Probing - System scanner improvement

Well I'm a budding explorer, and I took to the practice of writing down the IDs of the Cosmic Signatures and Anomalies that I had no interest in. It seems an epic waste of time to scan down the same wormhole multiple times over when you don't want to find wormholes. Same goes for warping to an anomaly you've already cleared, that hasn't despawned yet. This can happen a fair bit when you are warping around multiple systems scanning, and I like to rescan systems a lot in case something spawns while I am passing through again, which has happened before.

Well a corpmate suggested to me that I use the "ignore result" feature, which I tried. So I just did that, and stopped using my notepad for the IDs. All seemed well, until I realised that once you leave a system, the ignore results list is cleared!

I also tried using the "clear result" feature, and you get the same thing if you leave the system, return and re-scan. So I conclude that there is no means of permanently blocking signatures you don't want, or anomalies you've cleared from showing up on your scanner. Either that, or I'm just a newb. So it's back to the notepad for me.

My suggestion is that CCP implement a feature whereby you can permanently block signatures and anomalies based on the ID, so that when you come back to a system later the ignore results list is still effective. I can't see why a spaceship with advanced computing power would struggle with this, so it seems realistic enough.

A means to save me writing down IDs on my notepad and checking them everytime I return to a system to re-scan it would make it easier. Else I guess I will just stick with the notepad Smile

I like the idea. I'm a wormhole occupant and I it annoys me when I have to re-scan everything because my ignore list got cleared.

By the way, signature names change after every reset, so even if you write them down, they'll be different.

Yeah I thought I read something about that, in a wormhole guide too, but wasn't completely sure. But scanning something down 2 or 3 times (eg, over 3 days) has to be better than 10 times a day Smile
