I'm 300% down for this. This game needs a hero, and high res texture is it.

As per his Interview on EvE Radio :

When we look back at some of the stuff that we have done like UI scaling the number of people that use it is so minute that we probably shouldn't have done it. HD would be nice but I don't know if it'd be worth it. I'm not sure that that would be terribly good. We're trying to maximize the benefit for the most people.

The other thing for us is that we have people that play on laptops, people from areas of the world where you may not have the newest and best equipment available. So we have to make sure that we're catering to them. And I do think that our specs are fairly low for the type of game that we are. And I think that's alright. The more people that are here the merrier.



so basically no were not getting a HD texture pack because some poor people have crap laptops and like the POS debacle he thinks it won't effect enough people :P

As long as its optional the people on bad computers don't have to use it.

This better not be an accurate quote. It was made quite clear that the whole idea is for an optional texture pack. It was already offered by Art, and they said the textures are already there. It just needs to be delivered!

I refuse to believe Soundwave is this thickheaded.

I am wondering if this is happening any time soon. The devs and art team seemed very happy to oblige when it was talked about last fanfest. They said all they had to worry about was a way of getting to it, and that the art assets already existed.. Would be nice to get an update.

Would like to see HD textures please.

Also, please HD the clothes for characters; faces look good but don't fit well with the los res clothing.
