couple of things.

I run multiple clients. hopefully the launcher will now stop the multiple 4mb dl;s for each client? (btw. why do you not use the %user%\appdata\local\ccp\eve\download dir?)

Patches with the launcher. WHY OH WHY the root of the game install? Surely the appdata\local\ccp\eve\patches dir would be more sensible and allow easier multi client patching using the launcher?

Just some thoughts.

^this

i run 2 clients, i have to wait till both the clients are installed. and more annoying, one of my 2 clients had serious issues due to the patch, no overview, no neocom, ship not visible, pos not visible... so i cleared cache, setting, repairtool..nothing worked really. i was forced to download and install the whole client again.

as it is pretty slow it is installing for hours. all hours i am unable to play,

we can argue about how much baww that is, but if you have not that much spare time and need to spend the whole evening
downloading 1 client and being unable to play on the other account due to this then that is a little bit dissapointing.

launcher looks great but i would love to see those buttons 'settings' etc to be highlighted. it will improve the readability. i knew those buttons were somehwere but i had to look for them pretty hard :p

Would it be too much to ask to get all changes added to the patch notes? I would love to see full list of renamed modules, implats, etc.

Try to do some programming. It is a hell of a lot smarter to release something that works (if it works on their computers, they have to release to see what breaks on our computers) without all the functionality, because debugging a simple program and fixing that takes an insane amount of time off the time it would take to find and fix bugs if they released the launcher with full functionality.

TL;DR, you don't know how programming stuff works

while (CurrentSelectedTarget.Status == ShipStatus.Alive) {

     _myShip.FireAllGuns(CurrentSelectedTarget);

}

I don't get the point of adding a new application (launcher) to download patches without starting EvE, when....

... you start EvE and it still finds updates to apply and still have to restart the client like before the launcher was introduced.

I mean, you add a piece of software (that I know costed a lot of hours to code) that runs all the time and is effectively only useful once a month (a bigger update).

At the same time, said piece of software won't avoid a client restart in the most common situation of a client update.

Am I alone at thinking this has little sense?

they stated somewhere client updates will go in the short term,
they didnt want to change too much in this single patch just to avoid too much mess and bugs.

btw. in the launcher settings you can set it up to disappear again after client start and only show up on updates.

Bugs:

- sound volume is no longer dependent on the distance to sound source (ie you hear modules even fully zoomed out)

- comma no longer works as decimal separator, Win7 locale Finnish

I tried a mission. I accepted it, went to the intended system, right clicked to warp to it and...

... no "warp to" menu entry.

Had to add the mission warp point as bookmark in the people and places window, then I could warp to that bookmark.

hi, could the launcher app have a different icon to the eve client icons please its annoying as hell having 4 of em on the taskbar and not knowing which one at a glance is the damn launcher to log another client in,

and yes i know it will be in a separate stack to the eve client icons but it still bugs the hell out of me

bar that it all appears to work

Also, could i have commas back in my range box in the directional scanner pretty please way too many numbers without the commas :S

So yesterday I jump on the PC to have a quick bit of eve-time only to find that there is a new patch. Being the owner of 4 accounts makes this the usual headache...

I patch all four clients and and enjoy a good game of eve.

TODAY I return to the PC after a very enjoyable 14hr Night shift, only to to find the usual Patch for the previous Patch... I get ready for the usual 2-10mb patch to fix the previous patch, but find that the new launcher (Not that there was anything wrong with the old one..) Stop 1/3 of the way through the installation and give an error message.

I try it on the other 3 accounts and get the same issue... Try running the "repair.exe" in the installation folder and get another ERROR message. Now I'm back to RE-INSTALLING 4 accounts.

Two quick Questions:

1 - Did Any1 else experience the same prob today?

2 - After years of the game being live when are we going to have a patch that doesn't require an aditional patch ? Surely some1 needs to test these things before going live on tranquility ?

I found a new issue on both my PC and Laptop (Both win 7) after 1.5 patch.

Normal when you are in battle and the sound are loud, you can zoom out to get on distance and sound will play as on distance (Not that loud) This doesnt help anymore, so you have to go into your setting to reduce the over all volume. Problem if you do this, is the sound of an uncloak can be really hard to hear.

I'm usually very calm towards CCP, even if something doesn't go the way it should. I was patient during the monoclegate. But I don't like what's being done to EVE right now.

* The Installer is great - at least for people playing on one account. A fix for people playing multiple accounts is mandatory. Also, please include the "optional" client updates ASAP - launcher should decrease the patching time, not increase it.
* Module name changes are good neither for new players (tutorials are out of date now) nor for veterans (learn names again). It seems 29 pages of feedback is not enough for our dear Devs to understand this. Not to mention a quiet omission from the patch notes. How many times did miscommunication happen so far, dear Devs?
* Crucible 1.0 and 1.1 were great. 1.5 is by far the worst part of it.

Now the positives:

* small things are great! Keep them coming!
* Implant name change is welcome - there were simply too many to memorize anyway.

I believe the feedback we give You will result in some constructive fix.

Thanks for the feedback, it's appreciated Smile We're planning on doing exactly that, but we have to do it carefully, since it requires changes to the EVE client logon mechanics (the patch is offered to the client in a strange, legacy manner) and we don't want to change the way it's done, and leave people connecting from University networks or via various ISP's to become traffic shaped.

Fear not! we will move it into the Launcher Big smile

I connect through my universities proxy, or at least used to. Auto updates never worked but that wasn't an issue. Looks like i won't be able to play eve for 4 years, I can't download 5gb every 2 days.

The exe in the bin folder worked fine, but obviously my client's now out of date. I really don't understand what purpose removing manual updates serves

My university uses NAT.

Exe
Doesn't launch. Doesn't even start a process or prompt any response from the log server.

---

Exe in bin folder.
Starts. Incompatible protocol now due to it being an outdated build. The most interesting thing from the log server is it saying 'Unexpected response from server:'
'*then delivering line by line the message you get when you try to connect to the uni network without using proxy settings/validating your computer*'
Is the launcher not using my systems connection settings or spoofing another machine or something?

---

Launcher
'No connection could be made to the content server. Please make sure that your Internet connection is up and restart the Launcher.'

This forum won't let me post an error log.
'Debug CreateActCtx failed, filename, directory, or volume label syntax is wrong.'
'INFO - Getting Info from http://client.eveonline.com/patches/win_launcherinfoTQ_inc.txt'
And then a window pops up with the no connection message.

Why the f* can't you post 'html' on here anyway.

The lack of attenuation on the sound sources has been a problem on SISI for weeks and weeks and reported multiple times (the bug hunters were fully aware of it) - theres also another issue especially with projectile weapons and projectile sentry guns/pos guns where they all play their firing sound once on the first time you see them (when not firing)... that these issues have made it to TQ is quite frankly disgraceful and they should be taking a hard look at their quality control procedures.

The sound bug is actually the first one I've experienced in EVE that really hurts the gameplay.

But what is this crap about having several clients for multiaccounting?

I have a single instance, triplebox all the time.
