We do have several breakfast menus, but I would recommend you our WWLFD (What Was Left From Dinner) menu if you're on budget and miss your homely habits.

The very sun of heaven seemed distorted when viewed through the polarising miasma welling out from this sea-soaked perversion, and twisted menace and suspense lurked leeringly in those crazily elusive angles of carven rock where a second glance shewed concavity after the first shewed convexity.

Spain, 1981. A heavy music band had a sudden hit and they jokingly made a videoclip for it, in their very own way, filming ordinary stuff and places in their hometown (Vallecas, in Madrid).

I actually grew in a country that looked like this until the mid-80s...

Sheimi answers:

- Gggoooz efffn, m-mmee isshtuznfff

Then a friendly hand locks a tractor beam on Sheimis' Dramiel and tugs her ship back to the docking bay...*

So castizo, that begining. Are you from Madrid as well? That video does bring memories of growing up in the 80s, though I'm from Moncloa, so I used to go to the underworld of jevi bars at Los Bajos de Argüelles / Aurrerá during their glory days ... such a wild chaotic urban zoo, drenched in smoke, riffs and cheap beer, I miss those days.

I still live around the area, but Los Bajos have been cleaned and sanitized for many years now - hell, they even put a police station there. Cops and bars don't mix well. *eyes dart around* No Concord at the Greater Fool Bar, I believe? *takes a long slow drag*

Not Madrid, completely. Barcelona instead. But those places in the video don't look different than the place where i grew. I have memories of going to the beach by taking a bus, then going to the railway tracks, then walk on a railroad bridge over a sewer pipe, then cross some waste grounds and then eventually reach the beach... with dirty sand and then bath keeping an eye on whatever the waves could bring ashore. What?

(As an anecdote: us Spaniards growing up with those Conguitos ads may take them for granted, but a few years ago some USians I know came across them, and thought they were incredibly racist and offensive P It's funny how our cultural backgrounds shape our perceptions)

Well, of course, all in all, how many black people where in Spain at the time? They were mostly "Americanos", that is, people from another galaxy with a special status. Ecuatorial Guinea never had a deep impact in Spanish view of racial discrimination as we already were busy with our favorite minority, the gipsies. And E.G. being such a tiny piece of country, Morocco caught all the colonial attention (but the opposite didn't worked... you barely could find a Moroccan who speaks a decent Spanish, whereas Guineans speak an amazingly perfect Spanish).

In many ways, to the old farts form late Francoism and the Transition, the change we witnessed in our childhood was amazing. Yet we also we had time to experience some real Spain and get vaccinated against it, unlike the younger ones from the good times, and so the current disaster rings a bell in our mind as something we could and should expect from this sorry land, its unfortunate dwellers and the disgraceful bunch who always manages to float to the top.
