No kidding. If you don't have a direct problem that you need advice about, or you aren't trying to work towards fixing the problem and helping to fix all the issues that have caused players to lose game time, then go blow steam off somewhere else. Its morons like you that cause progress to stall out by getting in the way. (Directed at revenwings not Daedalus)

They're not corporate ass-kissers, they're just people who have an ounce of reason in their heads…unlike you. While I have to agree that CCP should probably have done more QA testing on this release than they did, it is no reason to raise such a stink as you have done (and yes, pretty much just making a fool of yourself). From looking at your kill/loss history in-game, I really don't understand what you're getting so bent out-of-shape over…do you really want to go back to losing fail-fit ships so badly?

Anyway…on to some more worthwhile information, that is actually related to the TOPIC of this thread.

Devs, I'm not having the login issues that are so frequently stated above, and I understand that those issues are your top priority right now. But, I have discerned a little more information on the performance spikes that I described earlier. It appears to somehow be related to Internet Explorer, perhaps version 9, and perhaps the 64-bit edition (since that is what I'm using). I've noticed that besides the spikes that occur in EVE, if I am running EVE while I also have IE open, I see spikes in IE as well (just as severe as the ones in EVE, but FAR more frequently than the rate of occurance in EVE). These performance spikes do NOT correlate with CPU usage, or RAM consumption (ie., when a spike in EVE or IE is observed, there is no spike seen in the CPU usage or RAM consumption…hardware utilization remains normal).
Aside from that, I have also observed a minor graphical issue. Cargo containers both appear and disappear in a far more "flashy" fashion than they did before. I think they may have let their ego get the better of them, or they are just starved for attention. Either way, please put them back in their place, CCP. Blink

Thanks for all your hard work, I know patch fiascos like this are very stressful. Just keep breathing, keep working at it, and it will get sorted out eventually. Good luck!

Wow. Chill out, take a breath, and relax. The EULA covers CCP, so there's nothing to go for there. You've been spamming the boards, but it won't help you. CCP is doing all they can to fix all the issues people are having. They're working on it. But, as several people in this thread have pointed out, it doesn't take 10 minutes to debug software and release a new fix.

Also, just because you say something is going "viral" doesn't mean it is. Going viral is not really something people decide for things to be, it's something that happens.

Your attempt to take apart the EULA failed, too bad. Your attempt to yell just makes you look like an impatient boy.
I understand that you're annoyed as **** since you can't play. But really, don't you have anything better to do with your time?

Also, people not yelling/screaming/stomping their feet? They're not "ass kissers", it's just the whole "getting mad won't help" thing. Screaming at customer support will just make the CS annoyed with you. Yes, this is CCP's (as a corporation) fault, but go about it in a mature manner.

TL;DR: Stop being an impatient whiny **** and grow up. HTFU.

Now if they only changed that EULA sentence to:
"CCP shall not be responsible in any way for ITS OWN INABILITY TO TEST AND MAKE UPGRADES WORK BEFORE RELEASE and not letting clients access the System."

Wouldnt that make you happy?

Holy **** ccp what the hell did you do??????????

Eve is causing bluescreens, runs like crap when my computer will run it. Bluescreens ONLY occur when Im running eve, error coming back is one to do with code, not hardware, I forgot to write it down so next time i catch it Ill note it and edit here accordingly with the actual error. I run much more demanding programs on this computer without a SINGLE issue, but the series of patchs lately have gone from eve running like crap to it causing bluescreens.

Comp details:

Windows XP Pro SP3
AMD Athelon II x64
4g ram
Ati Radeon HD 4350

I have paid on my credit card for 3 accounts for 2.5 yrs, sometimes paying my 4th account with the same credit card. I understand patch issues happen but when it screws with my operating system cause its that poorly written, causing bluescreens, its enough to make me consider leaving game till you guys get your act together as Eve is NOT worth major damage to my computer.

If you don't like not being able to play what you paid for, find another game. Hold CCP accountable.

I suspect this cockup is already going to cost them a bit of money in subscriptions. The only way people learn is from feeling consequences of stupid actions, and releasing this was really, really stupid.

But then, if you look at what they have been doing the last month, it's not a surprise.

Tears will be shed and pants will need to be changed all round.

Seriously dude, getting upset about it isn't going to get you anywhere. If you could possibly look more like a child right now I don't know how. I haven't really been able to play the game for the last 3 days, and instead of getting all pissy about it and throwing a ***** fit, I put my energies towards figuring out where exactly the problem on my client was, and after I figured out what was causing my own problems, I solved it. If your client is working, then you have no reason to be upset. Yes, other people still can't play, and thats what we, the cool headed problem solvers not working for CCP, are still here watching this thread and still trying to help, despite the fact that some of us have already got our clients back up and running.

Heh... I'm a software developer myself and I know quite well how tedious and difficult is to write code. However, this kind of mistake should never make it pass QA. Stuff like special chars in the path of the installation or 'misplacing' the settings are things that should be checked for each and any release.

To be honest, this kind of 'mistake' would get people fired at the company I'm working for. I'm not saying this should happen here, but the fact those problems show up every patch or three is not normal either.

Did I say anywhere in there that it was not CCPs fault? No? I didn't think so.

However launcher still not working for me. Still 16-bit complain
[/quote

Can you try downloading this http://cdn1.eveonline.com/350962/EVEOnlineLauncherInstaller.exe and applying that to the client where you have a broken Launcher

Does that enable you to start the Launcher?[/quote

Started today with \bin\ExeFile.exe , it asked about an update. downloaded it
Eve online Launcher v1.09 started, after about an hour watching the progress bar of 1/3: Creating EVE_Online_350962-351477.patch going from 0% to 25% then back to 0%, i have given up

Also tried this one
http://cdn1.eveonline.com/350962/EVEOnlineLauncherInstaller.exe, seams the same v1.09 launcher that is looping at 25%

Now is really unplayable, even \bin\ExeFile.exe is nocure since it asks about the update, ending up in the loop. Will try a reboot and run again

PS
Just an observation..
I do not know what you have done to the launcher files, i have checked today the launcher.exe and launcher_console.exe. The header in hexa now is 4D5A which is usually a classical exe. Back when the launcher was not working i am sure that it was something else in the header because i have checked it.

Well been having the a different launcher issue from what everyone seems to be having but here goes nothing at trying to get it resolved.

I totally reinstalled eve yesterday from manual download, but still could not get launcher to run. I can get eve to run by going through the BIN folder and launching the EveFile.exe located there and by repairing it every time I start eve again.

This morning I was messing around and just deleted the Launcher file out of eve directory and hit the repair.exe to see what would happen. Repair.exe repaired eve by putting the launcher folder back in and when clicking on the shortcut from my desktop it launched and worked fine.

Logged in and then logged out and closed the launcher and tried to restart it again and got this error message in an exception box.

So I went back in deleted the launcher folder again and ran repair.exe and the launcher worked again, until it was shut down. Though if I go back into the directory delete the launcher folder and run repair.exe the launcher will start back up.

Mind you, as opposed to a lot of unfortunate people the updating itself (including the installation and running of the new launcher) went without any problems. I know, I'm a lucky bastard...Smile

However, since the implementation of Crucible 1.5 running EvE for a prolonged period of time without a BSOD occurring, now that is something entirely different...Sad

Here I used to have a sig of our old Camper in space. Now it is disregarded as being the wrong format. Looking out the window I see one thing: Nothing wrong with the format of our Camper! Silly CCP......

Dragooneye, while you at least have a way of playing the game, have you tried deleting everything in the 'cache' folder inside the launcher folder? I haven't had your problem but I'm noticing that the files in that folder don't like to resync with CCP's servers.
