sov space for small alliances accessible only through wormhole space

Currently you have to be part of a large powerblock to own sov space. It should stay like that for current sov space. However, it would be great if there was also sov space for small alliances.

The new sov space should not be directly linked to known space. Instead it should only be accessible through wormholes that only link to wormhole space. The new sov space should have several seperate constellations. By default there should be no stargates in new sov space. However, it should be possible to build stargates that link to systems within the same sov space constellation. Basically you would have to find the systems of one constellation via wormholes first and then you could link them with stargates. It should not be possible to link two constellations with a stargate. Cyno jumps would only be possible within the same constellation.

In new sov space it should be possible to build outposts and CSAAs. It should be possible to mine and harvest gas. There should be wormhole sov upgrades. There should be no combat anomallies.

Mainly new sov space should be a strategic base for wormhole access while requiring huge investments into the infrastructure to "build up" your constellation. Those new sov space constellations would be part of the wormhole galaxy but for some reason sleepers are not occupying those system. Maybe sleeper could raid those constellations from time to time with sub capital and capital sleeper ships.

something is coming soon(tm).

Look thru the forums/devblogs for "small holding"

One of the bitter points of a good bittervet is the realisation that all those SP don't really do much, and that the newbie is having much more fun with what little he has. - Tippia

So Basically you want space where you can hold it with little or no fear of being invaded. Ok with the systems after sleeper space but not to CSAA. Carebears belong in empire space.

I like the idea, and I read up on everything I could find on it a while back.

Unfortunately, I saw no indication it would be introduced any time soon. It came across as an idea they were considering, but then forgot about in favor of other things.

Oh, and the search term to find it has no space, look for 'smallholding'

Yeah, it fell off the radar a bit when CCP realised we weren't going to suffer another ****** expansion.... however, being an '06 toon, you should be very familiar with soon(tm).

I'm sorry...

I don't like your idea for one specific reason... SOV.

I have no problems with new "unconnected" pockets of space, but giving them the benefits of sov AND simultaneously making them extremely difficult to invade is just poor game mechanics.

If you want the "unonnected" pockets, leave them as NPC space. I think they could fit well within Lore as Sansha home systems, and they could have lots of interesting boons that aren't even available to sov holders (Incursion NPC plexes with good rewards). However, because these sites are hard to access, the stations within them should all be NPC stations, so they are difficult regions to control too.

In short:
Yes to "unconnected" pockets of space.
No to allowing SOV in them.

Yep, it fits quite nicely with my hopes we would have flying cars and robot servants by the year 2000.

Now, thanks to some car makers, we at least have a consolation prize: (a car with a robot head that talks to you)

Just google 'Pivo', and you'll see it. (Just in car shows so far I heard)
