glad you made a blog about nothing.

less graphics and more gameplay would be good but no matter what we do .... seems you are not listening

It's great that CCP is fixing what we've asked to be fixed, and even better that they aren't listening to you. Right now we don't need more gameplay, we need improvements on existing gameplay

I noticed the Opux Luxury Yacht - that looks good! Looks like an enclosed garden on top!

I wonder if / when that will be coming out?

Um, it's already been out, it's a special edition ship, pretty rare at this point.

So we will be able to either directly swap ships in the hangar, or we leave ship and instead of being in a pod in the hangar we go to the balcony did I read that right?

I'm still wondering why things such as turret looks and turret effects have to be changed.
Aren't there other thing CCP can do to add new features to the game?

For example they added T3 cruisers, where are the T3 frigs? Things like this are interesting, not
the new looks of my turrets.
Also u guys can fix the bugs such as my windows that keep jumping from 1 side of my screen to the other
every time i undock.

Because CCP designers and management don't have a clue about priorities.

The reason we are seeing action now is only because it's an emergency measure to stem the haemorrhaging of subscriptions. A lot of fanfare will be made about these upcoming changes but they are only token gestures and lip service being made to improve FiS after years of neglect and ignorance of blatant issues which the community has been shouting about to deaf ears.

Good to see that CCP can make a good decision every year or so. Removing hanger funtionality was one of the stupidest things you've ever done.

However,

LOL ... ok so let me translate.. sort of.

NetFlix

Seriously ... this was what we wanted, suggested, requested, and protested for. It's nice that you've learned it’s not what we the company wants, it’s what the paying customer wants ...

So now how to get word out to all the rage quitters? Blink

I for one am very happy about this. Ship spinning (with the UI functionality that it had) and the old turret icons REALLY REALLY needed to come back. The new turret icons were not icons at all, they were impossible to see and distinguish between. They were just fuzzy little gray/brown/black blobs that helped no one.

If we could get some more functionality back that has been "upgraded" such as the ability to see who is making a broadcast in the fleet broadcast history, that would be great.

Overall a very nice update.

... in lowercase its great, but in uppercase, "o" in the screenshots is not distinct enough from zero, a dot or slash in the zero would make it unmistakable.

I have to say, that I've been very happy to read your recent posts, Torfi. It feels good to see the company heading back in the 'right' direction. I remember reading a PC Gamer article a good while back, talking about EVE's history, and talking about people like yourself slaving on code through the night and sleeping on floors to achieve your dreams of making EVE get off the ground.

That resonated with me, and it's good to see you taking a 'hands on' approach, once again.

Anyway, in regards to questions for a boarding animation, given how a dramatic event that is, you can always go and watch this, which we made a while ago. It was supposed to underscore how painful and nasty it is for a capsuleer to emerge from his pod and be nothing but a vulnerable weak piece of clonemeat.

We opted for no cut scene ingame, simply because it happens so often. Way back in beta we had this beautiful 2001-esque docking sequence, every time you wanted to dock with a station. Ofc, after docking a few times, it became tedious as hell, so we decided to sacrifice immersion on the altar of usability. Same applies for a pod-exit cut scene.

To be honest, I don't think there could be a better time really to revisit the "Dare to be bold." cutscene when the game starts up... We have new avatar technology, new nebulas - that's where I think the pod-decanting video would be of most benefit. New people would benefit from a better understanding of the lore, and vets can switch it off as usual...

And speaking purely personally; "nanites" might be a handy 'get out of jail free' way of explaining the lack of a pod room, due to development constraints/whatever - but the current deal, the pod and stepladder is, I feel, a disaster. When time allows, please deploy the pod room properly.

Incidentally, thank you for showing that the Caldari CQ's are progressing. I think the avatar is a touch too big/corridor too small, at present, but it's good to see the progress - I just really hope that the 'glass' you have now is just a 'placeholder', and that the side-lighting will come close to capturing the concept art, which was pretty stunning...

And who would you recommend that 'we' direct our (constructive) comment to at CCP, regarding Nex clothing...?

CCP, why do you keep being stupid?

The rendered turrets are fine in the thumbnails. What you need to fix is make those thumbnails clickable to open the preview window. That or put the eye icon back. Having to open the Info window first and THEN preview is stupid.

Well, when expectations are low enough, even removing work you've done can be an improvement.

Your on the right track CCP, now just remove the macro-transactions and you'll get more people on your side.
