You know what?

I used the eve in-game calculator (short "EIC") about 4 times since 2005. Not so often, might sneak into your mind.
Right! You want to know the reason why?

It sucks monkey-balls (short "MB").

I know, I know, i forgott something, each feedback shall begin with the finest gratitude.
For that i prefer to thank you for EVE-ONLINE, it is simply the best MMO on the market.
For years! Keep goin'.

Back to EIC and MB and such and to keep it "SS", soft and simple...

Please CCP, give a good portion of CCP-LUV to our poor EIC to stop the MB. Even if it's "it is done when it is done"-done.

let's move it!

Your post sounds like you're high on something.

What exactly is wrong with the calculator that's in-game? I don't use it myself typically, but that's because I have a graphing calculator sitting on my desk and a python interpreter running in one of my open terminals 99% of the time. It's a perfectly fine basic calculator though, CCP wasn't going for anything fancy, just something usable, which the current calc is.

Run in windowed mode.

Start > run > calc

Problem solved.

I don't use the in-game browser either.

some easy to implement and easy to create features would spice up the whole EIC morphing it into a traders wet dream.

IF there is a CCP statistic about the usage level of the EIC since EVE launched it might show up that is one of the less used in-game-apps CCP developed.

So, why not fix it easy and make it usefull and special. And unique, like EVE.

Oh and pardon my English, still in developemt.

What "easy to implement and easy to create features" are you talking about? You still haven't really said anything at all in this post except "I want the in-game calc to be better", you haven't said how you think it could be better.

one easy-peasy thing would be to use 1,000,000,000 instead of 1000000000 in the EIC.

Maybe you should have said that in the first place then, lol.

I see no issues with making the in-game calc support digit grouping, it should be relatively simple to handle.

this is one small thing, if you dig just a little deeper other usefull features would add life to the EIC.

like adding a "sticky" feature to it. so it will not get eaten by the market window which desires painful-useless clicking to fix the LOS problem.

and so on... but i do not like doing a DEV's job by listing all cool 'n easy stuff.
I need to work for living. Allthough, playing EVE is high ranked on my favourite how-to-spend-my-time-list.Big smile

Yes, please! What's the point of having an In-Game calculator when it doesn't even have digit grouping?

If that single feature were implemented, it would go from being almost totally useless to actually useful.

digit grouping would be helpfull

A more expanded calculator where you could see a running list of calculations and put notes next to each calculation would also be helpfull.

Being able to tie this in with the notes window in some way would also be helpfull.

digit grouping
calc should expand to show entirety of largest number entered, not scroll the number left/right so you cant see parts of it
scrollable calculation history with answers
abilty to drag and drop numbers to and from the calc/notes/market/out of game clipboard
ability to r-click a number in the game and "insert to calculator"
