just give me the option to go back to the old one, or dramatically improve the usability, until then I have a few games I have been wanting to play and this is a great excuse to stop playing eve.

( Shrug ) I only have one vote on this.

How I choose to spend my cash.

If the majority likes an unusable interface, then we are both better off by my unsubscribing.

I'm using the interface, ergo it's not "unusable".

Perhaps there's a little extra drama here?

But you see, people are simply trying to explain to you that 2+2 still equals 4, and proving to you why.

The problem is, your pen and paper has been taken away and you've been given a calculator that you refuse to use.

Granted, the calculator has a couple of bugs in it that will take a few days to sort out to make it completely functional and more user friendly.

Actually, it's more like the ability to do basic math has been removed, and you have to build a calculator from scratch. Oh, but half the components you can get your hands on are faulty as well, but at some point in the future they will, in theory, work properly. Until then, tough ****.

Since you asked nicely I'll indulge you.

Looting and mining I'll cover in one because based on the way I do things it pretty much works the same. I now no longer have to drag what I wish to place in my cargo hold down to the button representing it. I simply open the wreck/my jetcan and oh look, I get a handy tree menu that has my ships cargo hold on it as welll as my wreck/jetcan and I can drag and drop to my hearts content, assuming of course i dont simply click loot all and move on to the next one/empty the jetcan and warp off. It may only save me 2cm of mouse pointer movement whenever I want to do this but hey you never said how much easier it had to make things.

POSes I have less experience with, pretty much just a single tower with a maintenance array and a couple of hangers but to be honest it works the same, i find what i want in the tree menu and drag and drop if i want to move things around. Yes its up to me to make sure im in range of all the things i want to use at once but how is that any different from the old system?

Now I accept that if you have large tower setups as some people have said they have that this system does throw up some annoyances but to me it looks like these issues are being addressed as and when theres enough useful feedback to justify making a change.

Also +1 to pretty much everything Ranger 1 has said over the last couple of pages.

Thank You for your effort in an intelligent answer +1

Unfortunately the previous system worked very well for a variety of situations. It's wasn't broke, and because of this very bad decision to break it in this expansion, whatever improvements that were made are overshadowed by the ONE system that was used by everyone, in a variety of ways, getting messed with.

And to make things worse...it was discussed while in the testing phase. Why should we bother to help test things if ccp doesn't want to listen to our opinions?

Also, just a simple improvement I think could be added, for the estimated ISK of an item, and total isk of an inventory, use the lowest buy order price of the item in that region. That's a better estimate than averages.

It's a useless feature TBH. Really it is. I don't need it. Serves no purpose towards my gameplay at all. Never would have thought about it honestly.

Just as someone mentioned before....why do I need to know the estimate of the ammo in my cargohold that will be filling a target full of holes in a few minutes? That feature would be best suited for the Assets, don't you think?

Apart from POS management. Which they they have give a couple of options for fixing! I find it no harder to use than the old one.

"Minor"?

A major change in something that everyone uses can hardly be said to be "minor".

I can appreciate that many will prefer the new system. I myself don't have that much of a problem with it, and what problems I do have look like they'll be solved pretty soon.

But I also have the nous to realize that and how it's going to be a huge problem for some not inconsiderable number of players for whom it's obviously going to be a substantial net loss in utility (as explained in Tippia's blog). (I acknowledge that some of the things mentioned in that blog have been, are being or will be looked at - but not all, and judging from CCP Soundwave responses, seemingly not with any real understanding of the kind of blunder CCP have made.)

I also have the nous to realize that this has been a bad move for CCP, and something of a backslide into the "we know what's good for you" territory that was so roundly rejected by the playerbase last year. CCP has got to stop this habit of wholesale alteration of fundamental things (Hangar view functionality last year, UI this year) without some attempt to smooth over the transition. The obvious thing to have done would have been to have the new coding mimic the old coding's functionality, and introduce the new perks (tree view, filter) as options, so people could learn, and explore and incorporate at their own pace. (Just as the obvious thing to do last year would have been to have the CQ optional for existing players - had they done that, there would have been no furore, people would have thought "meh, but it will probably improve". So much trouble and bad press could have been avoided.)

But oh no, it had to be cheerfully thrust on everyone - in the teeth of vocalized misgivings on test.

Well, a thread like this is the feedback CCP get for such a cack-handed decision.

If your game experience is broken, you unsub. People notifying CCP that they're unsubbing is good for CCP, because then they get some idea of how many players' gaming experiences have been broken by a change (and also some gauge of the depth of feeling involved).

Trying to smooth it over and make it better is no help at all, least of all to CCP - supposing it's CCP's tender sensibilities you are trying to white knight for.

No lie if you are talking about this and my 3 other accounts. 3 from an old Alliance Leader who has given up after 5 years. 5 that I know of from my Main's old home system. All the ones I've read about here.

Yup, its a reality for CCP now that much is assured.

Much worse than Incarna. I know of nobody who unsubbed then, although I 'heard'.

What I needed, and anyone else, who really plays eVe needed was already in place with the inventory prior to the ' Vanilla Ice Expansion'. ccp ignored test feedback and did what they wanted....
