Just wondering since:

- Most of the bots are gone
- Drone Mins are apparently going
- I haven't seen a hulk mining in months
- The few miners there are out there get regularly ganked
- Mining is inherently dull and there's many many many easier ways to make considerably more money.
- EDIT: OH yeah and reprocessing got a kick in the teeth by CCP a while ago too

Someone needs to pick up a mining laser cus I'm sure as hell not doing it, ans I have ships ans Mods to build.

Don't worry, my alts will take care of it... :p

But, you know... my alts was in few corps that were in all indy alliances... and we mined A LOT.
And then suicide ganks started... ok... but then war decs started... and... all our mining stop and alliance is dead now.
So... thats a balance... you kill miners, or don't give them opportunity to mine and price will go up... and vice versa.
That way its all balanced.

With mineral prices on the up I recently busted out my mining barge. I'm sure there are others who will do the same.

I lied :o

Meh… the mineral basket is still under-priced by about 1k ISK. Trit needs to rise by another 0.26 ISK or so before the apocalypse comes.

The market will take care of it, as prices go up more people will start mining and then prices will start stabilizing again. Why do people always get over dramatic with this stuff?

Yes, because when mineral prices skyrocket because of mineral shortages, mining will still be the same profit, amrite? Twisted

I think you'll need to take an Economics 101. Specifically about supply and demand. :)

Trit and pye should normalize to price range between 4.5-5.5 isk/unit... mex has already reached the peak and other minerals are soon to follow... isogen and bc minerals are still somewhat undervalued.

Most experienced miners tell me that even when mining was good it could only make them about 40 Mill an hour. 40 Mill an hour is nothing, I **** 40 mill an hour.

So, no you're not right. There are far better and easier ways to earn money. I guess you need to take basic maths.

So does this mean you're not going to be out there mining? I can hardly see why squatting all day long would be so much better.

And what's wrong with squatting? Shocked

40 mil ISK an hour, for mining, an activity that scales far better than missions. Incursions will be nerfed, missions are a lot more effort than mining, and you cannot run 5, 10 or 20 accounts doing missions, while 10 accounts mining is easily achievable.

Bubble the gates and have scouts. If any hostiles show up, fleet warp your hulks to a POS.

Trouble shows up quite a lot more frequently these days though. Especially when someone gets wind that there's a guy duel-boxing ten accounts in one system. I'm saying you're wrong, just saying it's not that simple.

Anyway, I'm only speculating. Assuming the drone mins nerf is true, mins on the whole will be less available then at any time in recently history. A lot of mineral faucets have been turned off since mining was last profitable, and ganking miners has become a hell of a lot more popular.

If nothing else, we're in for interesting times.

Translation: keep your reprocessing alts ready as people keep listing their new-built ships at the old mineral prices… P

Mining is inherently relaxing and there are many more click-intensive ways to make a little bit more money for the effort.

Reprocessing is fine. In fact, I'd say reprocessing needs a good whack with the nerf bat (why do navies have better quality refineries than mining corporations?).

Mining's fine. As mineral prices go up, more miners will get their fleets out of mothballs to make some easy ISK.

…also, the skill requirements for the Covetor are coming down, so that's a neat boost to the low-key/semi-newbie miner that will help smooth things out.

If CCP doesn't touch the market it will take care of itself. Min and ship prices will indeed rise a bit but more people will try to take advantage of that and start mining again, then it will balance out.

May I put forward this wonderful idea

1. Remove hulks and reprocessing Twisted
2. Remove insurance and wrecks drop nothing Twisted
3. Seed Minerals from NPC sources at insane daily amounts...trit 100 isk, pyre 150 isk, zyndrine 25,000 isk, morphite 250,000 Twisted plus the rest of the minerals
4. ?!?!?!
5. HIGH RISK! Now you are going to actually lose something and lose it hard. Rifters are the new hurricane price, enjoy being risk adverse and grinding isk to replace it Lol
