So i unistalled and deleted old client and installed new one . For some reason My eve client doesnt detect some of my keys .

dude , read my post above... i hard wiped every single eve settings. Not from game. From actually harddrive... i had 1.5gb of files in cashe and settings foler. All deleted.... i reinstalled client... nothing helped... so il petition.. im not smart enough to figure whats wrong .

One thing is certain... its not my keyboard. Drivers for both keyboards are there . Both keyboards check by keyboard test software key by key. All working perfectly. So its not my hardware or software.

Was this pre or post emergency reboot number 3? 'Cause people were having all sorts of issues

Incarna - Newest business example of mismanaged capital. CCP - Continuing to gank independent PI producers every day

PvP's latest  incentive program ** Unified Inventory **  'Cause you gotta kill something after trying to use it

This second time i had this problem, no hotkeys work, only chat works. this is getting rediculous. first time gm had no clue. but by the looks of it this is a growing problem. never had this with any other game. I use a razer naga mouse and razer blackwidow keyboard, both are updated drivers and firmware, iv uninstalled every program i dnt need, iv reset eve settings, cleared cache, updated bios, updated windows, tryed windows keyboard... i dnt have the problem programs installed, so.. what to do.. wait for a gm to ask same questions for few days till it fixes it self? i cnt play game properly without keys, cnt get into esc menu, cnt ctrl target

I have this problem as well. I can type username to log in but tab does not move cursor to password. Escape doesn't work. No hotkeys or F-keys work, pressing "D" with a stargate selected in overview does nothing, I can type in chat.

Here's what I've tried

  • Restart game
  • Clear all settings
  • Clear cache
  • Restart computer

I'm on a Dell laptop, i5, w7 64bit Home Premium.

edit: Is there button in game I can click with my mouse to bring up the ESCAPE menu?
edit2: progress, I unplugged my USB mouse I had connected and restarted my machine and then the game and then everything worked. Now keep in mind this mouse has been trouble ever since it received a large dose of static electricity from my hands when I sat down at my computer on a cold winter day. I plugged it back in and as usual when I plug it in it's not working correctly so long ago I figured out I had to hit ctrl-alt-del and then click the cancel button with the broken mouse... after that it works. But EVE hotkeys stopped working after I plugged it in and got it working.

there is none. Update your bios and if in any chance you have 2x keyboards on same pc unplug one. Should solve your problem. My problem was completly the same.

its something related with keybindings. Reinstalling the game or OS doesnt help at all. I reinstalled win7 and defragmented my hdd, it didnt solve my problem. Once i updated BIOS from 2.1 to 2.9 problem was solved. got no idea how!

Having this exact issue... been through all the same presumed fixes (clear cache, clear settings, restart client, restart computer, fix client, uninstall and reinstall client, etc.) very frustrating - especially during wartime.

what exactly do you mean by 'updating BIOs from 2.1 to 2.9'? I'm not sure what you're talking about or how to update my bios....

link it would appear that this is an issue that pops up from time to time... I currently have a petition active.

CCP cant help you with this one... even they cant explain it. I was told that eve client engine is in basic still garrage one built long time ago. Only couple of guys in CCP can fix it .

I had 2 keyboards on same pc . First thing i did was doo all you did, except i complete defragmented my HDD, installing new partitions and new OS . When that didnt help i turned to the experts. They told me only thing they can think off is BIOS drivers from your motherboard are obsolete and they need to be updated.

You have different types of motherboards and different manufacturers. Check your serial on your motherboard, go to the website of your manufacturer and download latest BIOS drivers. Put only one keyboard in case you had multiple keyboards on same PC. Once you unplug all except one update BIOS , restart PC and your problem should be solved .

Wish i get some medal from CCP for fixing something they could not ^.^

This may or may not be related, but while salvaging I have had a couple instances where, for whatever reason, my client seems to get stuck in the local chat box. The symptoms are that I lose F1-F8 functionality and the CTRL key seems to misbehave. If I look down at the cursor in the chat window it seems to have moved some.

To address it I click in the chat window and hit enter. That seems to break the focus and give me back my controls. I do not know for sure if this is related or if my 'solution' is really one (only used the 'solution' twice) but it might be something to look at.
