Holy crap. Now when i try to launch EVE i recieve message:
Невозможно установить соединение с сервером. Пожалуйста, проверьте свое подключение к сети и перезапустите программу.
translates as "Unable to connect to the server. Please check your network connection and restart the program."
Why the hell it is written in Russian ?

Ok, after trying to update with the launcher. After using the repair tool (after reboot, with the new and the old one, with eset disabled or closed -i have eset 5 btw which hasn't thet protocol filtering option...or at least i couldn't find it). I've downloaded manually the patches and imported them with the launcher (EVE_Online_350962-351477.patch).I've installed, reinstalled, used the installer, used the manual installation.
I get always that same error...when i run the repair tool it says that it's ok..everyhing is fine. But when i close it it gives me an error message saying that data is corrupted. When i try to start the game it says my client is corrupted and that _PyFreeTypeP.dll is missing. Of course it advises me to run the repair tool.

I have Windows 7 64b, ESET Smart Security 5.0.95.0, and a skill queue that is empty.

Hi all

My launcher has never worked since all this patching has been going on for the last 3 days. Every time I try to open Eve or the Eve Launcher I get this message in a box titled Exception:

"No connection could be made to the content server. Please make sure that your Internet connection is up and restart the Launcher"

Tuesday and Wednesday I just uninstalled and reinstalled fresh and I still had the same issue. Only way I could get it going was to run the EveFile from the bin folder

I have downloaded the new repair tools and today the new launcher Cascade posted but it is not working. I get the same "no connection..'' message and here is the error message I get when running the repair tool:

"No connection could be made because the target machine actively refused it:"
(i am only quoting that last line from the message because it won't let me post the whole message as it thinks i am trying to use code or something?)

I do not have ESET and I can still access the internet with other application. a little help? thank

I've tried several times over the past few days to send in a petition about it but I get
"Something really bad happened and we are really sorry.

The server was unable to process your request.

Support personel has been notified, no further action is needed.

Alright guys, I finally found a working fix. For all of those who are experiencing the issue of getting stuck at 15% during the update process, here's a guide to bypassing it:

1. Navigate to \EvE\launcher\ directory, and delete the cache folder.
2. Download the last patches via the links provided down below (about 228 MB in total). Do NOT save them in your EvE folder, cause the patcher will then overwrite them again! Keep the files in a separate download folder until you are done.
3. Start your launcher, and click on the tool icon on the top right of the window. Switch to the "Patches" tab, and click the import button. Import the first patch, and let it apply it. When it's done, the launcher will tell you that your game is now ready to play, but it's NOT. Ignore that, proceed by importing the 2nd and eventually the 3rd patch as well.
4. After all 3 patches have been successfully imported, you can launch the game by pressing the "Play" button on the bottom right of your launcher.
5. FINALLY play eve again.

Download links for the patches:

- http://www.filedropper.com/eveonline350962-351477

Thanks again, CCP, for NOT providing these patches when myself and other players have asked for them repeatedly, and made me go to places you don't wanna know about to actually get hold of them.

And now fix your fukcing client before releasing another of those moronic patches that will fukc over everyone's game AGAIN. Jesus christ.

Hope this helps all of my fellows in misery.

Sorry to hear that. I am well aware that the procedure I posted will only fix the problem of people getting stuck at 15%. But I'm not at all surprised that there's more than just this one issue out there, and it'll probably take some of us a lot of time to resolve them (without the help and support of CCP of course). I hope that at least those who share my exact problem might find some relief in what I posted.

If you think I might be of some help with whatever other issue you've got, feel free to send me a mail and I can see if I got any other ideas, though.

I will try this as soon as I get home. I hope they don't issue another 'small' patch over downtime or i'll be back to square one with a botched launcher.

CCP should provide us with exactly this type of service so we can manually patch when things don't work right.

Good luck everybody

i knew CCP is going to update the launcher today ... and i knew it will screw up ... so i rememebered a work around ...

DO NOT EVEN use the launcher

open EVE folder
open BIN folder
run evefile.exe game program directly

WHY DO THIS?

cos the launcher tried to update itself and screwed itself again.
repair does not even start
...

either the CEO of CCP is not paying the programmers enough ... OR ... you dont have enough time for the programmers to do this ... either way ... I BLAME CCP ! :p

I was having trouble downloading from the links you provided, so out of desperation, I just cut the patches from my eve folder and placed them on my desktop, and then followed the rest of your advice and for some reason it now works, go figure.
thanks for the help.

Why does this thread's title say there's a fix?

There may or may not have been some very minor issue with ESET for two or three players, but that's like nothing to the real issues this launcher + new client has.

What's up with the judgement when you release crap like this?

(...And Zyndells advice doesn't work because the Launcher doesn't run, just terminates.)

I will try the above solution-currently re-installing atm-again-I'm someone who USES computers-I do NOT program them so most of the fixes you guys are talking about mean abolutly f*ck all to me! The launcher screwed up on me yesterday-the funny thing is-I have another pc sitting next to this one-using the same antivirus-I'm UK & use AVG-& its working FINE! So not my router or ISP is it? This lappy has Vista, my desktop Windows 7. So, you tell me what the problem is then? Not my end dammit! So thank f*ck for dual boxing & my deepest sympathy for those with no access at all.

So PLEASE give a simple fix for those of us who do not have an IT degree! NAOW!! Twisted

Well CCP, I think something in your code is triggering a false positive with enterprise intrusion detection/prevention system some ISPs use. See the post from the user in Israel. The same issue is probably why ESET users need to disable a firewall feature.

My ISP probably uses a similar system. And no I have had no luck convincing them to tell me what they use.

I have a private VPN service to fall back upon, but I daresay few folk have that luxury.

I did do some quick packet captures with this patch. The client is receiving an TCP RST packet. Probably injected by the IPS system to kill the transfer.

Good luck fixing this one. I'd say check with ESET to find out what is triggering the false positive and modify the code to no longer trigger...

Not sure how else a fix might be done.
