nope. it seems to usually happen around gates when we warp through. which is annoying for those of us playing logi.

Brief explanation - The drake without bracket on the left-center screen was my fleet member, GonRin. He was on grid and fighting, but his bracket and watchlist were disappeared middle of the fight. Also in this fight I had enemy bracket disappearing as well, which I wish I captured it, but I forgot to do so. My bad.

I dont see any bracket at all on your screenshot... that Drake could be mistaken for wrong bracket settings, but I will take your word for that he just vanished from brackets :)

Thanks.

I've tried my beacon idea, and that's not it. Now I'm thinking that it might be because the standings sometimes fail... do you guys have neutral (not contacts) brackets visible?

could you look into the serious instance where someone appears to lose all standings on the overview, even if the person is in fleet if will look like he is a neutral
do you mean that you have them in the overview with correct standing/color and then all of a sudden they lose it? (I've only seen this my self in local where people just didn't load with the correct color the first time, but didn't really change from color to non-color)
Buf if it's the case where people actually lose their color, and you guys have neutral brackets filtered out, my guess would be that it's because of the same issue.

For the last question, no, they don't suddenly lose the standing, it's a very known bug down here in 0.0 I am sure many can testify to this... it's the most deadly bug of them all if your flying in large fleets, when jumping into new systems sometimes your character will load without alliance or corporation information in the overview, so even if your in the same fleet as everyone, you will suddenly show up on the overview (for everyone!) as neutral, even if you everyone has their overview set to not show fleet members... you can see why this is deadly as people will try to kill the person very fast, often it has to be called out on comms that the person is in fact blue... (they will still show up as blue in local chat)... is CCP not aware of this bug? because everyone else knows about it

now for the first question I have "show all brackets" on all the time, I have made sure even people with no standing has a neutral standing icon, and everything... on the overview, the person that loses his bracket is still visable with the correct standings, so it's nothing to do with that either (and I was already pretty sure it had nothing to do with beacons as I have only ever noticed it around gates, in systems without beacons)

if I had to choose which bug to get fixed first, the first one I mentioned in this reply is much much more serious, and you could ask the playerbase how many experience this.. http://eve-search.com/thread/129613-1 here is someone else mentioning it

and here about overview bug https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1902956#post1902956
here is someone describeing a situration with brackets disapearing also https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1928058#post1928058
another post about overview bug https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1883546#post1883546
heres one of many replies about it in 1.2 feedback https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1811219#post1811219 (the bug is older than this)

heres one of the first mentions from the new forum about overview bug causing blues to get shot https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=153110#post153110

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1875457#post1875457

hmm on second thought, ti's hard to find out when this was first mentioned, I just know most of us have experienced it in when in large fleets traveling around... but I even noticed it in small fleets, when in a area with plenty of people in nearby systems

I'm not 100% sure of this but seems this happens more often and repeatedly in systems with those.
You just made me noticed it since the fights where this often happened to me were systems where those were on grid. But happens also in systems without stations (players owned) NPC beacons or even regular cyno beacon.

Is there some logs manipulation procedure so eventually when this happens I can immediately copy/pasta and send it to you?

The in game bug report tool saves the logs that are required just start one and take a picture when it happens. write it up and then make sure you are safe before submiting the file becouse it freezes the client.

It's dumb that you have to do this. IMO the bug reporter should be able to take files from your screenshot folder to add to a bug report so you don't have to go through the clunky interface to take a screenshot when it happens. It would be much safer and easier that way.

You can attach screenshots to a bug report after you have filed it. You don't have to use the screenshot feature in the bug reporting tool.

Yeah, I had at least heard about it at work, but it's something that is very hard to track down. I thought it only happened the way it does, that is that they don't lose the color but rather don't load with it in the first place, but I wasn't sure after your previous comment. Thanks for the links! I'll take a look at them later, and sorry if it's covered there, but do the colorless people in the overview get their correct color if you load the overview tab again?

That's very good to know... then I can rule that out.

"that is that they don't lose the color but rather don't load with it in the first place" this is true, from what we notice when it happens, the pilot it happens to doesn't load corporation, alliance or any other related infomation to his character, even fleet details are not loaded, it only really happens on a session change, like when someone undocks, jumps to a new system from a stargate or jump bridge, or titan bridge, could even happen when someone logs in in theory, but never seen that happen... I have never seen it happen randomly after someone already loaded space, I have noticed that when it happens on a gate jump, that the guy is even visable in space before decloaking...

To find out how it happens, you need alot of people to increase the chance of it happening... it seems very like to happen when 200-500 people are jumping between systems a few times :) you should try it out with your thin clients

oh and no, they don't get their correct standing back if you switch overview tab, as it seems to be a serverside bug, it stays like that until the pilot relogs, or perhaps jumps out of system and back again, :D and yeah I can imagine it's very hard to pin down the reason for this bug, because it requires a lot of people to trigger or a certain amount of server load, but I can confirm I seen it happen with less than 10-20 people also

Sorry for your confusion Lol

The reason you can't see any bracket on the screenshot is because I wanted to zoom the Drake so that you guys can see there was a Drake where I can't see its bracket, as well as its HP bar on the watchlist. I just wanted to make it clear. Now listening to you, I understand your confusion P

To answer your question, you might able to see the neutral standing marks on my local chat window and overview, if it means anything to you and can be an answer to your question. (I'm not 100% sure it is directly related with bracket Roll) But yes, I should able to see every single ships' brackets in normal situations. I've been playing this game quite long, I know how I set my overview so you can rule that out.

new bug report created, id 145631, request to forward to karkur added

i am using "show all brackets"

switching to another setting does not help

the pilot is either in my alliance or +10

edit: logserver log (i was an idiot and started a logserver from the wrong eve folder, hope it still helps, i clicked a lot on guys with missing brackets, hope it helps !)

edit: the guys with missing brackets from the logserver were mostly from other alliances and +5 or +10, sorry for the confusion, was pretty busy at that point :(

yay, I'm pretty sure I found where the brackets are removed, and the reason makes sense considering some errors I saw in the TQ error list today.... still don't know exactly why the situation comes up, but at least it's something P

Full logs from logserver would still be very nice to get Big smile
