There's a rumor that Break-A-Wish Foundation is engaging in Awoxxing now. Sad to hear, I would have thought they were above such activity and that they'd use the war dec system if they wanted to take down a corp. I guess it could be the addition of The Filthy Few (formerly of Pursuit of Happiness) to their number.

Bored with only a few active wars instead of the numbers you saw with PoH? Or is it that Break-A-Wish isn't who I thought they were?

Still - awoxxing?

I would like to clarify your post for you.

Firstly, The Filthy Few was the main corp for Pendulum of Doom alliance and they were their own entity. As far as I know, they've never been a part of Pursuit of Happiness (though we have had several Pursuit members among our ranks for various periods).

Secondly, we've awoxxed for years. This one as my favorite.

Thirdly, we gank too. So really, we're the bottom of the scum pit because we engage in everything you would consider nefarious.

So to reiterate, we war dec, we awox, and we gank and we'll bring down a corp. Sounds like we're doing it right!

Admittedly, The Filthy Few weren't in PoH very long, but I did see them with the Pursuit of Happiness tag and, at the time, didn't check how long they'd been there.

As to the Awoxxing, guess you guys aren't what I thought you were at all. My bad. I'll quit thinking of you as the guys with the amazing success ratio who are THE elite mercenaries in High-Sec. I figured you had fun on alts when Break-A-Wish couldn't find a battle they were sure to win, but I thought you would still be doing war decs. And, btw, I think the Filthy Few are hurting your success ratio - it's down into the 60's where it used to be the 70's.

I'm not sure how awoxxing reduces our success ratio...or impacts our abilities as Mercs in any way. Generally our awoxing isn't even related to our wars and is usually done on alts.

Of course Awoxxing doesn't affect your success ratio! (Especially when you kind of HAVE to do it with alts.)

But it was that success ratio that set Break-A-Wish distinctly apart from the rest of the mercs in hi-sec -- and made me a bit of an admirer. I'm just sad that I can't have that admiration anymore because giving your target a 24 hour notice that you're going to be coming after them isn't at all the same as telling them you're their friend and then blowing up their fancy mission ship. Gankers rank above Awoxxers in my book.

I suppose you think the same of James Bond? Working behind the scenes of a corp to bring it to its knees is a huge part of EvE and always will be. Some of the most famous kills in the game revolve around AWOXing. (Guiding Hand, here's lookin..)

Every major power in the real world relies on intelligence services, both legal (diplo) and illegal ( spies! ) to provide front line commanders with up-to-the-second intelligence and opportunities to cripple the foe without firing a shot.

Anyone can fire a gun. Only an operative can infiltrate and cripple.

If anything, you should admire them MORE.

Admire them more? Geez, I know what kind of game EVE is and I'm certainly not telling you how to play. But most Awoxxers aren't James Bond. They aren't crippling a corporation for any grand purpose (or go do it to Goonswarm!) They're doing it for that sweet isk filled kill that they got by pretending to be someone's compatriot .

On the other hand, keeping a 70 (or even 60) to 1 success ratio while engaging in PvP is an accomplishment. Getting the idiots in noob/indy corps to trust you isn't. And that is where most Awoxxing is done, corporations that have members who fly faction/officer fit mission ships - and all you have to do is pretend to be their friend and go out with them in a mission helpful like. Nope, nothing to admire there.

As much as I would love to kill those ships I am not a fan of Awoxing so I don't do it. I want my target to know I am coming and that he is a target.

It does not mean I don't love BAW though or anybody else that awoxes or ganks. Because BAW knows I love them. I love all my fellow Undesirables.

So keep your E-Bushido to yourself I doubt BAW cares what you think because I really don't.

And a o/ for BAW.

First, we'll do damn near anything if the price is right; war, ganking, awoxing, scamming, log-off-skis, duels, suspect baiting, lying, singing, trolling, cybering, theatrical performances, strip teases, demonic rituals, prostelytizing, marriage counseling, sexual deviant indulgences, harassment, hazing, healing, role-playing, and pretending to like you while wearing a hot little number so we can swindle free drinks out of you all night. It's all the same to us.

Second, many of the unsavory things we do for money are done so we can do even more unsavory things for fun.

Third, we thoroughly enjoy it when alts of other merc groups, in this case Sovereign Infinity, bad-mouth us in our own thread.

When someone is in dire need of being introduced to the Almighty Space-Serpent, we do so by whatever means will be most effective. Sometimes that's stabbing them in the back while pretending to be their friend. Sometimes that's groping their genitals while wearing a raccoon suit.

I do not know why you think Sovereign Infinity has anything to do with Vixanda Alzae. We don't. There is nothing I can do about the fact that she still hangs around our local and reads what one of your alts posted there and decided to comment on it. Sovereign Infinity has nothing against Break-A-Wish Foundation or any other Merc corp. We don't care if you engage in the more underhanded parts of EVE.

While I personally agree with Cannibal Kane on this issue, feel free to enjoy the game the way you want to play it. That's what EVE is meant for.
