CCP has stated they have hi res textures for almost all assets that are 4 times the detail level compared to what is in the game now. They have said all we need to do so prove to them that we want them and we will get it.

For those of you worried about your graphics cards melting, this would be a completely optional extra download just for those who want to make their Eve look the best it can.

So if you want an optional extra hi res download pack, voice your support here!

Lets see if we can make us a high resolution threadnaught!!!!

I have one doubt..
Does texture files size counts toward the limit of allocated memory per client?

Definitely as an option - because options are good, right?

Actually, this and EVE running as 64 bit application would be the true milestone for Second Decade.

..and sure would address allocated memory issues.
Because if you are still on 32 bit architecture in 2013 you are doing it wrong.

I suggest to limit your bandwidth cost while providing the HD res that you release a torrent or some kind of P2P distribution for this huge download.

That would most certainly be the pièce de résistance for them wouldn't it?, almost a (long overdue) sort of coup de grace for the memory issue, and a step forward toward almost ultimate technical stability in the future.

win-win for everyone.
