They're actually already working on that- a client that only downloads what it needs to display as you encounter it- it would be slower, but a good way to implement things. They actually said that that would allow HD textures to be implemented more easily as well Smile

CCP pull Devs from those projects to complete stuff on EVE. WoD died because of it.

Pretty sure WoD died from other things. Like having to make a game that isn't built by your players and not being able to.

Pretty sure most of the developers working on that got the sack.

If you somehow think CCP now has MORE resources to work on anything but minor tweaks...please pass the Kool-Aid.

It would be nice to have maximum graphics available to those of us who can handle the truth. CCP, I feel like with this much support you can't not do it.


Still, with all the effort going into ship redesigns I suppose your art team is a tad busy these days.

You could always outsource.

It's not about the art-team. They have stated themselves that everything is ready from their side. It's just a matter of getting the resources to ship it and finding a way to do it so it won't break someone's old computer.

I'm pretty sure they were going to solve that with the on-demand client.
The whole thing was for it to be an optional download, as far as I'm aware.

Also...the icky lines on the ships...any line...doesn't matter looks like stair-steps

((Who doesn't like getting a screen-full of Engine when they warp? :P )

Took 5 months off and came back to a prettier game. It could look prettier though, slap some more lipstick on it. Also the textures.
