Most of the day was spent tending to planetary duties. I was able to fly some rescue patrol duty, but no rescues were made as of this report. I was also able to catch up on some Corp administrative duties.

Meanwhile, the young slave girl, Amy was busy with Elder Verin visiting other young Matari who had either recently gone through the voluval of will be soon. I am concerned , because Amy is a very personable young woman and she will make friends here quickly. How will she feel about going back to her master after meeting fellow youth from her tribe?

In the next few days, Amy will learn more about her heritage through the experiences with her peer than she has her entire life. These issue were discussed with Ms Adrelana, but the reality will be felt strongly. Then there is the voluval. When that happens, Amy will be deeply impacted. Will she wish to return to her master then? Will she feel resentment for her childhood spent in slavery?

I need to sit down and compose a note to Ms. Adrelana to keep her updated on how Amy is doing. Verin has told me that Amy's life before Ms Adrelana purchased her, was a horror. Verin is good at getting to the core of people's inner lives. Verin also told me that Amy misses "master Adrelana" and wishes she could be here.

The Elders in Eldulf said that they need to consult a few days before agreeing to the voluval. The Elders usually see visions pertaining to the candidates. Having never met Amy, they will need time to consult the spirits before even deciding to do the ceremony. I expect to hear from them in a few days.

A different sort of rescue happened this morning. 2 slave traders were dumped but no slaves were present. Hmm, I wonder what that is about. Maybe we will get some information in the next day or two.

Amy is busy in times of meditation and preparation with Elder Verin. We as of yet have not received word from Eldulf.

An Early evening patrol resulted in the rescue of ten former slaves. We were back at the Matriculation Center in time for the evening meal in the commons. Eating in one of the commons is always an option, particularly for those who do not cook or for families wishing some social time around a meal. New arrivals who come at meal time are always treated with special honor and pomp. These ten found the experience quite beyond comprehension, but when they saw hundreds of their own race sitting at meat, the look of delight was beyond words.

May God and all the Host of Spiritual Beings bless Tovil Hadras for liberating 10348 slaves. The Disciples of Ston salute you as a hero of liberty. You are a true example of what a capsuleer is meant to be and do.

A short time a go, the Disciples of Ston took in to our care 10348 former slaves once held captive but no no longer. Thanks to the personal sacrifice of Tovil Hadras, these men, women, boys and girls can now taste freedom.

I am on my way to pick up the Freedom Liner from Ealur to begin the transport. I never would have guessed that we would need the Freedom Liner again so soon. I have sent ahead to the Cottons and Greenhands to prepare the vessel with provisions and crew. Mr. Hadras has also helped provide additional provisions to be brought aboard with the first passengers of two trips.

I am going to ask Halfred and Bell Greenhand to accompany me on the Freedom Liner and be present to welcome this group of 10K+. There will much adjustment for these individuals. The Greenhands are amazing people. They know how to make people at ease. They once were slaves, too. They understand.

What a great day this is. SANKOFA, SANKOFA, SANKOFA!

The Elders in Eldulf have requested the presence of the young woman Amy for a period of co-meditation. They feel that in this set of circumstances it is important for them to spend direct time in spiritual commune with her before even consenting to the voluval. I feel hopeful. The Elders are very intrigued by the whole situation, both by the gorl and by the master who would be willing to relinquish her to DSTON with no guarantees. But, let us not presume.

Verin said that the day was spent mostly in quietness. Amy is tired. The last two days have been overwhelming.

I wanted to give an update on Amy and where we are with her potential Voluval

The usual preparation for the voluval involves weeks of concentrated time with a vherokior mystic. This Essence Instructor mentors the candidate in the tribal legends, meditation, clearing of the mind and focusing on individual destiny. The Voluval is shaped by the union of personal and divine influence. Preparation cannot be overstated. That brings me to a great concern for Amy. She has not had the weeks of time to prepare nor the life time within the tribal environment to anticipate accurately what the voluval is about.

Amy’s process will be accelerated and artificially short compared to others. I do have confidence in the Essence instructors in Eldulf. Amy will spend concentrated time with a group of them as they begin focused co-meditation. How well she carries on this discipline will have great impact on the recommendation of the Elders either for or against her Voluval rite. They have asked for a full week of focused time in meditation and to seek destiny visions for the girl.

Amy, Verin and myself begin our journey to Eldulf today. There are the standard safety concerns regarding detection along the way. Let me take this time to beat the old drum of our governments and Concord getting off their collective butts and allowing for a legal mechanism to change the status of rescued slaves to “free person.” As long as they are still treated as contraband, our work is seriously limited.

A short while ago, I was patrolling a border crossing and came upon a death can. Inside were 20 men that are referred to in slavery parlance as Elite Slaves. This is a euphemism to worked near to death. Now they are free and back at Center #1 sititng at a hardy meal and talking tot he Elders. What kind of inhumanity would treat people like these men had been treated?

It has been a busier than normal day on rescue patrol. A short time ago a pilot jettisoned a deth can with 141 on board. I was there almost immediately, so the those jettisoned were still in a state of chaos and confusion when my crew rescued them. They had just been jettisoned into space and then transported aboard my rescue ship. There was confusion. My crew was able to help them settle down and understand what had happened. The Medical staff back at Center #1 was prepared for their arrival.

One of our Matriculants, a young intellectual and science student named Jahcron, has requested to study with the people of the Nation of Sansha through the Corporation that Mr. Thessalonia is involved with. (That sentence has terrible structure. I'm always splitting my infinitives.) Jahcron is at our academic center in Korama right now, so it may be a few days before Manwe can take covert transport over to bring him into Amarr space where Mr. Thessalonia wants to do the transfer. Mr. Thessalonia has promised that Jahcron will maintain autonomy until and if such a time he chooses to join Nation. At that time, he would have to submit to an implant of course. If he chooses not to join, TSF will then have to provide transportation to wherever he would want to go.

The last number of slaves freed is truely remarkable. As more people see the evils of slavery, more will be freed.

I have been in unknown places for some time on a mission of exploration for new mining sites. I am now back in Empire and can report on the sad, yet ever so true fact that some of our number are truely heartless. No job is so important or time sensitive that people should be abandoned to die in space.

More for the Wall of Shame

Agile Caizhu
162 slaves

Xenomorphus
41 slaves

Ipitus
35 slaves

Jake Tiger
35 slaves
7 slaver hounds
5 slavers

This was a most unusual rescue. All persons rescued stated that they had plotted to escape at the earliest change they got. At the Amarr/Caldari border, they saw their chance and were able to take their chances of being rescued rather than continue to exist in slavery. The 5 slavers rescued backed up this account, gave details on how they assisted and wanted to be granted protection as they wished to get out of the slave trade. It seems that the people who employ them do not look kindly on those who wish to quit.

More Wall of Shame

Bloodz
26 slaves

Shoran Hyperjump
41 slaves

Vel Jong
80 slaves

As soon as I can get some equipment delivered, they will be well enough to travel and they will be ready for resettlement.

While I would have no issues with doing that, the last part of this was not something we discussed, Ston.

Frankly, as of late, I am reconsidering working with you guys at all, for any purpose.

If you do not wish to provide transportation at the end of the experience, then we would be happy to do so. Ston did not wish to intrude or make you feel as though I were checking up on you. Ston was trying to be polite and not make it seem that we needed control of the whole process from start to finish. I think you have misjudged Ston. If you want to be critical, be critical of me. Let me know if you are withdrawing the offer, so that Jahcron does not get his hopes up.

Sincerely,
Manwe on behalf of the Disciples of Ston.

Things have been extremely busy. I just had a visit from Edaine Numenor. He showed up at Ealur with a group of 60 former slaves that he had just rescued and a group of 153 former slaves that he said were liberated through the generosity of an anonymous donor to NUVOS. Then he added, "This is a drop in the bucket. NUVOS is dedicated to sustained effort until DSTON is Matriculating at least one million former slaves. Keep the Freedom Liner warmed up, because you are gonna need it."

I hope Bowman and May Cotton can swing a deal with the SIsters soon. If Edaine says he NUVOS is going to work towards another 500,000 Matriculants, he means it. I hope to hear from the Cottons sometime tonight or tomorrow.

I am critical of everyone.

I'll take him, I suppose, but as I am rapidly losing trust in you lot, please make sure that Jahcron is aware that he will be under a light security detail at all times. I will do my best to show him what life in TS-F is like, though also make him aware that he is missing a fairly fundamental part of the experience since he wont have access to our inner world.

Jahcron knows our point of view on the matter, but it is his decision, not mine. He has complete, unfettered access to these forums. His choice is his to make, we will serve his self-determination in this matter. Your trust or lack thereof in DSTON is irrelevant to Jahcron's choice to explore TSF. I will personally contact you regarding transfer details.

48, then 10, then 1. That was the order of three rescues conducted when I reached the patrol zone this morning. Whenever I make a rescue of just one person, there is a palpable sense of loneliness. Abandoned to die alone... then rescued and brought to be with others. This is an emotional contrast. The sole abandoned former slave is fine now. As for the one cruel enough to do such a thing to another human being? That person is still in bondage.

Mid day patrol resulted in the rescue of 37 people. It never ceases to disgust me how slave holders use the word "elite" to describe those slaves they mercilessly work, sometime to death. 10 such abused souls were rescued on this patrol. It is also the most difficult fr these to adjust to life as free, peaceful citizens. There is a place for you, my friends. Don't let go of hope. You are free now.

Rescued 7 from death can early this afternoon. While we only report the pilot link and not the details as we once did, I will mention that the pilot on the Wall of Shame is from the Brutor tribe. It always grieves me to see Matari doing this. Capsuleer arrogance at its worst.
