Same here... any ideas. Thanks.

No answer for this to me or the others facing the same problem. A hint of what to do from the devs would be well recieved.

Say... "...Look guys, try in about 10 hours and you might be able to patch the game and try to log in". I don´t mind losing game time, I DO mind losing REAL LIFE time sitting in front of the computer trying to solve this, reading 18 pages of posts in order not to ask something that has already been answered.

I know the caos you might be facing with all the problems but as a customer I expect an answer. And not a general one like "... we are working on ALL the problems ..."

Thank you for the time and hope all gets solved soon.

Right after I finished writting and posted I saw the Dev message. Will donwload it and tell you.

Perfect, the new Launcher works. Takes some time to initialize ( step 3/7 I think, even shows no network traffic but you wait and is ok )

I only deleted the previous downloaded stuff of the cache in order to get the new one when started the normal program. Did nothing fancy other than the usual. The patch download also took a while but is normal I guess with everybody doing the same. Upon log in a little new patch ( assume is to fix some of the other problems ) get downloaded and all went smooth.

Thank you DEVS for the work. Even though it IS your work, sometimes you also handle not very polite customers alongside your coding and that is remarkable.

Cheers.

you're on windows 7 x64? and your client is 1.5 patched and running? what did you do to bypass the launcher and repair tool errors, saying that they cannot patch game folder while their own launcher.exe and repair.exe processes are running? im curious

I suppose i should be used to having to redo all my settings on my accounts at this point, but it's not gotten any less annoying, and this time is no exception.

Sound bug.- Before the patch the sounds of your launchers/guns firing used to decrease the further you scrolled out the viewing range of your ship. It no longer does this, you get the same sound sat on your ship as you do viewing it from miles away which is an absolute pain if your not trying to wake the nipper up.

Having similar issue with sound. When jumping through gates or being outside stations, even when zoomed out completely the sound is like you had your camera drone inside the gate... at busy gates the sound is VERY LOUD X

Yep, instead of what it used to be only the Mega Pulse Laser and its meta variants that are affected, now more modules and environment sounds are loud as regardless of viewing distance.

only solution is to turn the sound off until you guys completely fixes it, please kindly order a new batch of camera drones as the current ones are totally infected by some sort of virus called Cruicible 1.5.

My brain goes nuts completely especially with multiple clients and invulnerability field running....it keeps ringing..ringing...ringing....

@_@

PS. While you are at fixing it, please kindly also fix the mega pulse lasers sound too, it's been neglected for years and from a "Little Thing', it now transforms itself into a "Big Thing".

As of 23:57 GMT we released a new Launcher and a new repair tool to resolve some issues that players have been experiencing during the initial deployment of Crucible 1.5.

Those of you experiencing issues with the Launcher or updating the game, please follow these steps:

1. Reboot the computer.
2. Navigate to the EVE client install folder.
3. Run the Repair tool until it finshes.
4. Run eve.exe from the same folder

We ask people to reboot their computer to make sure that there are no locked files or other processes running while running the repair tool. This would otherwise interfere with the repair tool and prevent the client from updating.

Please let us know if this resolves the issues you are experiencing.

UPDATE: We're holding off on the update just a bit more while we investigate an issue.

FWIW: This worked for me (i had tried it a few hours prior to this post)

I kept getting errors on the update.. so i ran the repair tool through the launcher which then
kept bombing out with this error in the repair tool exception box :

Quote:
WindowsError: [Error 32] The process cannot access the
file because it is being used by another process:
'J:\\CCP\\resCOSMOS.stuff'

-the locked file kept changing though.

So -i went directly to the eve folder an ran it from there.
it said an updated version was available (last one was dated Jan, 13, 2012)
it updated, the repair was finally sucessful and now i'm a happy camper.
(one note: i did not reboot before had tried this)

anyway... it worked for me. -a "retroactive thank you" to CCP Cascade for the fix..

my only grumble is that we can no longer DL the patches for manual install.
-as i will always have to run the repair tool if i DL large patches through eve proper..

EDIT: I had also renamed 100mb+ main patch file to .OLD to force the repair
tool to re-download the patch, just in case.

So if CCP Cascade's fix doesnt work for you, you may want to rename
(or delete) the main patch file and try again.. -hope that helps someone..

As of 01:40 GMT (14th March) we released a new Launcher (Version 1.09) and a new repair tool to resolve some issues that players have been experiencing during the initial deployment of Crucible 1.5.

We ask people to reboot their computer to make sure that there are no locked files or other processes running while running the repair tool. This would otherwise interfere with the repair tool and prevent the client from updating.

Me: Alright! Work complete! Time to go home and update skill to play some DoTA2, then some HW done!
/me arrives home, turn on PC, prepares HW stuff in advance
/me loads steam, and launch Eve-O, patch update!
/me sees patcher loads up, then fails few minutes later and it recommends running repair tool
Me: Alright ... Minor change in schedule, first time running repair tool.. Lets see...
/me loads repair tool, it ask for update, and I press ok.
/me browses forums for couple of minutes, and noticed repair tool is not "loaded"
/me once again double clicks repair tool, and it is now checking and repairing
/me waits after several minutes, and it fails.

Me: WTF!
/me tries updating through his alt eve folder (which is on the desktop)
/me notice it seems to be working fine and decides to go AFK to make some food.
/me comes back with food and sees client is ready!

Well, not a bad start, but not for my steam eve :(

I just tried to delete eve online folder from steamapps so I can copy and paste from alt eve folder (works great many times), but won't let me because something is "loaded" or in use. but there is no indication of a program loaded or whatever using it from task manager... Can't be arsed to reboot, so, whatever. :(

Why are all of my windows and settings lost?

Install went fine, first load it preserved my old settings,, but after Eve client restart it's all gone again?

I thought this was not supposed to happen?

Ok, i figured this out.

Old settings remained in ...appdata...../ c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility folder

However, CCP has laid the final blow, and for whatever reason, probably unknown to themselves, created new folder called

c_progra~2_ccp_eve_tranquility

Way to go.

I'm on 64 bit windows 7 btw.

So I copied my settings over, overwrote and it seems to work now.

Did this. All my settings are now back as they were :)

Yes I am in W7 64. But my only problem was that the patch never went over the 15% of the Launcher. Never had any other of the errors that I´ve seen here. I did like you did, deleted the evepremiumpatch previously downloaded, started the game from my usual desktop link, my client was the one working yesterday. As soon as logged in the window saying there is a new patch appeared and that was it. It downloaded, installed the Launcher, started the Launcher and that was it. Guess I am one of the lucky ones that only had that problem of the launcher getting stuck at 15%.

Hope it helps somehow, but I assume it won´t =(

There is a problem with sound effect. Most or all in-space sound effects are now playing at full volume no matter how far you are away, as long as you are on grid with the thing making the sound. So if I am at 0m on a gate or at 150km, the gate sound still plays at full volume. Turrets, probe launches, salvaging sound... please make it stop.

Dear CCP DEV Cascade, could you please give us a link where we can download the new Launcher version 1.09 and repair tool? Thank you

There isn't a single installer for the Launcher, however you can download the Repair Tool from here.

Small Issue with falcons and jamming :)

The jam timer indicator is overlapping the shield bar indicator on targets making it hard to see if you have a successful jam.

Yes I have cleared the cache :)

I am experiencing very bad performance issues with two instances of the client running at the same time. First of all, installation went through just fine. When I first launched the client via the launcher it sent me to a completely generic version with default settings (language, graphics, audio, overview, windows ... basically everything). So I used the launcher to patch the client and then started the client via the old EVE link. Connecting to the server went fine, game is running, so far so good. I noticed with the new version a new settings directory is created in appdata, probably being the cause of the completely blank startup.

Old version used this directory:
[...]\c_program_files_(x86)_ccp_eve_tranquility

New version uses this directory:
[...]\c_progra~2_ccp_eve_tranquility

Independent of that I am getting a massive drop in terms of performance with two clients up and running. Before the patch I used to play on full details with flawless 60 FPS on each client. Now I am getting 1-3 FPS for both clients. There also were some glitches such as flickering and stripes of big white pixel blocks all other the screen. I noticed that if at least one client is on the map (not displaying space) there is no performance drop. Also when performance drops there is a spike in CPU usage to about 80% CPU time used (usually ranges from 20-25% with two clients running).

Here are some machine specs:
Windows 7 x64
16GB RAM
i5 2500k
Geforce GTX 560 Ti

No success re: Mac client. Patch version is the same, so I'm guessing the update hasn't made it to Mac yet. Any update on that?

I am afraid that we have no updates for the Mac yet. It will demand a bit more investigation from our side. I would advice Mac players who are having issues to reinstall the game to see if that resolves the issue.
