In any case, its got to be useful to those of us with just one screen. If I had a full screen window and no access to the dock, I still need a way to go to another application without having to toggle back and forth to a standard window.

Lion has a full-screen mode, or rather full-virtual-screen mode.

This would be really nice if supported, as it is really nice for multi-tasking with full-screen programs.

They already have said that the lion full screen feature is a technical impossibility

Just can't get there from here with the equipment we have....

Please work hard on bringing more accurate resolutions to Macs. I logged into Sisi today an found out that the new Neocom layout makes the Undock-button only half visible when in windowed mode. I could live without the clock/calendar -button but having to look for the undock button is too much :)

So please readjust the screen sizes for Mac quickly!

As someone with a second monitor who runs in windowed mode very often, I love you.

I know, snarky answer, but I can't live without having a hotkey assigned to undock.

I personally use ctrl-l (for Leave station).

Any updates on when we might see these resolutions in the client? My only options right now are 1024x768 and 1280x800, I can't wait for this to hit...

Is this something you can push out in one of the semi-daily client updates? It seems like it would be pretty straight-forward....

I am looking forward to the new resolution options too.

These changes are already in an internal code branch, unfortunately that branch is also quite unstable at the moment so I haven't been able to play with it much. Should be able to get this out within a couple of months.

Thanks a lot for all the feedback on this.

I'd like slightly more than 44 pixels. If it fits flush with the bottom of the window, then any time I go for something at the bottom my dock is likely to pop up. As such, you probably want 3 "fake" resolutions for each size in window mode:
- menu & title plus 2 pixel gutter on each side and 4 pixel gutter bottom (for those with hiding docks)
- menu & title plus space for dock on bottom
- menu & title plus space for dock on side

Aren't Caldari supposed to have a large signature?

It has been a long running pet project of mine to apply some love to Mac clients running in windowed mode or with an additional monitor available on their system, unfortunately this project has now hit an insurmountable technical hurdle that seriously limits our options. As it turns out the engineering required to allow EVE to run in full screen on a second monitor is pretty crazy, so we can't do that. We also can't really query the OS for the actual resolution of the system, we always just get the main monitor.

What we can do however is query for the max resolution of the systems main monitor and then offer various windowed mode resolution options based on that.

Uhh, so this little snippit doesn't get you what you need:

Quote:
#include IOKit/IOKitLib.h
#include IOKit/IOTypes.h
#include ApplicationServices/ApplicationServices.h

CGDisplayErr CGGetOnlineDisplayList(CGDisplayCount maxDisplays,
CGDirectDisplayID * onlineDspys,
CGDisplayCount * dspyCnt);
static void DetectDisplays()
{
CGDirectDisplayID displays[8];
CGDisplayCount dspCount = 0;

if (CGGetOnlineDisplayList(8, displays, &dspCount) == noErr)
{
for(int i = 0; i < dspCount; i++)
{
io_service_t service = CGDisplayIOServicePort(displays[i]);
if (service)
IOServiceRequestProbe(service, kIOFBUserRequestProbe);
}
}
}

Shocked

I moved the dock to the left side of the screen long, long ago, for this very reason!

/me goes poking around in the ESCAPE menu under the "Display & Graphics" tab looking for something unrelated, and notices the new resolutions.

Wait... 1920x1156?

Now we just need to fix the framerate issue.P

1366 x 724 didn't make it in though :P

MacBook Air 11" is 1366 x 768 resolution.

Though I do have an odd resolution of 1024 x 856. Perhaps that's one of the "portrait" modes for larger screens?

One more thing™

Can you add a second "tweaked" resolution?

example : 1920x1200 dual screens, Dualboxing means

1st screen with Osx menu bar + Eve's bar = 44px
2nd scren without OsX bar but only Eve's bar = 22px only.

thanks anyway for the job :)

Well, its sort of in there. If I set to 1920 x 1156 something odd happens: command-return stops working. If I want to go to full screen, I got to use the esc menu. Then it automagically changes to 1920 x 1200 and goes to full screen. Yay! Hitting command-return then puts it back to 1920 x 1156 and in a window. Again Yay! But then another command-return does nothing. The expected behavior is a return to full screen at 1920 x 1200.

Yeah, when you enter the new resolution windowed modes, you lose your menus. Not JUST command-return, but also command-c, command-v, command-a, etc. Only things you can still do are command-q and command-m (but minimizing means you'll have to reboot the game because you'll never get your window back).
