500 post after 24hrs. that is something. let me see. this equals 20 post per hour. Don't you see. it is serous!

Don't give me the bs again that whatever XX,XXX people online right now.

I would say that nearly 1/2 of the population cannot login. please reply. thanks for your kind attention.

Hi, i got the same problem as most writers, with the update yesterday, the launcher dont get installed and it is not possible to start the game. the repair modul is also not helping. is there any way to install the launcher manually.
i made a full new installation yesterday but after that it was still not possible to start the launcher, i was able to start the game out of the bin-file without the launcher, but today the new update killed this possibility.
what can i do do get the game going again, need an simple answer, i am not an computer expert

Usee... they repaired the trick u needed to use, to launch client, now its repaired, and u need to launch trough not working launcher, sounds fun

Alright here goes nothing, i'm at my wits end here and can no longer be arsed with this. Its been around 24 hours now and EvE is still not working for me so im gonna try and list the steps i've taken since yesterday and see if anyone else is having the same issues as me.

Post DT yesterday I opened my EvE client as I normally do (from my desktop shortcut). The 1st thing that happened IIRC was I had a launcher update then a client update, both of which failed. I then ran the repair as I was instructed which also failed.

The error message said the launcher was incompatible with a 64bit operating system and by this time the error logs said there was corrupted data.

I then downloaded the offline installer (349998) since the online one wasnt working due to data corrpution ( I think it was corrupted data). I installed EvE and tried to update it again and yet again the same problems occured, update failing and repair tool failing. After toiling with this for almost 7 hours I read a post on the forums saying if you go to the eve\bin\ExeFile and run the game from that it should run. Well yahoo the game did run from that file and seemed to bypass the launcher so I got a few hours play time last night.

Fast forward to post DT this morning and I start the game with the ExeFile, the launcher is bypassed and the update process begins and hey presto that fix is no longer working and I get this crazy-ass error in the log

Also i'm still getting the error message that the launcher is incompatible with 64bit OS.

Anyone any ideas since CCP seem to have their head in the sand on this one? (sorry fo the wall of txt this **** is frustrating tho)

hi devs id like to say first of all that i do understand that ur doin ur best and it is really appreciated.

i can log in thru exefile tho whenever i try to update i get a pop up "errors occurred read the log".
now, i dont really care about the update, since i can play anyway, but do u think in the next hrs or days there is hope to fix the update process? i can post the updater and repairer logs if needed, update stops at step 3 and repairer even tho says it has encountered errors has fixed the issue, at least if i run the exefile.exe. nothing happens if i hit eve.exe.

The problem is two little ppl see all there advertisement like buying plex thy fleet it a big need two remind you every day off you live that you cant afford plex ,, and have two look at all the great offers but cant evan let the basic off the game work four all users,,,, and no you will not get $ back four the time you did not play ,, No wonder ,... CCP cant see if stuff works on TQ or not thy have two hide behind a outdated version sisi cuz if thy set foot in TQ we blow them up wonder why ??? CCP cant play his own game cuz you know if we see CCP we blow it up ,,, nice respect you get from the users ,,,,, stop giving us game options we Dont need ,, and that stuff 90% off the time fail,,, When can we expect a new update? or evan a rollback four that matter/..

QUICK LOGIN SOLUTION TO EVE 350962

To CCP: Hello, your Launcher/Repair broken again and this time many impt files are corrupted in the eve\bin folders!! No way i can rescue those files again.

Ok Eve players...here is how i login.

Re-download, Wipe Eve 349998, Re-install the new EVE 350962. Run EXEFILE from eve\bin directory.

the evecutable + two 7z files [Payload 1 and Payload 2]

Tonights patch broke it for me.
1 - Launcher starts, doest patch anything, repair tool says im good,
2 - Start eve and eve wants to download a new patch.
3 - New patch says it has to close and restart
4 - Patch window opens up, click Play,
4.5 - Do random things like reboot clean cache etc
5 - Return to step1

UPDATE: something about a shortcut somethingorother failing flashed by

UPDATE2: karbark method 2 didnt help.

Dude if this works your gonna be my hero and I will send you some cookies or something. However there is still the question of whats gonna happen at down time tomorrow.

This is how I got my client working yesterday but with todays update its went pear shaped. Will an update tomorrow cause us to have to re-download a new offline installer and use the ExeFile to start the game and ***How much longer will this continue***

@CCP: I'm still having problems installing the new patch, one day after it came out Sad Unfortunately I'm far from alone in this.

My original post is here. Main difference is that I've managed to patch the Launcher to v1.09 but everything else is the same. Using Win 7 Professional 64 bit

Tried again today:

1. After patching the launcher (v 1.09), I clicked "Play" from the launcher.

2. The client launched and showed that it was incompatible. A dialog box appeared with the message "The update has been downloaded. The client will not close and the update process begin."

3. The Update Setup dialog box appeared but once it was finished a warning message appeared "Multiple instances of the launcher cannot be run from the same directory. This instance will now close".

4. Clicking on the "Play" from the launcher (still v1.09) resulted in the same process repeating itself (steps 2 to 3).

5. Running the repair tool as administrator from the Eve client folder ended with the message "Completed successfully. The Eve Online client was successfully repaired". This was repeated as advised, including several reboots.

6. Directly starting eve using the eve.exe application resulted in steps 2 to 3 repeating.

7. Did a complete new install today (ver 349998), but the above problems persist.

My Eve folder resides on a different drive than my windows 7 drive. Not sure if its relevant, just saying.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Hello enraged EVE players and clue-less DEVs. I am an avid Test Server pilot and CCP Konflikt's punching bag. Now many of your issues I have seen and been dealing with since the 3rd of March (trust me, many of us have been saying the same thing you guys are to the DEVs with complete disregard) and may have some solutions for you. However, some of these solutions may not work with certain operating systems (those of which unknown).

#1 For the fault in which the launcher applies 0~(a certain percentage) then fails with a message "Unable to update client"
Possible work around: Open your EVE file location. Locate and open the folder named "launcher." Create a shortcut to the file named "launcher" only, not "launcher_console" and post it on the desktop. Right click the new shortcut and set the rights to administrator. Then set your compatibility to administrator as well (If applicable). Run the launcher shortcut and update application process should complete without fail.

#2 Fault in which a patch loop error occurs, ie; launcher says ready, when play is clicked the splash screen loads and login screen appears with a required update. Once update is complete, launcher says ready and process loops.
Possible work around: *NOTE* (Worked on test server for this issue on Win 7 64bit, however it is the current issue I am having with Tranquility, may not work for similar operating systems)
Manually delete all cache files. (Open EVE file location. Open folder labeled "bulkdata." Delete all contents from folder.) Go back to EVE file location and run the repair tool manually by double clicking, do not use launcher repair tool. Run EVE launcher exe. from the EVE main file location. *NOTE* (Do not run launcher from launcher folder for this fault, contrary to what is stated above.) Launcher should then fully patch and loop error resolved.

#3 For faults on EVE startup saying something to the extent of "You do not have permission," refer to the first solution.

#4 For faults in which an update fails and pops up a window saying "You cannon perform that action as another instance is already running." Simply close the launcher window when the patching process begins (only if patching occurs in another window other than launcher,)

Thats about all I can remember, I will try and help out as best I can.

+1 for feeling the pain on download speed of the new launcher. downloading at 5kB/s Ugh

Edit: OMG, this looks like a torrent client! Oh, I so loved CCP's fast upload speeds... Such a shame you've decided to cut down on bandwidth costs.
