Hi Devs...

I've run through all of the suggestions above, and others made by players. The game still goes through the patch loop and says it cannot create shortcut.

Hi,

Have you tried going into the EVE folder and running the eve.exe or the ExeFile.exe without starting them from a shortcut? Do you still get into a patching loop?

Hi

I have also done as previous poster and even running from eve.ece or evefile.exe still goes into the patch loop.

launcher /forceupdate does not update me from 1.04 to 1.05 iether. Repair tool says all is fine but patch loops continues.

Not sure if it has been mentioned already:

Just had a closer look on why all launcher links are blank for me. The Internet Explorer process that is created uses this command line:
"C:\Program Files (x86)\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE" -nohome

Seems like it's missing the target URL and instead just opening an empty window without opening the home page (see command line toggle).

I had to delete the launcher sub directory and then run repair.exe to get launcher version 1.05 (it updates on next start; so guess repair.exe still restores 1.04 only).

3. Navigate to EVE/bin/ and run ExeFile.exe directly.
4. Please reply to this thread confirming this work around, if it is, in fact, successful.

A few caveats about this approach. If you encounter permission errors on files during the Repair process, they may not have been completely updated to their latest versions. Therefore, you may not be running a completely sane client, but you might be able to get in-game.

Thank you for bearing with us while we sort these issues out.

Hi,

You must have missed the few dozen posts all saying the same thing. I'll reiterate what has already been said in a more easy to understand manner.

The "Repair" tool does not work and itself throws up errors.

My requests and suggestions have thus far been ignored so I'll say the following with the grim hope that someone with some common sense reads it and acts upon it: Please roll back the server to Crucible 1.4 so you can spend more time working on these laughable and embarrassing problems which it has raised.

---

I forgot to add, I did actually follow your step by step process above even knowing full well it wouldn't work. It didn't work.

Considering this is a paid-for and legit application you're expecting a lot from your users in terms of scouring through forums and trying all of your "hacks" and "fixes" to get this buggy game to work. I dare if you passed this over to a release group such as Reloaded they'll have it working for you in a jiffy.

I think I had exact the same fitting in my old backup. I have tried to import this and one erro was:

File not valid

.....
Infested Dominix
.....
..

Now I have remembered me that I have sent some of my fittings to a person in EVE. The fittings I have sent are stored in my EVE-mail. At least I could restore some of my fittings. The old names of the modules are overwritten with the newer ones.
Strange. Sometimes I think CCP hates me. Shocked

Can you imagine how it looks like, when you warp into a mining-site full with jetcans?

Tell me... did anyone from QA came even close to this release?

Is there a kind of QA-protocol, or is QA finished in the moment that code just compiles well with under 50000 warnings?

Hi I notice Altarica has a similar issue, but no response yet to it:
at 6/7 initialising, the installer hangs. I see also that it interrupts my internet connection. I have set google chrome and firefox to default browser with the same results (closing these browser windows before starting the install).
Repair and a complete reinstall have not altered the issue either.
I install Eve on a second hard drive, not the HDD I have windows XP on.

Issue appear to have been fixed, ty

How long do we the paying customers have to wait for CCP to back this patch out?

There were ample warnings about this error posted to the Sisi thread for a couple of months now.

Why are we paying for developer stupidity at this point. It's not as if we didn't tell you about this problem repeatedly.

There has been posts about Sisilauncher failing to wokr with these same errors. There were posts about the new launcher giving the same errors. There were posts about the repair tool not fixing the issues on Sisi on top of the fact that complete client downloads were not fixing the issue because they had to be patched as soon as you finished downloading and running the client.

So how long do we have to wait for this patch to be backed out so the rest of us that pay for multiple accounts in some cases, can get in and play the game or is this where CCP says "Screw you" once again like they did last summer?

What does it take? A Jita protest to get your bloody attention? Oh wait.. we can't protest in Jita because we can't bloody login let alone PATCH THE BLOODY CLIENT!

Lolz you assume that CCP actually reads stuff in test server feedback forum when it is blatantly obvious they don't given the number of times issues like this are pointed out by players but still make it to TQ and then the Devs are befuddled about it.

I assume that they don't give a damn because I was one of those people that posted about this problem repeatedly.

Which begs the question CCP, why are we bothering to post this information to you on the test server forum threads if you aren't going to resolve the issues we are pointing out to you BEFORE you deploy this to TQ.

There were posts to your facebook about this patch being bad, there were posts to the sisi forums about this being bad.. This patch is a failure.

So how about backing it out NOW so that the rest of us can get back in and play until you figure out what you screwed up.

I'd like to point out the following thread.

https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=879880#post879880

This is one of many forums threads about Sisi having issues that are related to this very problem today.

So would someone at CCP mind telling me why any of us bother posting errors and problems regarding Sisi when you clearly ignore them.

See the date when this problem was posted? The response from CCP was not even to the original posted.

I'd like some answers here. Not about the problem but about why CCP isn't paying attention to our feedback so that problems like this don't happen on TQ.

This issue could have been avoided on the live server today had our input been listened to in the first place.

So I'd like some real answers from CCP as to what in hell we have to do in order to get them to start being accountable for screwing up a game we not only pay for but help them to debug and yet they ignore us and waste our time and our money with their developers who can't be bothered to READ and FIX errors that are POSTED.

What?

We play EVE for the hardship. It's a shame a significant amount of that hardship comes directly from CCP.

I use WINE in Ubuntu linux.

The patching seemed to work ok. I then hit PLAY on the launcher window and a few seconds later I get a runtime error on /EVE\bin\EVE.exe. I tried running the repair.exe (6.0MB) downloaded from the linked earlier in one of these threads by a dev. It did not help.

As a linux user I expect more problems than others but this is widespread. I don't have the moral to try anything further today.

Having these situations occur often enough will drive even the most veteran player from EVE. Really CCP.... I know you can do better.

Same here. Kubuntu, wine-1.4-rc6. Everything was fine last night, upgrade seems to have broken it.
