Everybody hated this part. Everybody, except perhaps for the captain, who wouldn't be able to feel anything, snug and comfy as he was in his pod.

He always imagined someone deep in the bowels of the ship closing a huge, old fashioned knife switch at the silent command from the captain. Yet in reality the jump activation process was nothing like that, of course. It ought to have been started like that though, the end result certainly warranted it.

The first indication to the crew that the jump sequence had been initiated, was the lockout of all non-essential equipment from the ship's power grid. A fraction of a second later the lights almost dimmed, as the capacitor dumped its energy into the reactors. The tokamaks screamed, as they were forced beyond all reason and engineering safety limits to fuse tons of atomized Helium, almost yet not quite not melting their delicate interior surfaces in the process. Somehow they still managed to multiply the energy from the capacitor by a thousandfold and more without instantly disintegrating, and it would be hours before the automatic repair systems had patched most of the abuse suffered by the ship's energy systems. Hours before they could jump again if events didn't go according to plan.

The plasma ablation emitters on one side of the hull began beaming titanic quantities of hard gamma rays toward a single, nearby point in space. The energy density of spacetime instantly jumped to infinity, and the delicate vacuum energy balance of spacetime was broken, further multiplying the available energy for what was to come. An utterly black softball sized event horizon formed around the tiny singularity, which began evaporating from the uneven Hawkings radiation. Anybody foolish enough to be outside the massive hull would have been instantly cooked to the bone.

The crew felt the slight lurch, as the whole ship stretched fractionally in the gravitational tidal forces from the singularity. He barely had time to think of the effect the energy field would have to anything or anybody near their point of arrival. Any moment now.

The Archon capital class ship Jumped.

Thanks for giving us the features you took away back. While you're at it can you please give us a font that places a diagonal line inside the 0 so we can tell them from O's?

Thanks!

The best thing about these changes is that instead of forcing players into Incarna, it is forcing CCP to make Incarna such a compelling and fun experience that people will WANT to opt into it.

While I personally prefer the Old Turret Icons, there are those out there who like the new ones.

How about retaining both types as a Toggle Option in the Display Settings in the ESC Menu so that people can customise their client display with whichever type they prefer? Even if you made the alternative icons (Or other possible future GUI Changes) available as a separate Optional Client Patch File rather than being packaged with the Main Client Download to keep the client size down.

Please Note: I am not a Programmer so am not totally sure of how easy this idea would be to implement. Could be the beginning of Customisable Client GUI's for the Future however.

Glad to see the original icons appearing. I hope to see fancy new drawn icons in the future.

Btw we need 3 options while in station: Boarded, CQ and Door Blink

A welcome return of the old, as much as I embrace CQ myself it should not have come at the expense of someone else so arbitrarily.

I like the new CQ hallway. I'm also wondering if we'll get to pick the race of CQ we use or if it'll just be whatever station we're in.

The shader adjustments definitely make people less dull looking, like in the character creator.

I'm happy to hear about the return of more intuitive icons. The new ones don't look -bad-, they just don't really much look like anything. I wouldn't care if they changed the icons again as long as they sort of tell me whether I'm using a laser or a tractor beam.

It's based on station. Which begs the question if they'll do anything different for pirate faction stations like Sansha or Blood Angels...

I love reading these threads :) We have the normal mix of responses on the changes represented:

Spinning Ships?
1) Finally! My life is now complete!
2) You shouldn't have messed with it to begin with.
3) Why are you wasting time on this? (possibly because it is something we overwhelmingly yelled at them about, i.e. making CQ optional)

New Font?
1) Cool! About time.
2) The zeros are still broken.
3) Why are you wasting time on this? (possibly because over the life of eve, this has been the most complained about problem)

New Cyno Effect?
1) \o/
2) It won't be as good as Red Moon Risings
3) Why are you wasting time on this? (maybe because the person who would have worked on this (graphics designers, etc) would not have been working on the kind of changes you want anyway, get over it)

(also known as the optimistic, the bitter and the screw you, i only care about how I play the game and the hell with the rest of you)

Either way, looks great! Consider me cautiously optimistic. Thanks for the new changes, keep em coming. I also very much look forward to changes you have in store for actually flying in space, but both are necessary.

Um this means that we Cladari can ask for actual Missile Lunchers on Ships now?

Oh i hope that comes soon, but I think that's set for like a year or two from now on their to do list.

And ships that sail the sea

But the best ships are Spaceships

These seem like good changes. I don't have much use personally for the captains quarters or any 'walking in stations' content, but there are no doubt people who do and will enjoy the improved graphical quality. The return of previous station UI functionality, and improved UI graphics, are a win in my book.

Whoah, I wasn't expecting such a positive feedback. We are simply fixing some things that we broke so that we can move forward. Tbh we've had our head somewhat placed in the lowermost segment of the large intestine and are finally coming out for air.

I can say if I wasn't already cautiously optimistic, this would have put me there. As others have said it has been a long summer waiting, not for the actual changes in my case but for a sign that someone in CCP was paying attention and hearing and understanding what was being said. I (unlike others) do not despise the idea of WiS or Incarna (even if I am unlikely to participate in it until there is actual game content), it was the lack of concern for the feelings and desires of the customer that was worrying me the most.

Thank you. And its good to have the possibilities re-open up.

Excellent news, though it sounds like it will still be months until we get it back on TQ Ugh

Seems like the horrible decline in player activity and presumably subscriptions made some decision-makers think.
