Alright, I've been in paragon soul for about 3 days now. Throughout these days I've seen Obvious bots be Obvious, and I don't know how much is being done about it.

In 3 SEPARATE systems, I've found 5 pilots in each, with the exact same setup in each, 4 Drakes, and a noctis; WITH THE EXACT SAME PoS LAYOUT AND IN THE SAME CORP.

If this isn't obvious botting I don't know what is. and I'm doing everything I can to stop it.

Is CCP doing everything within it's power to stop bots?

Did you report them?

Edit: Watched the video. Nice kills but you need to report said bots to get them out of the game.

Actually, no. Reporting them doesn't do anything.

Been reporting the same mining bots for 3 months now, repeatedly, every time I see them in local. Nothing.

The 'report bot' button is likely just there to make people feel like they've done something but leads nowhere.

It becomes obvious when you spend weeks ganking the same bots over and over for a period of months.

Did you ever stop to think that perhaps they are still there because they are NOT bots?

No, self preservation and common sense dictates that if you keep getting ganked, Move to another system. I fully support the Goon-a-gedden that will rid high sec of bots. At least make ice mining more profitable for builders.

the funny thing is you can even see the pattern and still nothing happens with him. pattern being (54s, 51, 37, 38, 42, 59, 42, 59, 42, 59, 42, 59, 42, 59, 41, 55, 55, after here it repeats: 54, 51, 37, 38 and so on)

is nice too, besides being an recycled scamming alt (he recycles 3 different of them each every month or two) his pattern is even more obvious (40s and 30s alternating). still why would a gm do something about that... These are so obvious bots that their main characters should have been banned long time ago but well...

CCP needs to add Botting career on their new web page.
Its the most popular career in EVE... so...
And when CCP do nothing then its legit...

Just look at old forums.
GD first thread on first page.
And there is much more threads about botting.
And all is left on promises that CCP will do something.

you can do this with a CCP sanctioned gaming keyboard. Not considered to be botting.

However, it IS considered spamming, so just report it correctly =P

that is wrong, it is only allowed if it is not automated, if you look at the characters and the timedifference between every of their messages you will notice that these are automated, which is not allowed.

if it werent automated there wouldnt be a pattern which repeats itself all the time. it is not allowed to record a makro which will post the same thing all the time without the requirement of user input. It is allowed to just press one button and have a makro post the whole message, the thing is it is only allowed if the user always has to press that one button. But if theres a pattern in the behaviour without any randomness it is sure to be a bot, no user would be able to hit the same key exactly every 47 seconds for 4 hours or even longer

I live in hope of the day that CCP decides to get serious about this problem, and as has been pointed out many many many times before most of these bots aren't particularly hard to spot from a player perspective, it seems that CCP is either unable to spot them (lol) or unwilling to do anything about it.

What I suggest, and has been proving successfull in the drone regions atm is getting an alt put into one of the larger botting empires,( you know those guys with lot's of xxxxx's in their alliance name and rely on PL to protect their operations), and use you're alt to make the tackle on the bot (they don't cloak/POS up for blues) then bring your main(s) in and take over the tackle. Get your alt to leave system, let the bot live for 15 minutes so your alt doesn't appear on the KM, rinse and repeat. Bonus - look for the Golem and Tengu bots, they often drop lot's of shinny loot, so you fight the bot problem, get KM's AND make a decent living. I don't do this personally at the moment, but I know guys who are, and they are having ton's of fun.

You're both idiots. You're correct in the sense that CCP RMT's in the form of PLEX, but to suggest a company is a)botting themselves and b) actively involved in the illegal RMT trade is beyond pants-made-of-tinfoil-on-head-********.

If CCP was involved in such things, why would they bother botting when they could just "magic" the ISK into existence, and why would they sell ISK through illegal channels when they do very well with PLEX? Not to mention the shitstorm and PR disaster it would create if ever found. Next you'll be sprouting crap about how it's actually CCP hacking accounts and stealing people's assets.
