EVE Ship timeline

I want to make a graphic of when ship classes came out (post beta) in a timeline fashion. I've found some newer players don't quite realize how new many of the classes are and I've like to help visualize how much the selection has expanded.

Since my memory is awful and I missed some of the deployments entirely, I'll have to call onto the crowd to help me out. I would appreciate it if everyone could give me the approximate month/year classes came out.

Here's the list for those who don't want to have to look it up. I ungrouped the ones I think didn't come out together. Help me if I put some together that don't belong together.

Assault Ships (I think they came out together)
Battlecruisers M1
Battlecruisers M2
Battlecruisers M3
Battleships M1
Battleships M2
Battleships M3
Black Ops
Orca
Rorqual
Noctis
Carriers
Supercarriers
Command Ships
Fleet Command Ship
Field Command Ship
Covert Ops
Stealth Bombers
Cruisers
Destroyers
Dreadnoughts
Electronic Attack Ships
Exhumers
Mining Barges
Freighters
Frigates
Heavy Assault Ships (I think these came out together)
Heavy Interdictors
Industrials (Don't know if they came together)
Interceptors
Interdictors
Logistics
Marauders
Force Recon Ships
Combat Recon Ships
Rookie Ships
Strategic Cruisers
Titans (Post beta)
Blockade Runners
Transport Ships
Navy Frigates
Navy Cruisers M1
Navy Cruisers M2
Navy Battleships M1
Navy Battleships M2
Pirate Frigates
Pirate Cruisers
Pirate Battleships

And anything notable I missed

I think it was like this:

Second Genesis: T1 Frigs, T1 Cruisers, T1 tier1/tier2 battleships, T1 industrials.

Castor: Some T2 variants of existing ships.

Exodus: Destroyers, BC's, faction ships, mining barges.

Cold War: Dreadnaughts, freighters, logi cruisers

Red Moon Rising: Carriers, motherships (now supercarriers), titans, interdictors, Command Ships, exhumers.

Revelations: Tier 3 battleships, Tier 2 Battlecruisers.

Revelations II: Unsure

Trinity: Unsure

Empyrean Age: Unsure

Quantum Rise: Orca
Apocrypha: Strategic Cruisers

Dominion: Faction versions of tier 1 battleships (navy phoon, navy domi etc), also motherships changed into supercarriers

Tyrannis: Primae

Incursion: Noctis, also that sansha hacking ship which nobody uses

Incarna: None?

Crucible: Tier 3 Battlecruisers

It all started when someone tossed a log into the river and held on for dear life. It worked great up to the waterfall. After that, well... Then, someone had the bright idea to carve the log out, sit in the depression and paddle away with their hands. That worked just great till he hit that school of pirhana.... Not long after an inspired lad stuck a large POLE in the bottom of the carved out log and hung a bedsheet on it! The wind picked up, caught in the bedsheet which swelled like a nifty cloud putting pressure on the pole which then tore the bottom out of the carved out log. This wasn't all bad, as the lad's frantic physical gesticulations managed to propel him to shore before the crocodiles caught up, and he's said to have invented swimming. (There is some dispute about the accuracy of this legend due to a timeline discrepancy between when the bed was actually invented, and when the bedsheet came into being. Some have the bedsheet before the bed. Others do not.)

For further information see pole, paddle, oar, rudder, sailor, drunk, and drunk as a sailor.

We must accommodate the idiocracy.

Revelations II is said to have added area of effect bombs--this may include Stealth Bomber ships, I am unsure.

Trinity added: Electronic Attack Ships, Heavy Interdictors, Black Ops, Marauders, and Jump Freighters.

This info is from the wikipedia article Expansions of Eve Online

FT Diomedes: "Reaver, sometimes I wonder what you are thinking when you sit down to post."

Frostys Virpio: "We have to give it to him that he does put more effort than the vast majority in his idea but damn does it sometime come out of nowhere."

Thank you very much, I almost have a "good enough" idea of when everything came out.

Now, I think Assault Ships and Interceptors came out with Castor, am I right? I didn't even start playing until after Exodus was released.

To my memory of those days.. It was something closer to

T1 Frigs / Industrials -> Shuttles (We did not have these when I first started, so we had to use a bug which allowed us to eject on docking) -> T1 Cruisers -> T1 BSs.. and so on.

I remember the Sigil amarrian industrial was added much later than the rest, for a long time the Bestower was the only industrial.

This link indicates the black ops was around for at least a few months prior to June 2008.

http://eve-search.com/thread/68270

This one indicates Stilettos (assault ships )were around in March of 2004

http://eve-search.com/thread/172270-0/page/1

and stealth bombers as early as April 2005

I distinctly recall that shuttles were not around when eve was first released, and there was some controversy about a better way to move characters around, and that shuttles were released as an answer.

Wish I had a better memory of things, I think a graphical representation of eve ship release dates is a wonderful idea.

Stilettos are inties, although it's likely that inties and AF's came out at the same time.

Tier 2 bc's and tier 3 battleships came out in the same patch.

It was around 2006 or so if I remember correctly... Caldari only had the Ferox until that point. ;)

NM: Saw that you had those right already. Misread it first time.

I believe that Castor saw the release of the Assault frigs, HACs and Inties.

I'm not certain which expansion saw the release of the Covert Ops frigates and Stealth bombers but it had to be Exodus: Cold War or before.

Recons IIRC were later, I'd suggest RMR but I don't recall them being mentioned in the "RMR, Blood and stuff" video.

Should all be inthere. And this way you can actually verify what others have been saying. I don't think for instance bombs where introduced together with stealth bombers they used to launch cruise missiles and I don't remember flinging bombs until later.

I started playing in april 04 during Castor and inties were available already but not AFs. Asault frigs were introduced at the same time cov ops frigs were, during Exodus. Castor introduced alot of t2 items and ceptors. Hacs were released the following expansion after cold war.

Interceptors were released before AFs and HACs did, I remember I wanted to fly an Inty and then with the next expansion even more ships were announced and I got cranky because I "couldn't catch up" and leftt eh game for 3 year...(yeah I know I would have catched up starting that earyly ;))
