Can I haz Multiple Clientz Pleasz

Really.... on MAC, all clients clash because they share the same settings file. I have two monitors, one is smaller then the other and they need to have different settings

Please post instructions how to edit a file that points to EVE1 and EVE2 folders.

I tried launching the game after patching but instead I just get an error in the log file and repair.exe doesn't fix anything.
I would paste the error here but this crappy forum blocks me from doing that because it thinks it is html.

Windows 7 - 64bit; 8GB RAM; OS is up to date

I have one regular installation of EVE and another simple copy (copy and paste) of EVE with a configuration to the second screen on my computer (I use two monitors).
Patching works fine for both clients; but it is not possible to configure the launcher on my second (just copy and paste) EVE.
I want, that the launcher closes itself after starting EVE. With the regular installation it works fine but when I click at the "Setup" button of the launcher, nothing happens. Strange. What?

- Browsing my saved personal fittings is only possible if I click twice the button. But all fittings are gone / deleted.
- Why the hell did you rename my shield hardeners? Who is that id!ot who wants to rename all my stuff?

Are you running the Launcher from a path which contains a hyphen? If so, the work-around is to either remove the hyphen, or remove the .patch file in the directory (assuming you've successfully patched to the latest TQ version). This has been fixed in 1.06, which is currently live on SISI. Hope that helps Smile.

Thanks for the prompt answer, removing hyphen did the trick! All other patches were already uploaded (fast I might say) and working fine on one main and 3 linked characters.

You could try to go in there and copy your old settings into the new folder which should fix this problem.

ARGH!

What you say makes tragically sense. The launching icon knew what server to connect to (i.e. "/server:localhost", with a local port ssh-tunneled to the proxy). The new Launcher decided on its own that a direct connection was more appropriate.

So, now I have two dirs in the %localappdata%\CCP\EVE dir:

c_program_files_ccp_eve_localhost
c_program_files_ccp_eve_tranquility

With the old settings safely out of harm, where the Launcher doesn't use them! Sad

You can add this to the known issues, I guess.

Ah, another thing: the alpha sorting in the skill list of the character sheet is gone. They are unsorted now. Minor cosmetic annoyance. Straight

I have patched and updated, when I click the launcher I get the new updater screen which says it's ready. I click play and get the EVE Crucible picture...then back the the updater window.

I have restarted, tried repair and still nothing, no error messages either, just nothing.

Do you have a hyphen in the pathname of your second copy? If the path name contains a hyphen and the directory contains a .patch file, the Settings Menu will not open. The work-around is to change one or the other (ie remove the patch or remove the hyphen). This has been fixed in version 1.06 of the Launcher.

How can we download the newest version of the launcher? Launching the game, the existing launcher, or the repair file is broken for me right now.

I tried downloading repair tool from here http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/344/repair.exe. and run it
it seemed as it completed ok but after i pressed "close" it reported an error and directed me to another log file (repair.exe.log), which has this:

Now when i try to run eve i get an error:

File not found: D:\games\CCP\EVE\bin\_PyFreeTypeP.dll

I have the game installed in the D:\games\ccp

You are right! The path for my regular installation is: "C:\Games\Eve" and the second is "C:\Games\Eve - Kopie".
I deleted the "EVE_Online_344784-349998.patch" in the regular EVE installation but it does not help. I will reboot my PC, try it again and if that does not help I will rename my copy of EVE.

Thank you "CCP Donut Golem". Big smile

ADDITION: Now I have found the .patch file in the "KOPIE" path, deleted it and it works fine. Thanks again. Problem solved.

I've posted about this very same problem with Sisi

This patch wasn't ready to be deployed because tons of people had reported the issue that is causing the problem here but CCP failed to take proper notice

So here it is once again CCP.. You screwed up and this same error has carried over from Sisi that we told you was happening in the first place.

Idiots. FIX THIS

Please just give us some information so we are not left in the dark.
I notice a lot of the Win7 user's posts are left unanswered.

Don't get me wrong I know you just don't come up with a solution like poof right away.
But atleast let us know what's going on and if you are going to let us patch manually or we have to wait it out.

Still nothing, 30,279 players online and I'm not one of them.

Seems to be no issue other than IT DOESN'T WORK!

Did I miss a repair patch or something? I mean you guys are fixing the issue right or do I just sit here till the 15th and hope the next patch fixes it?
