The background of the probe ui used to be the color of whatever system you were in. Now it is just black. How do i fix this?

It's yet another of CCP's 'improvements' to the scan interface.

So it's intentional? Is there any way to turn it back?

CCP changed it to a Mood background. Means you feel tense, nervous, harassed, overworked.

The new black bg DEFINITELY makes me feel more anxious. Especially when doing something as arduous as placing probes around, a black background is probably the worst possible choice.

So is there a way to turn it back to the "nebula" bg?

It might mean that space is so black, because it's so empty, like our hearts, because nobody cares.

Makes me feel like playing WoD for some funny reason.

because the former was so bright that the first thing you did was to try to rotate to a spot where you actually could see the probes.

how to fix eve: 1) remove ECM 2) rename dampeners to ECM 3) add new anti-drone ewar for caldari 4) give offgrid boosters ongrid combat value

This so very much! Many system backgrounds interfered with the visibility of bookmarks, sigs and probes.

Black background is a huge improvement <3

If anyone changes the black background to the probe interface you will have my axe to deal with.

Actually this is a good thing. Some systems before when you turned the scanner just so blinded you with a green tinged very bright light.

Black background.....much better!

I don't often combat probe but the last time I did, with the colored backgrounds, I literally could not see any of the initial results save for yellow. I tested it a couple of times on a ship that I knew exactly where it was and I still couldn't find the initial results making combat probing completely dysfunctional for me.

Don't ban me, bro!

I can understand why some people like the black background more, but not giving us an OPTION is just asinine, and lazy.

why the hell does it matter...
if you have time to take in the scenery while probing, you have terrible probing skills and/or are doing it wrong.

Because when you're staring at a bunch of white and green dots for hours on end, seeing a black screen with no texture gets abrasive super fast. I enjoyed the old bg textures because in a way they were soothing, and it's easier to focus. I can understand why some powergamers might want to have a blank screen, but for us average podders the option to have the old bg back would be awesome.

While I personally prefer the black background for practicalities sake, I was willing to go along with your view and examine pros and cons until you posted this. Now I think STFU self entitled douche.
