Anybody taking bets as to which month someone from CCP is going to emerge from their bunker to make a comment about the roaring disapproval of the "new improved" inventory system?

This unified inventory is utter garbage.

Is this the rant area for the expac? The fix to the patch for the "ghosts" of those logged but still show online didn't fix the problem. There are still 4k people showing up currently in Jita.

The unified inventory won't keep set windows even after resetting settings. After logging off and back on I have to reset windows all over again. I'll just ditto everyone on the UI problems and extreme dislike.

Autopilot - no longer will dock you even though you set destination to that station like it used to do. I usually use autopilot when going to other stations a few jumps away in a shuttle. Why did CCP take away this ability of AP? It's bad enough they can't get AP to warp all the way to a gate which is just a setup for gankers. CCP should have been working on those simple problems with the AP instead of the UI.

Usually in other games major expansions bring in a lot of new content and new things for players which should draw in new players or old ones. But it seems all of these expansions is just driving people away instead. That's called bad business. Time to start firing the content directors and hiring some long time players of the game who know what works. Just saying.

The old adage here of "If it isn't broken, don't fix it." does apply here. Seriously.

OK. I guess I dont have to tell you the new inventory is not appreciated (understatement). So, ok, it sucks. Everybody can make a mistake and that is fine.
However, I think you can fix it easily in the following fashion:

Step 1: remove it and role back to how it was before!
Step 2: add the new and smart UI to the ASSETS screen!

This way you wont bother pilots with a lot of crap windows while flying/pvp-ing/salvaging and so on, BUT you WILL provide a far better assets screen in which we can filter and find all stuff much easier.

Personally I'm happy with the new inventory UI. It makes sense and it prevents the need to have x windows open to move stuff around between holds, conatiners and what not.

I don't see the big problem tbh. It's just a little getting used to.
And yes, it has some little twicthes that need some love but in general it's a step forward in decluttering the screen.

And I can see what CCP is saying with "people resisting to change". It's true.
If they would act on all emotions on patchday+1 we wouldn't even have EVE as it is today.

So they will take some time, assess the true value of all feedback and then might reconsider.
I for one hope they won't.

Ok you like the new system, great. But about the "people resisting to change": it's wrong... i do not resist to change if the changes actually make sense in one of the other way... people are not complaining about the frigate changes ( xcept the 1-2 users that allways complain about every change), or the changes to FW, what everybody complains about, is that 1. Feedback from Testserver obviously is totally ignored and 2. that the inventory is way too complex as it is now. Everything takes longer to do.
People have set their inventory windows in a way to optimize their personal workflow. Everybody uses the inventory different. NOW everybody has to use the inventory like the dev that actually made up this unified inventory. So i do not see the point of getting used to something in a game i pay for, that somebody else thinks is great, but 90% of the community thinks it sucks.

Point is. this inventory is not finetuned as it should be after having it on the testserver. THEY HAD FEEDBACK ABOUT IT, but ignored that mostly.
So, why should anybody actually waste their time on SISI to test stuff CCP wants to implement and give feedback if it's obviously ignored?
For that i feel i would be a Beta-Tester that pays for the game.
This here feels like " ok, we put it on SISI to give the people a chance to test it out, but no matter what the feedback is, we're going to put this live as it is anyways."
Why does something, that is obviously NOT finished and thought through properly reach TQ? SISI should be the place where fine-tuning is done, and NOT the life-game-server.

CCP tries to encourage people to log onto the Testserver to test things, but then those who do, are ignored. Imagine, the hours people spent on SISi are wasted time, as they could've spent that time on TQ.
So, people pay for the game, they are generous, yes generous, and spend their time on SISI to try and help the devs with testing and such, and then they are ignored? How does that feel?

Oh and another thing. i read the whole damn thread and one thing came to my mind. As soon as the talk was about something different than the Inventory, Devs jumped in and replied. So the ones actually in charge of the new inventory are either hiding, or finished their jobs a couple days ago and are on a holiday because they knew the feedback would be severe.
This does not give a good feeling for those people who actually DO what they are asked for and give their feedback. I totally feel ignored, and that makes me even more sad than the ****** up new inventory.

I usually don't like to quote, but THIS poster couldn't have described it better. This is the reason I stopped bothering and testing things on SiSi or Duality after our input on fleet window changes and Incarna were completely disregarded and our time wasted. All the problems went through anyway and were only fixed/reverted after much rage and burned out graphic cards.

When you shift click to open the corporate hangers (all of them at the same time like the old one), the labels will now read corporate hanger, corporate hanger, co.... Get the picture?

I would appreciate it if they would be labeled by their 'given name' first, all those tabs, so I don't have to drag the corp hanger window all the way across the screen to see which of the corp hanger 1-7 I am about to put stuff into.

Not wanting to sound stupid - labeling them all corp hanger first would not have been needed if the entire corp hanger could open by clicking the main menu in the list, resulting in 1 big label Corp Hanger, and then the 7 under-menu's.

I really really would like the corp stuff taken out of the list of my assets. They aren't mine. They're corps assets.

Besides that, it does seem a bit more functional now, but still wouldav preferred to keep it the way it was.

One other thing I wonder is: If you had a feeling it did not apply as it should, how come no comment from a Dev yesterday saying - Guys, much sorry, we have loadsa bugs, we'll fix it tomorrow instead of letting us sorta believe it was meant to be just as it appeared. I would have liked that comment to have appeared while I was gritting my teeth yesterday.

Thanks for working on it though - please work on it some more.

Thanks,

-Misha

After completing a number of missions I find the missile explosions about as exciting as watching a dud firework. I like the idea of the smoke trails but the result is the missiles look like they are walking to the target. Sad

I don't need to mention the Hanger everyone else is doing such a geat job of that.

Oh, add that comment about labels to any larger amount of cans open in a combined/stacked window - I do have a notion it is 'item hangers'. The Info I need is the label I gave it - can-with-stuff-that-goes-there, can-with-stuff-I-need -to-bring etc.

Please.

Posting to show my agreement with the general consensus on "the new inventory sucks, give the multiple windows back".

So:

1. Value estimation, great.
2. Cargo capacity bars, great.
3. Pushing multiple buttons to see my ships, when I could do this before in plain sigth, terrible.

never complained about anything before but after 2 minutes of playing with this new 'inventory' thing i'm mighty fed up that i just paid 3 months subs. I dont feel like logging in again and i wont re-activate my 2nd account until this is either permanently rolled back to the previous inventory system that WORKED JUST FINE or this new unified catasrophe is made optional with a simple tickbox.

Why do people insist on fixing things that werent broken in any way. It always ends up the same way........

Hate the new inventory system too. Very hard to use...

Not sure if anybody's posted about the new web drones but it seems they all have a sig radius of 110. Is that a typo or is it the actual stat value ?
If it is it doesn't make sense all utility drones have sigs of 25/75/110 vs the normal 25/50/100. While I never really agreed with that either since u'd think they'd be something on the lines of 30/60/115 to keep things balanced but the new ones.... 110 for a small drone !?!?

Also the new "test mods" lack any sort of usable/humanly comprehensible stats/description. Nice going CCP Cool

That's all from me. o/

The unified inventory? TERRIBLE!!

Make it so we can enable it/disable it. That way, we can go back to using the ORIGINAL one, that WORKED, was ORGANIZED, easy to SEE the contents andquantities, and didn't have bloated window frames to waste space. All the post patch bugs associated with the inventory windows aside, the windows frames are fatter than before, which means more unusable screen space. Maybe CCP have forgotten, but players can unify their own inventory, the way THEY like, including container tabs, names, and anything else we need. Lose the isk calculator, or at minimum, allow the players to turn it on/off in a right click menu, or in general.

Instead, add something that actually IS useful, like AUTO SORT and AUTO STACK. And you guessed it, give players the option to turn that on and off too. The filters are handy, so allow THAT option to be enabled on the OLD inventory, and you've got something actually usable.

PS - Oh, and make it so that you can sell, trade or contract from ANY inventory window, including cargo holds.

CCP's development cycle REVEALED:

  1. Designer gets a stupid idea.
  2. Designer creates mockup, presents to Hilmar via an email.
  3. Hilmar makes a presentation at Fanfest about how CCP has learned from it's mistakes and will be introducing NEW! PATCHES! WITH MISSILES! Little mention of the stupid idea.
  4. Coders implement while stoned out of their minds.
  5. Coders shove the committed code over to a desk marked 'QA'.
  6. QA doesn't exist, janitor eventually finds the dusty box of CDs and turns it in at Lost & Found (AKA Beta Deployment).
  7. Beta Deployment shoves it onto SiSi, goes back to watching reruns of Friends.
  8. SiSi ******* explodes, players report numerous problems.
  9. Developers issue halfhearted assurances during the commercials while watching Everybody Loves Raymond.
  10. Deployment. The emails coming in create a loud buzzing sound in the telecom lines, which also happens to interrupt the NCIS marathon everyone was watching.
  11. CCP runs around in a panic, pretends that bugs are design decisions, assures everyone bugs will be fixed. Well, the obvious ones that are easy to fix. They don't want to talk about the bigger ones.
  12. First patch is deployed. More bugs are created. Telecom line is now on fire.
  13. Patch 2, another strike. Arcs are coming off the T3 line and shorting out the cable TV, so now CCP can focus.
  14. Patch 3 and onwards start to actually fix things.
  15. Hilmar announces next cool feature + stupid idea bundle, focus is shifted and bugs are left unfixed.

Funny but probly true lol

I have to say that I do not like the new cargo window especialy when you are undocked. The new interface is over engineered. I liked the old system better as it was simple and straight forward.
