight onto 'updating launcher' and sends it straight back where I was, but here's to hoping. >.<

edit: WTB web-based skill-changes, ****-ups like this are pathetic!

Blink Have you tried re-installing windows. Surely a clean install would fix it.

Anyway on more serious note. If it generates any logs file a bugreport also.

Launcher (and its dev team) -> bin

Yep it's that bad, great job CCP, if you can do it wrong, that's how you do it!
Sad

Could Klang take the (now rotting) pizzas & the launcher out as they leave the building plz.

yeah settings in cloud is a totally stupid idea. WHY would you not want settings being saved locally on the individual computer when they apply ONLY to this individual computer (screen resolution, window layout etc).

As a general rule the launcher should be kept slick and simple. It shouldnt store something in/ load from the cloud, authenticating something, calculating prime numbers or heal cancer - just ffs CHECK FOR UPDATES and start EVE! THATS IT CCP, NO MORE!

I truly hope the Programers and Developers are reading this forum, I do not recall anything that has had such a reaction.

STELLER COUNCIL, How about you guys actually show some balls for once, do the job you are elected to do and get this fixed - NOW!

That said, just from what CCP have done to the Launcher, it is now very clear to everyone who plays Eve that CCP has one or more software programmers that clearly have no function in actually contributing anything useful to the game.

Instead of fixing problems that really need fixing, for example: in Faction War - remove off grid boosting or making non-militia members take on Militia "War Target" Status for say 48 hours if they fleet with a Militia member that is involved with any Fation War plexing or combat activity, or developing a T3 version of the Orca with a couple of swap-out-able subsystems that would allow you to reconfigure the volumes of the ship's various holds or add a compressing bay like a Rorq, but possibly smaller cubes, or say add a couple high slots for a couple of strips. Getting off track . . .

Guys, It was not broken! Did you never learn the old rule - If it's not broken, Don't try to fix it! Fix the things that matter, don't stuff around wasting your time and our subscriptions stuffing up things that are not important or required. You just show the whole community that you have lost touch with the community and take no notice of what is happening outside one or two what you would consider (no one else does) key influences full of nothing but their own importance.

That said, I do acually like the move of the logging in boxes to the left side, but only because it gives me a longer drop down list.

Having to re-agree to the terms every time I login for the first time each day SUCKS, It slows down the whole process, and very clearly from the 127 pages in this forum, it puts everyone else off as well.

I should only need to agree to the terms once, and re-agree only if there is a change to them. Do you re-sign for you bank loan every day before you are allowed to access funds in your account? It's the same thing anyway you wish to paint it.

The Launcher should bring up my instance window and soon as I type in my password and press enter. There is no justification for some idiot to add extra stupid and useless steps to bring up the game window. Does your car require you to get in the drivers seat, turn the ignition to the On position, then get out and open and shut every door and the boot before you get back in and turn the key to start? Same thing!

If they cannot justify their employment and contribute something actually useful to the game, CCP must justify their employment at all.

Request CCP clearly identify, for the whole community, which ******** software programmer(s) it is that clearly have no function in actually contributing anything useful to the game.

I do not know what is problem with you guys and launcher, it is working pretty good for me, it had some connection issues at the beginning but even those did not prevent me playing EVE.

Won't happen. . . why? because they most likely don't even know where the fault is, it'll all come down to someone doing +Z in stead of A% for a really stupid insignificant yet bottle-necking piece of code.
