Most likely the email has a link to account management that actually goes to a fake site - if you try to log in there with your real credentials, you just gave them away to a third party and unsurprisingly your account will be "hacked" very soon after and stripped of anything valuable.

Since someone is still spamming such emails around, some people must be falling for them. Naturally this is due to the fact that "there are two things in the universe that have infinite supply - Hydrogen and Stupidity - and I'm not entirely sure about the former."

There needs to be a website addy listed for it to be even possible for him to go to a shady site. I'm guessing email bug.

It's phishing, I get them all the time on the gmail address I set up for this character which isn't the one I use for my EVE accounts so I know for certain which are fake.

I just forward them to support@eveonline.com so that they can deal with them

WoW holds your hand until end game, and gives you a cookie whether you win or lose. EVE not only takes your cookie, but laughs at you for bringing one in the first place...

This.

Destination SkillQueue:- It's like assuming the Lions will ignore you in the Savannah, if you're small, fat and look helpless.

Also, if you are using an email provider like GMail, report the phishing there too, as various email providers try to run phishing filters and something like this would help them do so.
