The inventory system blows get rid of it already.

The inventory tree takes up more real estate while actually showing and providing less functionality. It's amazing how you could make a change that has the exact opposite of it's desired effect and still go through with the change. The additional load time is charming and the added clicking must be exactly how you envisioned this change would work.

How can it be clear to soo many players that this was a terrible change and you still charge right ahead with it. Even now with all the complaints and requests to revert it to it's previous state you're working on "fixing" it instead of scrapping it. It really just boggles the mind.

Agree..

It looks like somebody invened this new system, got payment for it from CCP, and now CCP insist on final implementation "because they already paid for it"

I don't get why anyone would quit over something as trival as this

This is not an trivial thing.
Inventory is one of very important things - sometimes we use it more often than overview.

People quit because they cannot or do not want to use it as it is.

I'm posting here for the same reason - I do not want to use it as it is now.

Btw, I was not posting after introduction of headquarters or non-rotating ships in hangar - because that was not important.

now I sit here, and do not launch the client - because I do not want to see that piece of Windows Explorer

I don't know, I only manufacture and do market stuff.
I'm constantly moving things around from station to station and managing my inventories.

I don't get it because the change was actually helpful to me. I can find stuff easier, and I feel that I'm moving things around easier now. I love the ability to set up my own filters so that I can get to only the things I want to get to with a single mouse click.

I won't deny that it's not entirely possible that I"m a complete effing ******, but I like the new inventory system. Just make it so my ship hanger isn't always unfolded and I'm good.

I figure for some people it is great

It is unusable for me. I tried to play this game I love again the other day, after readed the latest dev blog, and heard what sounds like the start of an apology. Its still just not possible for me to play without struggling with the UI constantly. I can't understand why I can't have a windows that opens to my cargohold, stays in one place, and closes or switches to a new ships cargo hold if I switch ships. The shift clicked windows are useless the way they act now.

I can't even believe they removed the quick links in the right-click menu.

Looting, arrg, hope the fixes for this work.

It astounds me that people that do not play eve, and apparently have a ui design degree they found in a crakerjack box are allowed to keep changing the core systems, with no regard for how the game is played. Cry

The mouse targets in the tree view are TOO SMALL, Crammed between incorrect targets, and unintuitively switchs the windows view on hover over, even if you have items held "in" the mouse cursor. This makes the tree view soultion unuseable for me. and as you threw the baby out with the bathwater, the whole game is unplayable for me.

2 accounts still on hold, 1 plexed, one down, awaiting the next round of fixes.

I have to admit i am really curious as to why this change was made to the UI. And why it was made the way it was, that it doesnt work as well as the previous system is now self evident, and yet, CCP are still trying to fit the 'square peg into a round hole' and its not working, oddly enough, so why? on what agenda was the change to the inventory system made? and why did it have to be forced through onto the tranquility server, from Singularity, despite its unfinished state?

I can't help but feel that CCP is not telling us something, and perhaps they should.

Am on the verge of unsubbing 5 accounts. I mean right on the edge.

It just is not fun anymore, I am losing stuff, making VERY costly mistakes because of aggravation with, by CCP's own admission, this non-functional inventroy "system".

It is just horribad.

Just cancelled my 3 month cash subscription, which I have been paying with real money for quite awhile now.

One down, 4 to go.

Take your mess of a new Inventory, your Goon added game content ( what a freakin joke), and have a nice day.

Goodbye.....and I am keepin my stuff, hopin that CCP sometime in the future starts to resemble something sane.

It's not an unsubbing issue by itself but the new inventory system is really very awful indeed.

Something about scripts and making it harder for bots.

My objection to this reasoning is that once a bot-script is rewritten, it never minds all the extra clicking. Whereas I mind every damn time.

I'll just add my voice to this stream. No, I'm not going to unsub because of the inventory system - not yet anyway, and not directly. But every time I dock in a station and my ship hangar isn't "up there" and my item inventory isn't "down there" - just where they have been in every station for the past too many years. Well every time that happens I feel a little bit of annoyance and resentment. And yes, I know I can double click to open my cargo, and then find the tree and collapse the ship list so I can see the item button, and then shift-click on that and I get my item hangar. And then I can shift-click on the ship button and get my ship hangar. Maybe every now and then those few extra seconds mean I will miss a fight, but mostly it's just ANNOYING!!!! I didn't have to do any of that before - dock, double click on new ship and undock, in about two seconds. Now it takes a lot longer and it is ANNOYING!!!! Why change it? Why not listen to everyone who tells you it is rubbish? I don't care too much about the tree one way or another, but the failure to persist windows is a gross retrograde step whch means you are ANNOYING your customers. Over time, I would suggest, that is never a good idea.

This alpha (not even beta) level 'upgrade' to the un-unified inventory system, is frustration wrapped in irritation, dipped in aggravation that is then deep fried in inconvenience.

CCP Soundwave needs to go look up Dunning Kruger effect. Though by looking what he calls his workmanship on this vexation of a user interface re-design, I doubt he'll understand why the Dunning Kruger effect applies to him.

Normally after a expansion I would be logging hours into playing Eve Online. Now I log in just long enough to fight with the inventory system, which is usually in less than a half hour, and then log out to spend my leisure time on something that isn't an exercise in nuisance. I'm pretty much just setting skills at this point.

Sorry, I'm not willing to pay CCP to be Soundwave's alpha tester and QA department. This pedantic pile of code should never have made it onto the test server, let alone TQ.

All accounts canceled.

although im not familiar with bottting programs, i can't imagine its all that difficult to change its 'behaviour' to compensate for changes like this, so i have trouble believing that the new inventory is related to botting at all, as people using bots are probably far less inconvenienced than those who do not..

I really do hope that this whole issue isnt a matter of certain members of CCP trying to 'save face' because that kind of behaviour went very badly for SOE, as im sure more than a few people here will agree. Sad

Some fixes to the Unified Inventory issues people have been running into. I know this doesn't cover everyone's concerns, just posting this in the relevant threads so everyone is aware of the current status.

CCP guard can we PLEASE have the option to go back to the old inventory system just the same as you did with CQ/hangers, some players love the new inventory and others HATE IT WITH A F**KING passion, having the choice is always preferable having none is a pain in the a***

lol @ this whole thread.

C'mon guys. It's not THAT big of an issue. And they are listening to feedback and try to make it better. If you threaten CCP with unsubbing over every tiny mistake they make, someday they won't listen to you anymore. Save this kind of protest for the serious issues Lol

+1

Honestly, only one possible way left for CPP. If they want to save their player base, they must provide both inventory systems, old and new with abilyty to switch between them or use both in same time even. Anything less is not enough now.

Inventory is actually perfectly fine after the tweaks. It took a bit getting used to but after working with it, I am pleased.
