Target from Local

I would like the ability to Ctrl-Click (or some such combo) on the "local chat's" member's list to target a pilot's ship.

Essentially, I'd treat it as a second overview that's color coded by affiliation and auto-sorted alphabetically.

I don't see any potential problems with this... but if you do please let me know...

instead of making local MORE USEFUL, i'd rather nerf it to hell and abck, and just have a reiterated overview.

also, you knwo you can switch tabs in the overview right? if you just want hostiles shown, and order them by closest to you to furthest away, you can do that? seriosuly, there is nothing you can implement on local that overview cant already do for you.

Stupid idea... No need, so no point in wasting time on this.

I'm up-to-date on overview settings and the options it provides.

In larger engagements, it is often necessary to sort by pilot name (or ship type) to timely find targets. If you are flying a support ship, where managing the enemy's range is also important, then having two overviews (one sorted by distance to target), and one sorted by ship type and/or name would be extremely useful. Yes, you can switch tabs and/or re-sort, but if I could use local to target with as well as the overview, then I'd be even happier.

This doesn't break anything, nor really buff local. It does turn local into something more akin to a "second" overview, but if you're serious about replacing local with an intel tool, what do you think you’re gonna get? Delayed local is a masturbatory fantasy. Realistically, you're probably going to get a "second" overview that represents a new intel tool...

IMO, I would prefer local be replaced with an actual intel tool that provides a sortable lists of pilots, ship types, and affiliation for those you have intel on.

This suggestion does not imbalance anything… and if you feel it does, please explain how…

If you feel it's just a waste of CCP resources to implement it, and you want to vehemently state it... you won't hurt my feelings...

i do apologize, i may ahve reacted to your proposal somewhat hastily. i was in lowsec browsing the forums (yeah, ****** move) so was just responding to a quick skim of the reading.

Using intel to be more similar to an overview would be a good use yes, but then this would also 100% bar you from being in a trade hub while under wardec, woudlnt it? as all your opponents would just have hostiles moved to the top of the list, would that not maybe be more harmful than helpful? at least on the highsec side, though it woudl most definetly be an improvement for nullsec fleet management.

If your pew pew revolves around catching newbish carebears missioning in busy systems, I would think a sortable local that allows them to put enemies instantly to the top of the list would be a significant hindrance to your gankage... If CCP gives full overview functionality to local, this would be something that needs to be examined..
