Hyacinthous's post on p2 is exactly how to best approach Bethesda games, and sums up the point of Skyrim et al.

Even on Master, if you fast travel from quest to quest power levelling into a superhero using youtube guides then you will get bored very quickly.

And how anyone can not enjoy the game because of bad coding or imperfect animations is beyond me. I loved Morrowind and Baldur's Gate 1 and it was nothing to do with the lushness of the graphics! Yes the UI for PC is sh1te.

Personally, I think the best way to approach Skyrim is to be on Master difficulty level, playing through to level 40-50ish with different character builds, perhaps basing yourself out of different cities for each character. If you try doing everything with one character you'll just get bored as it will all become too easy. As a rule of thumb, it's the journey in these games that supplies the fun and interest, not the super-equipment-ultra-killing-machine destination. And then when you're done with that go to skyrimnexus and remove Mjol's clothes.

rage quit Skyrim? it is a singleplayer game lol finish it and stuff it away or keepplaying or whatever you got your moneys worth. Great game and kept me entertained for 150+hours. I then quit, but rage quit is a concept more akin to things you still pay for or have to do or whatever.

I loved skyrim and I give it a 9.5/10!! The extra 0.5 after playing for 60hours. at 60hours a 9.

Skyrim was overwhelming the first few days. That quickly faded, though. Questing took so little intuition and problem solving skills that I just couldn't find the motivation to push through. Just turn until the quest marker is in front of you and hold W, swing your sword a few times, whatever. You can play without the marker, but they don't give you any sort of information and there isn't a journal, so you have absolutely no idea where you're supposed to be going.

idk, the series is losing it.

OP, still play Skyrim and I have a question for you; would you prefer to have a massive sandbox world that is Skyrim where you can anything you want, even if your character looks a little off in third person? Or would you prefer to have one where it is completely realistic movement, linear path that is five hours long, and then you get a small pat on the back and no new game plus or playing beyond the credits?

Man, try read my thread, try read the review i posted. Of course id like the sandbox world, but the whole discussion isnt about choosing between a sandbox game and the realistic game. The discussion is about whether or not it is possible to have both, and of course i was overruled by fanatic fanboys. This review proofs that it is possible:D

Stupid stupid man! Read the discussions before making such stupid comments.

Its very smallish, but Skyrim lacks killing animations, and ad the dragon itself needs an animation overhaul.

Notice the dragons legs when meelee attacking, when gaming (this will ruin your excitement when fighting a dragon), or this vid

It looks like one of thoose plastic animal toys with legs only bendable at the hips-.-

And the killing animations, well to start with, they dont ever hit the target, when slitting a throat, u slit the air, when killing a dragon you sit on the air next to the dragon. And then the lacking of animations, its always the same, and it gets boring. And dont get me started at the flying animation of the dragon...

And the characters 3rd-person-looking-straight-forward-like-it-got-a-neck-strap-on, thing. It is hard to have an conversation in 3rd person without making it look silly.

Bethesda didnt spend enough time fixing the small things.

You should never compare a game with their predecessors, at least not 3d and modelling wise. I mean, they should be looking at other games, study their animations, go to the gym study real life animations, for god sake! Looky here:

Their opinion of real life walking in first person. Well i must say, i did mention "look at the other games", but come on! This? Really? Your character is running around like a zombie, because they looked at MW3 and CS and al the other GUN-based FPS. I really dont believe a man with shield and sword runs like that.

Many resources in the game have been diverted to the sandbox, and when you have so many concurrent things working at the same time in a sandbox world, and the Radiant AI that Bethesda has installed into the game to make npcs do whatever they choose to do when you aren't around, animations rather get second priority. I have read your discussion, and was wondering if you would have preferred hyper realistic and short, or a sandbox world that is not quite perfect and realistic.

If you want both, wait two decades. I'm pretty sure the computers we use by then will be able to do both of those things.

I thought the guild quests were badass, same for the dark brotherhood, but the game is just too buggy to play through the main sections, you can get through the war between the stormcloaks and imperials but when I tried going through the dragonborn storyline it was just ugh.

I give credit to EVE at least they make sure their games all work properly before shipping them, some of the problems with this game are just from the sheer scale of it that much is true, but others are just ridiculous bouts of laziness, it really is like the devs went towards the end of the dragonborn bits "Aw **** it no one will care about this bit anyway they'll just want to explore".

"don't get us wrong, we don't want to screw new players, on the contrary. The core problem here is that tech 1 frigates and cruisers should be appealing enough to be viable platforms in both PvE and PvP."   - CCP Ytterbium
