Oke, i know some games have a bit of trouble when the server is crowded.
but at the moment there are 22850 people online (which isnt that much) and i try to login.
then the most funny thing happens, i've been put into a queue of 386 people!
so oke, i waited. the number decreased slowly to 0 and when it hitted 0, i got the following message:

"The client is already connecting to the server (whether or not the login progress bar is showing). Please wait."

so i waited a few minutes and still nothing, so i clicked "ok" and quess what, im back in the queue at place 235!
what is this? is this some sort of practical joke ccp is playing?....

Exactly this - or ignore the message and keep trying to connect every few seconds.

Client is NOT trying to connect even if it claims so in my experience, but if you manually try to connect it doesn't take long (i.e. less than minute, sometimes only few seconds.)

Its just applied rascism

All the Brits just sit there waiting for their turn to log in, and the rest of the world just finds a way to skip the queue

It gives us Brits something to moan about

So, its a win-win for everyone involved

CCP heard brits liked queues so they put a queue in your queue.

Tends to indicate a problem with the proxy server that you've been connected to.

A restart tends to connect you to a different proxy server.

This was happening REAL bad about 2 weeks ago.

Still not fixed.

Been playing 2 years, and this is indeed new, despite the babblings of the f***face Trolls' Comments here.

Yes, start-up was a bit wonky this morning - which often means server instability, but I haven't seen other signs in game pointing at trouble. I hit the login queue repeatedly as I swapped between characters on my account.

They need to change that message. Client does not automatically login if presented with a queue. Right now, you have to simply watch the "#999" number next to the login button count down to zero, when it says "OK" then you can login.

It's not new, we just haven't seen it for awhile.

See the funny thing is I still haven't seen this at all since immediately after an emergency reboot of TQ.

If you discount those then I don't think I've seen a mid-day queue for over a year.

Or if I've seen one more recently then i don't remember it and it never happened again :P

Like the guys said above, it's not CCP's fault, you got routed to a bad proxy server so there is some sort of fail between you and CCP, but not directly modifiable by either party. Restarts tend to route you else where to maybe get a better connection.
