Launcher freezes at: (1/3) Creating EVE_Online_3344784-349998.patch 15.0%

Repair tool freezes at: (3/7) Downloading recipes: Initializing ...

No errors in either case, and no activity visible in the Task Manager. In both cases, MY NETWORK CONNECTION STOPS WORKING. I cannot connect to anything using my browser or even ping other machines on my local network. So I'm thinking of course the launcher and repair tool freeze: they can't access the files they need on the CCP server. Once I kill the launcher or repair tool my network connection returns.

I'm running Windows XP 32-bit SP3

Were you running version 1.04 or 1.05? If you're at 1.04, please restart the Launcher to receive an update, which may fix this issue.

The patching I did was unsuccessful. Here's what happened:

1. After the initial patch to get the launcher (v 1.04), I clicked "Play" from the launcher.

2. The client launched and showed that it was incompatible. A dialog box appeared with the message "The update has been downloaded. The client will not close and the update process begin."

3. The Update Setup dialog box appeared but once it was finished a warning message appeared "Multiple instances of the launcher cannot be run from the same directory. This instance will now close".

4. Clicking on the "Play" from the launcher (still v1.04) resulted in the same process repeating itself (steps 2 to 3).

5. Running the repair tool from the Eve client folder ended with the message "Completed successfully. The Eve Online client was successfully repaired". Starting the Launcher showed that it remained at v1.04

6. Directly starting eve using the eve.exe application resulted in steps 2 to 3 repeating.

7. Starting the Launcher did not auto-patch it to v1.05 like CCP Donut said earlier.

My Eve folder resides on a different drive than my windows 7 drive. Not sure if its relevant, just saying.

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

Gets to 2.7% of upload and gives me a long list of errors and says client update was unsuccessful

Have you tried restarting the launcher? If that does not work, I suggest running the repair tool.

Yes, i have tried the repair tool and now it plain and simply stopped working. Get another error saying i cant run multiple blah blah blah... Why are we fixing your mistakes... why is there so many problems with this and all you guys seem to be doing is spitting out usless information as to how its now OUR fault or mistake its not working. Really ????

Fix this and make another update patch where 60k different ppl getting individual errors dont have to individually fix thier own issues caused by your patch...

Ok, launched my client as usual. Started up, downlaoded the update, installed the launcher. The launcher did its thing, claimed to update my client. Cool. Clicked play. Client launched as normal the login screen. However, the client thinks its still running the previous version. Ok, maybe I missed something, launched the old patcher again, which relaunched the launcher, which in turn does nothing. It still says the client is up to date. Tried launching again. I'm stuck in one giant loop of redownloading the launcher and the launcher claiming my client is up to date. Other than being stuck in a loop up redowloading the launcher patch, everything is running normally. No crashes, no dumps, etc.

I tried running the repair tool, but the same thing keeps happening.

I'm on a very low bandwidth connection so I can't redownload the client installer and start fresh. OS is Windows 7 x64.

Does this also happen if you go into your EVE directory and just start eve.exe directly? If so, then your shortcut file might be messed up and I'd suggest deleting it and recreating it.

I've tried launching directly from the exe file, deleting the exe and running the repair tool, deleting all cached information, as well as reinstalling hte launcher itself. Still does the same thing, launches the previous version and starts the patching process over again. Something I noticed when 'exporting' the file the launcher downloaded: EVE_Online_342397-342397.patch. Why would you patch to the same verison over again? The launcher is failing to find an availible update and continues to tell me my client is up to date.

You broke research agents, request mission from a research agent = crash to desktop. Try it!

Sound bug.- Before the patch the sounds of your launchers/guns firing used to decrease the further you scrolled out the viewing range of your ship. It no longer does this, you get the same sound sat on your ship as you do viewing it from miles away which is an absolute pain if your not trying to wake the nipper up.

I downloaded the update, and in the process of installing it told me that something went wrong so I ran the repair.exe file in the EVE folder. That went fine, but now when I try to start the client it says

"Your EVE client installation may have modified, damaged, or corrupt files. Please run repair.exe located in the EVE game directory or reinstall the game client. File not found: _PyFreeTypeP.dll"

You need to change the Icons to the pictures of the new rookie ships, which are very nice btw. However, change the appearance of my rifters AT YOUR PERIL CCP!

This is a known issue and we are working on it as we speak, so expect a fix soon.

We are also aware of the 'Warp to' option missing from the agent conversation window and working on a fix as well.
A workaround for this is to use the 'Warp to' option from the right click menu while in space.

An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

Try downloading the repair.exe from here:
http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/344/repair.exe
The copy that into your game folder and run it from there.

Repair.exe downloaded, copied to game folder and run, claims to have repaired the client.

The repair still hasn't fixed the original runtime error incurred by the new patch however.

Any further suggetsions?

Many thanks.

On win7, could access Launcher 1.05 settings the first time it came up. Cannot access settings anymore even after multiple re-starts of launcher. Mouse over settings button will light-up the button but does not open the settings window.

Thanks for the confirmation and letting us know that it is being looked at.

Just wanted to say I don't know what other changes you made but please don't touch or undo them as this patch seems to have improved performance of my client a lot on on the whole happy here. Smile

Hi

It took me almost 2h to update the client with new launcher. It was not caused by slow computer, disk, cache or internet connection.

Originally I had eve installed in local user (not admin) directory and I was using it in that way for years, and upates (run as admin) did update the right directory.

But today the new launcher did "update" not only the direcotry of my local user, but it does copy/recreate the whole data installation (thats why it took so long!) in admin account as well.

Im using Windows XP SP3. And i run game as non-admin user, and of course patcher with admin privilages. [runas popup]

I tried downloading repair tool from here http://cdn1.eveonline.com/client_repair/344/repair.exe. and run it

Now when i try to run eve i get an error:
