As of 01:40 GMT (14th March) we released a new Launcher and a new repair tool to resolve some issues that players have been experiencing during the initial deployment of Crucible 1.5.

Those of you experiencing issues with the Launcher or updating the game, please follow these steps:

1. Reboot the computer.
2. Navigate to the EVE client install folder.
3. Run the Repair tool until it finshes.
4. Run eve.exe from the same folder

We ask people to reboot their computer to make sure that there are no locked files or other processes running while running the repair tool. This would otherwise interfere with the repair tool and prevent the client from updating.

If you have trouble getting the repair tool you can manually download the latest version here and drop it into the folder you are trying to repair: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/352/repair.exe

Please let us know if this resolves the issues you are experiencing.

Update 14th March 16:15 GMT :

We have found a solution for some people getting corrupted downloaded data. The problem is caused by an antivirus/firewall called ESET Smart Security and ESET NOD32 Antivirus.

Players are asked to try to disable the protocol content filtering:

1. Open the main window for ESET
2. Press F5 to open the Advanced Setup Window
3. From the Advanced Setup tree, click Personal firewall Protocol filtering (for ESET Smart Security) or Antivirus and antispyware Protocol filtering (for ESET NOD32 Antivirus).
4. Untick the checkbox “Enable application protocol content filtering”
5. Download the latest repair tool: http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/352/repair.exe
6. Drop the repair.exe into the EVE client folder.
7. Run repair.exe

This will update your game client, take you to the latest version and give you a working version of the Launcher.

If that does not resolve your problem, please reply here.

The repair tool does nothing when I try to use it. It just tells me an error occured and to view the error log as describe in this post.

This didn't fix anything, my repair tool only gives me errors after running a little bit.

When I run the game it tells me "file not found: C:\prog files........EvE\bin\_pyfreetypeP.dll"

Cross posting here:

How about this:

1. Download the latest repair tool http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/345/repair.exe
2. Drop into the client folder
3. Run it

Make sure you don't have any other EVE related processes running in the background.

Same problem I had with the old repair tool.

It just says "too many retries" and gives an error.

I hope I can do something about this; My skill queue ends in 12 hours and I don't want to have to download the entire client again. I had to do it for the crucible patch since neither the update nor the repair tool worked.

The logs are here. (Pastebin link for both patch_win.exe.log and repair.exe.log)

I'm not sure what to do now.

After completely wiping the Eve install and all directories, I did a complete reinstall of the client last night.

I was able to launch the game ONLY upon going into the bin directory and launching the game executable from within that folder.

So as expected another client update ran after downtime today. Of course I was unable to get it.

I ran the repair tool after making sure it was updated.

This is the output from repair.exe.log

I just want to point out that if CCP had taken the time to fix this issue when it was mentioned on Sisi back in January when it was repeatedly mentioned by myself and others, we would not be here right now.

The launcher was not ready. This patch should have been rolled back yesterday when all these problems started instead of forcing people like myself to not be able to play the game for extended periods due to QA failures by CCP.

How about a fix for this today or roll back the launcher and give us the old style manual patching system back.

Where do I find the log files? Everytime I run the repair tool - it does nothing? If I could read a log file to find out why...?

The repair tool will write down the log as it goes in the white box. Just copy paste that here. It can in addition to this tell you that there is a logfile under a temp directory. Without clicking OK on the error, go to this temp directory and open the log.

The first workaround from yesterday fixed my install problem. The error message was as stated. I rebooted and started the repair from the CCP directory. (Eve/bin) Worked a treat. I don't know if I have ESET. Haven't seen it before.

My launcher appears to load just fine, but the patch process itself just doesn't work. It'll load the same file over and over again:

(1/3): Creating EVE_Online_344784-350962.patch

up to 15%, then jumps to 25%, then restarts at 0%, and keeps doing it over and over. Repair file doesn't change anything, neither does rebooting or disabling the AV software.

EDIT: Just thought I'd let it run for a while and see what happens... which was not much, except that by doing this, the launcher filled up some 50 GB on my C:\ drive.

I have the same problem - disconnects internet access at 15%. Additionally, patch_win process run by the repair tool also does this at stage 6/7 of the repair....

Not impressed, especially after the debarcle of actually trying to get the launcher yesterday... 3 hours wasted.
