Tech 2 Ammo slows down your ship ? WTF!!!!!!!!

Ok so i built my tengu on eft and it said i can get 1221 m/s

i was happy with that so i built it. i noticed right away once i undocked that when i activated the propulsion it was slower than eft predicted i got 1053 m/s. i douible checked my fit and implants and could not find any reason for the ship being slower, the next day the tengu was even slower, i thought WTF ?????? i was getting 907 m\s.

so i sent this petition ....
Is there any issues at the moment about ships not getting full speed in MWD? Im sure you dont deal with 3rd party pgms but... I have always used EFT and and have never found it to be this far off on something. I show i 'should' be getting 1221 ms on my tengu with MWD... yet max is 1053 ms in game. I have triple cheked the fit and subsystems and its all right... are we now haveing some bonuses applied again...or still?

I'm afraid that yes, Tech2 ammo directly affect the ship velocity. You can find the information on the item info panel of them.


so it looks like from what this gm tells me that tech 2 ammo slows down your ship. and apparently, different speeds on different days surely this is bullshit right ? any you guys had the same problem ?

Do what the GM suggested to you. Also, posting GM conversation is against rules, might want to edit away that part. P

thanks, i took out the name.. but I have looked on the info.. Rage Missiles say nothing about affecting the ships speed.. only its signature.. and why would it change from day to day?

Anyway for pvp you better use faction ammo, right now most T2 ammo either only fills a very very niche role or is simply worse than faction ammo. Faction ammo, little less dmg than T2 but for no penalties.

Very strange, i have never heard of tech 2 ammo slowing down a ship, sig radius yes but not velocity. sounds like that gm is a bit stupid.
Tengus are very buggy as it is. sounds like just more bugs.
here is what fulmanation rage info says .....

An unguided warhead designed for use with heavy assault launchers. Heavy assault missiles can be fired at a greater rate than heavy missiles, at the expense of effective range.

This modified version of the Fulmination Assault Missile packs a considerably stronger punch, but as a result is heavier and slower. This makes it very effective against larger targets, but markedly less effective against smaller and more agile targets. The volatile nature of the warhead, and its powerful containment system, increase the ship's electromagnetic footprint when loaded and armed.

like i said, it increases sig radius but not velocity. tech 2 ammo doesnt slow down a ship. that gm has defo got it wrong mate.

Check Show Info on Scourge Precision (as an example).

Maximum Velocity Penalty of -5%

It does not occur on T2 heavies, only T2 precisions.

Carry 'em but don't load them till needed, if it all.

hehe... I know a lot of people slam EFT, but in the years i have used it, i found any major differences was an error on my part of a particular piece and not that of EFT.

"You can find the information on the item info panel of them." The GM gave you the answer. Different t2 ammo have different effects.

As for your speed and why it does different at different occation; that obviously shouldn't happen. I've had issues myself tho (but it's been 1month+ since I undocked so it might be fixed now) where the speedometer get 'stuck' visually at one speed, but it doesn't go at that speed. Like, it might show as going at 90% but it's really at 100 or 70 or something else. Can always click it at max to make sure it's really there. That's a long-shot but always something.

But logic would say that is on the missile.. not the ship. At least to me..
And i used T2 rage which don't say that. i don't use precision

Damn straight. EFT shows velocity drop from 219 to 161 on my Tengu fit with precision. Ya didn't read the numbers man, the numbers!!

he says he uses tech 2 rage heavy assaults, not precisions. sure heavy precisions do affect velocity but none of the tech 2 heavy assaults affect ship speed. only sig radius.

Ya I had a friend raging cause he couldn't get Orca bonuses working cause he thought it HAD to be in the Fleet Booster slot and i had to explain to him that when the description says "Fleet booster" it means "boosting position within a fleet"

Since none of his chars were in the fleet commander slot and even if they were they didn't have Fleet command level 1 he would have never had his bonuses

Logic would have put that attribute together with the missile's description to mean the ship.

Seeing as you still think the GM is wrong, i'll take a stab at one of the following

you had leadership bonuses enabled in eft
you were in a fleet in eve
you had t2 ammo loaded
you had half t2, half some other ammo either for testing purposes or cause you don't know how to fit your ship.
you drank some quafe zero
you were playing with skills in EFT and forgot to change them back
you were in a wormhole with an anomaly

probably plenty more I can't be bothered with right now.
