While I personally prefer the black background for practicalities sake, I was willing to go along with your view and examine pros and cons until you posted this. Now I think STFU self entitled douche.

Thanks for the honesty. I didn't mean to offend. Just wondering why an option wasn't presented. It seems like a single line of code could solve this problem.

Its actually sensible idea not to give people option to change the background.

People don't like to have too many options. Few modifications... sure. But if the list of possible switches is 10 pages long..... who is going to set that up?

if you have time to take in the scenery while probing, you have terrible probing skills and/or are doing it wrong.

Because when you're staring at a bunch of white and green dots for hours on end, seeing a black screen with no texture gets abrasive super fast. I enjoyed the old bg textures because in a way they were soothing, and it's easier to focus. I can understand why some powergamers might want to have a blank screen, but for us average podders the option to have the old bg back would be awesome.

Train Astrometrics to 2, trust me.

they changed it intentionally like months ago... most of us welcomed it as an awesome change as it makes it easier to see what your doing in space...

but yes, I agree... eve needs a sub menu under menus (ESC) that you can open up with a huge list of things to turn on or off :) that would be nice

Supercap nerf - change ewar immunity https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=194759 Module activation delay! https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1180934

Doesnt take that long to find a site...
once found, you go run it and youre no longer probing.

Only place you could plausibly by probing for hours is in WHs.
Even there, i've been living in WHs for a long time and even assuming youre probing a totally fresh chain, you can fully probe a dozen or more systems in 2 hours.
vast majority of chains will be shorter but even if not, youre spending 10-15min per system max if youre a decent prober with most systems being in the 5-10min range of actual probing time so you get plenty of breaks.

Please change to a dark navy blue holosphere with a faint grid layout Grey on black doesnt work too well.

In WHs? That's not even close to true. What an exaggeration.

Like i said, i can see why powergamers might favor efficiency over comfort, but that's not the majority of players i'm sure.

It's really not, maybe you need to practice probing a bit.

This could be related to whatever keeps turning my avatar background solid black.

I don't always use hax. But when I do, it's because I'm an NPC.. http://i.imgur.com/PUZou.jpg
