Hi Resolution Texture Pack - Show Your Support!!!

CCP has stated they have hi res textures for almost all assets that are 4 times the detail level compared to what is in the game now. They have said all we need to do so prove to them that we want them and we will get it.

For those of you worried about your graphics cards melting, this would be a completely optional extra download just for those who want to make their Eve look the best it can.

So if you want an optional extra hi res download pack, voice your support here!

Lets see if we can make us a high resolution threadnaught!!!!

Did they actually say this would be an optional download, or is that part speculation?

I'd be all for it if it were optional and I could easily add and remove it at will, say, from the launcher.

Yes they actually said an optional extra download that could be added or removed. The art team would love to do it. They just need player support to convince the decision makers that its worthwhile.

would be awesome, even with v3 when you look at the ships up close the textures right now arent really sharp. please give us high res textures.

Would this be anything but unanimous? I mean, there are no drawbacks for the end-user, assuming it's completely optional and can be disabled at will.

Well there would obviously be some development costs involved to ensure the client won't break memory limits, development of a patcher to add/remove the textures, etc.

So, this being the eve forums, I'm sure there is at least one bitter sad sack out there who will demand that art team not waste there time on useless visuals when "everyone" plays on minimum graphics anyway, the artist should be fixing sov mechanics instead, lol.

+1 I think there are quite a few people who have +£100 Graphics Card's so it would be nice if we could use them.
