The complete and utter lack of any tech info makes helping you impossible so Ill just start at the beginning and ask did you turn it off and then on?

I don't always use hax. But when I do, it's because I'm an NPC.. http://i.imgur.com/PUZou.jpg

You could try minimizing/removing all your graphics options and see if it still crashes and updating your graphics drivers.

Well there is at least one known crash issue with the driver you're currently using. Not sure if you have the exact same issue though, but it's at least something.

Sorry for the late reply.

The PhysX Beta Driver is indeed the issue, we have made NVIDIA aware of it and the problem is already fixed internally and on test servers. Unfortunately I cant give you a proper release date yet but the next patch will include the fix.

If you are experiencing this issue it is advised to deactivate Station Environments until the next patch.

we have found the issue (with the help from Nvidia) and it is because of the beta driver from Nvidia. we have a fix for the issue that is ready and waiting in the staging branch and i'm hoping to get deployed next week. i can't confirm 100% that it will be released next week, but i'm 99.9% sure we will get it out 1 way or another.

of course the work around is to remove the beta driver and install the officially released driver from Nvidia, but where's the fun in that right ? :)

hopefully i will get you more info on Monday.

( in a moment of laziness i'm going to copy this response into the other thread about the issue).

Listen, calm down. You have a good PC it seems. So what you need to do is make a ticket using the website and also try and troubleshoot your stuff and google possible solutions. I am sure it will work out just fine, just have a little patience, as of now you don't even know if it is your problem, and it most likely is.

So make a ticket, I wish you the best and I hope to see you in space soon Big smile

If you want you can also add more info, check the correct forums for these problems on this website and perhaps someone can help you sooner. cheer up!

So, the fact that there are about 40k peeps happily online at pretty much anytime during 23 hours of each day completely passes you by, as it does those idiots you fix a computer for and 3 months later it happens again and they blame you.

Id ban your ass now, save the grief to come later.

HP-Pavilion <-- start there.

Good Luck.

Simply reverting back, as in removing the driver and installing the new after that, shouldn't actually even fix the issue if it's the same one, since it leaves the problem component in your computer. You need to remove the driver, reboot, use a driver cleaner to get rid of anything remaining, reboot and then install the older working driver. You might not have the same issue though, so it not a guaranteed solution. It's just something you can try yourself to get around the problem until a fix is deployed.

You might also want to use the proper channels and tools to help them find out the problem and fix the issue. Issues do popup in the game from time to time and this time you were in that minority who got shafted by it. You could also try and petition them to move you past the character creation process, so you can at least play and accesss the skill queue. Making that petition now might also help in any reinbursement claim, since there is then verifiable record of you trying to access the game, being unable to do it and getting access to the game and service you paid for. Just try not to vent your frustration on the CS people too much.

Anyway good luck and I hope you get it sorted.

Here is what I did to workaround this. I didn't want to wait until tomorrow (https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=67632&find=unread) for the patch.

1 -Remove current NVIDIA PhysX driver by going to Control Panel > Uninstall or change program > NVIDIA PhysX System Software x.xx.xxxx
2 - Download current NVIDIA driver 285.62
3a - Install NVIDIA driver 285.62 (You can do clean install; however, if you have any custom settings or profiles, they will be wiped) This step gets you back to a working PhysX driver version
3b - (Optional) I wanted to be on current beta drivers for other games so I downloaded latest beta driver, 290.53 and did a custom driver install and did not install latest PhysX driver

These steps worked for me and I'm happy that I can get into the game now!

Hope this helps

Reverting to an older main video driver won't do anything. According to the quote from CCP person, you need to remove and revert the PhysX driver.

You are correct as it is not the main video driver that is the culprit; rather it's one of the additional drivers. This is why I reverted to the current released NVIDIA driver to pick up the older PhysX driver. When I went back to my beta drivers, I chose NOT to update the PhysX driver.
