Keep on being vocal about what you want to see happening in EVE.

We're not stopping work on anything, just not allowed to talk as openly as we have been and would like to about what we have been working on. I appreciate that's frustrating to everyone but we are going to continue working with everyone here at CCP to get something out there that shows you what we've been up to. It's important to me and the rest of Team Avatar too because we are proud of our work, think it's cool and want you guys to see it to demonstrate that we aren't all mouth and no trousers.

The year was 2006. We saw this...

then in 2009 we saw this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n41s1Iox18A

in 2011 we got this...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_eoo8-7bowo

it is more than half-way to 2013 - almost 7 years later - 7 years(it takes less time to make a whole new MMO) and we're still waiting on this...

Think this sums up nicely just how much of a joke this has become.

Right now they are working with basic concepts for game play.

They came up with a reasonable concept and a prototype to test.

The key word being prototype.

They may very well have found that their were some flaw's in the basic concept that require a change... or they may very well have found a way to may the game play even more unique to the EVE universe and don't want to make that information public just yet.

We knew going in this was going to take a while to get right, don't get impatient (and silly) about it now.

your guess is as good as any

Bc of the sudden decision of not allowing the blog TA made by some management pricks without even telling, why .We are left in the dark about it.......again

There's little point releasing a dev blog about something that isn't going to be even close to a playable release in the next 12 months, and CCP has a poor record when they've done similar 'long term forecasting' in the past. And going by this thread, all they'd get in response is posts about "management pricks" and "ccp lying to us" and "lets shoot statues and unsubscribe in protest".

i didn,t ask for a forecast, i did ask for something that was promised and ready to post

The thing that was promised and ready to post was a forecast.

Given that the prototype work has already been shown at a number of fan gatherings, and can be found on youtube, I would have thought it would make sense to do a dev blog since it's already been made somewhat public already

Its another way to interact, Grumpy Eve players don't want that cause it will give players hiding in a station something to do.

Can't wait untill when Eve online is Freemium. WiS only 10$, SP booster for one month 15$, DPS Boost 2$, EHP Boost 2$ Real money trading hub! Cosmeitic ship skins 15$ --> If you don't pay **for a product, you ARE the **product.

Yah... I had a bit of a schadenfreude chuckle at the expense of Team Avatar. I mean, those guys are chomping at the bit to do it. They are so excited about it, and are so creative and through in their design methodology (from what I can tell / imho). I mean I'm disappointed corporate is so out of the loop and impeding progress... but I can't even begin to imagine how disappointed Team Avatar was about getting muzzled. The Devs in general get it and have been doing a great job on EvE of late. Now perhaps it's time for capsuleers to aim their blasters at the pencilneck VC companies that actually own CCP.

I wonder what would happen if a collection of players bought shares of CCP. If they were publicly traded I think the CSM could take on a whole new meaning.

Keep fighting the good fight Team Avatar. I for one would love to see you get your way. Big smile

Can't get this thought out of my head.

Dust players, new to the EVE universe, are going to be wandering about
stations, visiting with each other, making conections, planning battles. They
will likely be just socializing too.

So, at what point do they interact with Classic EVE players? Will they have to
contact them through the forums?

Will they even bother trying to get to know any Classic EVE players, if they
have to use forums or text chat while they themselfs can walk about chatting
with voice?

It is going to be a tragic mistake if Classic EVE players and Dust514 players
are not able to walk on stations together and connect from day one of the
Dust release. So much opportunity will be lost.

Especially as they will supposedly be able to be in the same corps as us (although maybe not right away..) and call us in for orbital strikes. At least we will be sharing chat channels and eve voice.

As a WiS feature, a common "War room" would be nice.

But.. Its not clear if they will see each other anywhere other than the surface of a planet. In station they get quarters much like our CQ. Their door may well be locked too.

They have social areas. Sad

While we, who have paved the way for them, will need to wait 2-3 more years
for such a feature.

It`s such a frustrating load of crap.

Really? I hope you did not violate a NDA there....

But maybe getting us into those same areas is going to happen when Dust goes public, and the reason for the dev blog disappearing.

NDA or not, it is public that dust bunnies will get bars to gather and play Slay (that board game CCP showed in Fanfest 2010 Incarna demo) as a part of the PSN content. If i was in the mood to feel any more bitter about WiS, this fact alone would fill a good chunk of my cup. Roll

Now just tell us that dust bunnies will have a right click menu to swap their clothes as opposed to entering CC, redo their char and redo their avatar to as much as change their shoes, and I may actually become more bitter about WiS...

CCP: "You see, we wanted EVE to be like this, but instead we gave you a prison cell and delivered Incarna to dust bunnies..." Twisted

Its funny, but in one sense, Dust514 makes social areas a certainty, as EVE and Dust players will need to meet somewhere to socialise and create their evil empires.

I'm guessing that this won't happen until the CREST interface is done.

Maybe the Devs should consider doing a Kickstarter fund for Incarna, we donate Aurum to the project (in return for exclusive in game rewards) and if we reach the target goal CCP implements a feature for Incarna.

Wait, so you donate Aurum (remember, most of that 5500 everyone got is unspent). You get stuff equal in value to that Aurum (exclusivity = High Price). Then CCP spends more money on Incarna for you.

I don't think you're clear on how "Fundraising" works.

A kickstarter would be fine. But I think you're underestimating how much money it would require to hire a staff to put out more Incarna faster without taking more resources away from FIS.
