yeah the lack of bubbles and gate guns is the only thing going for it as it encourages people to fly tanked ships over nano thus giving pvp a different feel to 0.0 tbh, bar alpha you dont see as much battleship combat in 0.0 as you do lowsec.

Also being able to use expensive implants/hardwirings with reasonable safety is the other bonus i guess

And this why the sociopaths attack high sec: they are bored because no one can or will fight them.
Some of my friends in null (wow, yeah, some null sec people are not asshats) tell me that Test and goons are playfighting with each other because they have nothing else to do in null.

But there is an unlimited amount of pain they can cause in high sec.
For those that don't keep up on current events, we have the sociopaths doing these things:

1. Funding Hulkageddon.
2. Initiating death squads to seek out and suicide people who slammed the failed lawyer when he was banned.
3. The failed lawyer describes in his latest Ten Ton interview how the sociopaths plan to further screw the high sec player base: http://www.tentonhammer.com/eve/spymaster/78

The EVE is harsh, the game takes years to skill up line that gets told to everyone makes that near on impossible.

The SA/Reddit communities you recruit from are good in that way as you bring new players in and get them into the cut and thrust of the game from day one, the rest of the people playing get bombarded with what's not possible and how high to set their sights from day 1 of playing.


Sorry for ignoring this previously. It will sound silly to a whole lot of people, but we all know the NPE needs to be further revamped from what it is now. What the NPE really needs to have is dedicated real people who will show new players the ropes, show them what is possible in the future, but get them rooted in the present and show them how they can make a difference in a fight now. Maybe after showing new players the basicas, CCP has the NPE point newbies to corps like RvB and EVE Uni to show them how all these things work.

I don't like seeing people come on the forums here and whine about being blown up.

All new players must go through a mandatory PvP course and a mandatory hardening up period before being allowed into anything bigger than a cruiser.

I don't disagree with what you said on the NPE but I do think we're a long way off this game being welcoming and instructing people of the reality of what faces them.

Currently the infrastructure for the next Goonswarm/Test isn't there and very unlikely without an external to eve social group providing it.
