Best way to train?

So I have a plan setup in EVEmon. Roughly 150-ish days. Alot of the skills are level 1-4, with a few more going to 5. Ive got the optimized attributes already setup, and am wondering what the best way to go at would be??

Should I train from the lowest time to the highest, getting me the least trained skills first, or should I train to get into the ship I want and then train lowest train time skills? Or am I thinking of this in an entirely wrong way?

Personal call really, and depends what you want to do. Going for L4 missions or mining or just pvp?

for instance, if missions, I'd actually go for the ship/fitting skills first, then train the long stuff so you're able to make some isk while training.

In a number of cases, I've been only training up to level 4 and leaving the long haul level 5 skills for later. This has allowed me to get a variety of decent skills under my belt fairly quickly.

Sometimes it also makes sense from a bang-for-your-time perspective. If you can get 3% more direct damage from 3 days of training or improve a couple of things like accuracy and range several levels each in that 3 days, you're probably better off going for the accuracy and range as an overall improvement.

Once you've got a solid core base, you can do the things you want to do with some competency and then slot in those high duration level 5 skills to refine out and get maximum bonus possible.

Pretty much that.

However, if a skill is particularly useful, it might be advisable to get it to V:

Drones V will open up the wonderful Drone Interfacing skill, which effectively gives you another drone per level, for example.
Other useful skills that you might want to have maxed out sooner rather than later are the Cap, CPU and Powergrid skills.

There's a slight danger in training all the lower levels first, but only slight. Getting to a point in your remap when you only have 15+ day skills left can be a bit of a letdown. Otherwise, though, short term versatility ftw.

Thanks much for the tips. Ive decided to train into "flying" the ship I want first then training up the fitting skills for it. Doing so will allow me to fly the lesser version with lesser modules while still flying a similar ship to what the end goal will be.

I figure once I get into the ship, I assume most of my weapon skills should be 3s at minimum before I actually fly it into pvp. Thats the plan anyways, and will only take a couple weeks worth of training to get to that point.
