Whoah, I wasn't expecting such a positive feedback. We are simply fixing some things that we broke so that we can move forward. Tbh we've had our head somewhat placed in the lowermost segment of the large intestine and are finally coming out for air.

Anyway, in regards to questions for a boarding animation, given how a dramatic event that is, you can always go and watch this, which we made a while ago. It was supposed to underscore how painful and nasty it is for a capsuleer to emerge from his pod and be nothing but a vulnerable weak piece of clonemeat.

We opted for no cut scene ingame, simply because it happens so often. Way back in beta we had this beautiful 2001-esque docking sequence, every time you wanted to dock with a station. Ofc, after docking a few times, it became tedious as hell, so we decided to sacrifice immersion on the altar of usability. Same applies for a pod-exit cut scene.

The screenshots didn't show the exact buttons you use to board and unboard your ship, they will be placed close to the undock button on your neocom most likely.

It may take a couple of weeks for these changes to hit Singularity. I can't make promises on the exact date at the moment. But in any case, they are live on what we refer to as "MAIN", which is the internal development branch, and what we see internally when we fetch latest code. So, in typical programmer-speak: "It works on my machine!".

In regards to the Cyno effect, it's not an exact copy of the old effect, it's still supposed to communicate the hadron-tearing disruption of the time space continuum being violated. Or something along those lines. Let's see what people think once it's on Singularity, and we'll take it from there.

tbh having an animation while the undocking bar is loading would be nice... i prefer in a sandbox havings option and if i wanted to i could opt to turn this graphic off... power to the players i say...

Will they be staying, or will they be 'redesigned' again? Please say they are staying.

Why wouldn't you want them redesigned? Eventually they'll have to be. You expect to see like 8-bit graphics in games in 2018 simply because you're terrified of change? Obviously they need to be done more carefully, and in better fashion, but I can't imagine any graphics staying in place in a long-lasting MMO for the entire life of the game.

That's just dumb.

http://youtu.be/W3MpW7N_PQ8

Torfi and Craig,
realize that ppl don't want your god damn space barbie?
realize that incarna is utterly worthless and has no potential?
realize that 99% of people will turn your incarna OFF?
can we get a proper "mistakes were made" devblog
or a "mission accomplished" devblog because some work and testing of the WOD engine were completed

look at you now Torfi and Craig immerse in this http://youtu.be/gvehBd6B1bE

As it turns out, it didn‘t allow you to look at the ship from all angles, it requires far more GPU and CPU power than simply rendering a ship and a hangar and, importantly, we didn‘t retain UI functionality such as drag-dropping a ship onto your hangar to activate it or double-clicking on the ship to open its cargo. We know that it‘s annoying as hell logging into a station on a craptop trying to sort out some market orders and feel it slowly roasting your lap while it renders your pencil skirt-wearing Caldari commander lady. We are addressing this now.

I lol'd a little, I think you're finally starting to get it.

Truer words haven't oft been spoken lately by CCP...and to hear it from t0rfifrans? Priceless. Every one of you bloody whiners should be praising this paragraph to the heavens.

OMFG! seriously it took you this long to give us ship spinning back? Especially after all the drama that expac caused you'd think you could re-release old content a little faster.

And what about ship turret sizes I think the current turret size is very very small I can barely see them... wouldnt be a good idea to increase their size? I wannna feel carriying a big gun on a battleship not feeling like I am wielding a water gun

I would say good job CCP, but these fixes are long past overdue.

I honestly have no idea why all these posters are cheering for the fact that CCP has demonstrated that they have the ability to basically 'CTRL + Z' undo a whole pile of giant f'ups.

I'm waiting to see any actual new features besides a new in game font. People have only been complaining about its legibility since I started playing EVE 6 or so years ago.

Stop releasing 1/2 baked crap and actually sit down and improve the game.

In the past few months I've come across broken mission chains where the next agent I am supposed to speak with doesn't exist. Had to deal with borked COSMOS rewards & Standings boosts. And the fun process of fixing my sec status by killing NPC pirates. Should only take me a few more weeks and about 60 more battleship kills once every 15 minutes/system jump before I can maybe enter highsec again.

I'm still waiting on promised features like treaties, a serious look at moon goo, and maybe the thought of a captains quarters that does something besides fry my video board.

Announcing new features that are just returning old features means you messed up and should say sorry, not expect lauds and praise. Get Hilmar or whomever is currently running CCP to actually put up a fight for EVE and I might actually try to convince corp mates to come back log back into this game.

Thanks, now if we can only get the people in charge to do something about them Soon*

* (note lack of the TM attached to this 'soon.' CCP's trademark Soon is really like a corporate glorification of the fact that they take years to actually fix stuff they know is broken. I'm getting rather perturbed with the lack of anyone actually doing stuff about it, and letting it be a hallmark of CCP's corporate culture.)

semi-whiney stuffs

I think the reason we're all so thrilled is that it finally shows (from the very TOP) that CCP is finally hearing their players loud and clear and getting things back on track. Yes, we know, they're giving us back old functionality, but many of us thought their hubris would never allow them to backtrack on such simple mistakes. This blog shows they're willing to eat crow from time to time.

but people were just starting to adapt! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fyPWWCArKuQ&feature=channel_video_title

But in all honesty about the adapting, you should not have changed the turret icons back imo, the new turret icons were fine, people just wanted things to complain about
