Following up on my last report, still no issues found running in Linux - the Launcher was able to patch the Sisi install and run it without difficulty on Linux (Wine 1.4rc5 on Xubuntu 11.10 64-bit with NVidia graphics drivers 295.20).

I do keep my Sisi install in a completely different wine prefix than my TQ install (many Linux users don't so I can't vouch for how well it works for them).

I'm also able to use the existing desktop shortcut that launches "eve.exe" through Wine, I didn't have to make a new one to use the launcher.

Win7-64 bit
Using the launcher exe itself gives m a failed build. Sisilauncher worked to clean up and install the patch but install process is actioned outside the launcher. Until I see a out of date build and installing patch moving the process bar with a way to see the install steps like on the current sisi launcher. The launcher is a failier also until you can see both the sisi and TQ stats.

If i dont know something about EVE. I check https://wiki.eveonline.com/en/wiki/ISK_The_Guide

I know you guys don't support it any more but do you have any stats on how it handles on Linux through Wine?

Edit: Ignore, just saw the above post.

Said it before and say it again. I DO NOT WANT AN AUTORUN MENU WHEN I CLICK THE SHORTCUT TO LAUNCH THE GAME!

Looking at the screenshots on the dev blog, I do not see a clock. A clock on the launcher that displays the current Eve time and date would be awesome, and save a lot of trouble often resulting from USTZ op times. (2:00 on Sunday.... I mean Saturday.)

It's kinda of a side topic, but having ALL relevant files INSIDE the eve client folders would be fantastic. Among all games I really praise wow for handling things that way.

Makes no sense to have to dig to the very end of windows files to find my screenshots. It's also wasting space on c:\ and it prevents the game from being used on an USB drive and moved from place to place at will.

Read it earlier, but want to extend it. Can you make it multi account. I know , I know it would give issues, but I for me would like ONE launcher, showing me all my accounts. You enter the credentials once and the launcher keeps them filed (secret etc)
So to launch I only launch the launcher :) give maybe a new user/password just for the launcher and from there see all my accounts (or *smiles* all my toons to choose from) I could live if this would work for one client, would love you to death if you could do it even multi client wise :p

Please add a "minimize to tray" functionality + "auto update everything and dont ask me any questions" - I'd like to have it running all the time, keeping Eve up to date, like Steam does to other games. I do NOT want to click any buttons, accept eulas and go through other unnecessary crap.

Switch characters without relogging. Otherwise the thing is for n00bs only (new players)

Are you going to remove admin privileges requirement in final updater version ( since current TQ production patches don't need them anymore and I was kind of hoping this to be the new sane trend ) ?

I dont like it reasons:

1. No multiclient suport, i wil need like 5 ot 7 lauchers to play.
2. No suport for multiple characters on one acount, no not posibul swith chars witout reloging a game.

BASICLY THOS ARE THE REASONS WAY I DONT LIKE IT.

Launcher still can't work correctly from non-admin users on Win XP

- ask for admin login when patching
- without patching run eve in wrong envirounment ( ask license confirmation, but direct eve start doesn't, don't see old logins and config and etc )

Will check on Win7 later

i agree with eperor.

if this means that we'll need multiple launchers, when running multiple accounts, then some old hardware might have problems running these.

Hi guys,

A suggestion for the launcher - please please consider giving it the ability to manage sisi accounts side by side with tq accounts...

What I mean is this.

1. Open launcher
2. Select icon for test server
3. If no sisi install found, install and patch it - including asking where the user wants the files dumped.
4. log into sisi.
5. Open or better alt-tab to launcher
6. Select icon for TQ (default option on load)
7. update / patch / install as needed
8. log into game in second client running.

This should be a hub and make all the dirty work of getting on tq, patching, installing, fixing broken installs easy on us and preferably managed from a single instance of the launcher. It should make sisi access super easy without having to manually install a second client and set the server address in a custom desktop link.

These simple (on the grand scale of things) changes to usability would be a boon to new and old players alike, and truly leverage the power of having a launcher.

It will be great for eve the option of changing characters without exiting and closing EvE client.

EvE launcher is a great improvement i think, a download manager for eve client and patches is good for the game and good for the eve users. The old system of loading client, patching, closing client, reloading client, patching again, closing, reloading, is tedious...

Second what a few other people have suggested: multiple client support! I'd especially appreciate it if you can tell it to load one client on one monitor, and another on a second, etc. Preferably without the windows borders! "Fixed Window" style.

When I try to run the launcher I get an error saying I don't have permission, even though this is (as far as I know) the main user account for the my computer. The launcher runs if I log in on the administrator account, though.

As far as I can tell my user account should have full access. I guess I'm just a windows newb, help would be appreciated.

Edit: after logging off my user account, logging in on my admin account, and opening the launcher, it now works on my regular user account. I don't know if this is due to simply relogging or if opening it first on the admin account was necessary.
