Not sure if this has ever been mentioned, but it'd kinda dumb if it hasn't.

Mostly everyone wants a t2 and/or faction version of the drake, Hurricane, Myrmidon, and Harbringer.

Well, I've got a very simple fix.

It's based off something that is already implemented in game.

Prophecy, ferox, Brutix, and Cyclone all actually have 2 t2 versions.

Simply change the skins on one of the t2 ships to the skin of the related faction's unused bc.

MAYBE change the bonuses around a little bit to better compensate for the different ship, but I dought you'd need to if you just simply gave it all the stats it already has.

Harbringer becomes absolution skin (same capacitor use reduction buffs)
Prophecy stays as damnation skin (same armor rep buffs)
Drake becomes knighthawk skin (same Shield and missile buffs)
ferox stays vulture skin (same hybrid optimal and shield buff)
Myrmidon becomes Eos skin (same bw, both have drone bonus(though different), and same armor repair buff )
Brutix says Astarte skin (same buff to armor rep and hybrids)

These 2 were a little harder to determine which was which i ended up having to base it off CPU, grid, slots, and hardpoints layout

Quick break down
Cyclone Hurricane Claymore Sleipnir
CPU 425 400 515 475
Grid 1210 1350 1390 1460
high all 8
med 5 4 6 5
low 4 6 4 5
turret 5 6 5 7
launchers all 3

Those who look carefully can see a difference in the t1's that is common in the t2s
hurricane has higher grid, lows, and turrets than cyclone
sleipnir has higher grid, lows, and turrets than claymore
Cyclone has more mids and cpu than hurricane
Claymore has more mids and cpu than sleipnir

So
Hurricane skin become sleipnir
Cyclone skin stays Claymore.

In the case of caldari, amarr, and gallente, the skin changes actually make more sense based off the stats and buffs.
The names even seem to fit the skins better.
That's true for all but minmatar, and we all know, minmatar doesn't make sense anyway.

So to recap, just take the listed t2 ships and change their skins based off what I've stated.

It makes more sense and gives us a skin based off the unused t1 bc's than to give us 2 ships based off the same t1 ships.

Quick easy change that the players would easily accept, even if it doesn't overly exite them

Basically saying that field command ships use the tier 2 battlecruiser model instead of both field and fleet command using the tier 1 BC.

Interesting idea but I don't care enough to make any other comments/

lol, yeah that's what I figured most people would say, but ya gotta admit, it makes sense to make such a simple change, and I'm suprised that it wasn't set up this way when they first implemented them

here's a question...im sure CCP have a bunch of 3d modelers under their banner...what do they do? lol

i came into eve only in 09...

but i always wondered something, this game has been around since 03. i highly respect and admire how long its been active, their way of evolving the game and adding to it without the need for a new server, new game release, i mean imagine all they needed for SWG to become SWOR was an update? many can probably argue that it could have been that way if (1) the game developer was the same (2) they built the game to be that way the way EVE was (i assume)...

but all in all...

in close (somewhat?) to becoming 10 years of activity....how is it that there isn't unique ship models for each and every ship?

i always pondered that. sure i know rpgs usually do that but thats when you have hundreds and hundreds of items you probably dont go about making them all unique (esp when its minor stat changes and you have a deadline to release the title - but even that is becoming questionable with the sudden surge in use of DLC these days). but with 8 years and multitude of expansions later....couldn't the time be spared to make every ship unique in their look? some I can understand being the same but even though...its not like there wasn't time for when this could have been done? right? maybe? just wondering....i mean i know they're only stat changes but these are the ships we fly and the main models we admire. its like From Software releasing an Armored Core title and have 1/3 of their parts looking the same when the big thing about that game is the AC customization....EVE is no different. its about the ships....make them look different....dont be the GT series that boasts XXX number of cars when 1/3 of them are Skylines which share the same car model with diff stats...make it unique for all...pretty please? plus it would be cool to just look at the ship without the need to see the colors and go...ah its X-ship...

question/statement/rant done lol

Ya know, I asked myself that same question when they remodeled the rattlesnake

Was the original rattlesnake ugly? yes, very much so.

But at least it had its own skin. Then they did a "remodel" which came out looking like a scorpion. Not a remodel at all, the just slapped the paint job on a scorpion, threw in the stats, and called it a rattlesnake.

True, I would rather have new ones, but from the looks of it, we're far from that happening, and I'd rather just have 1 t1 of each, 1 t2 of each, and then make a new skin if a new bc idea comes out.

P.S.
BLACK DRAKE WOULD BE AWESOME!!! Huge part of the reason I thought of this

Doesn't really matter if there's a T2 Drake etc or not if the stats are just the same that they would be otherwise, and changing it does have other effects. For example, building it would require an another BPO to make copies of for invention.

I will F*****G support that mate. Leave the nighthawk alone. Change the vulture if you wish, but leave that gorgeous ship alone, or I will purposely re-skill myself to fly a vulture.

what I wonder, is why does it seem the nighthawk, ferox, and vulture fly backwards?

I mean, doesn't it seem like the big end should be at the back to you??

Wouldn't you rather save the tier2 hulls for the inevitable 3rd T2 BC that will be a requirement when commands are revamped as the gap twixt gank hull and link hull will become gargantuan?
