Is there a specific reason as to why platinum insurance for a 145m isk T2 ship is only 27 million?Ugh

Technically is that even an Isurance number payout, seeing as you cant dock a Titan or Super to even try insure it?

I don't bother on anything larger than a hurricane (you get pretty near full price for the hull)

the rest just seems to be an isk sink with no appreciable worth to the player

LOL How the hell are you going to insure a titan?

If a dev happens to click this:

Are there any plans to add a dynamic api system to insurance that fluctuates with the average ship market prices in Jita?

Well, I would say yes, technically, since when it pops - you do get an insurance mail - so that would qualify it to be insured, I think?

You always get a small 'base' insurance payout without actually insuring the ship.

but why? It hurts with or without insurance.

The killboard stats, having to re-buy/ re-fit/ re-ship. That **** is painful.

Insurance payouts are based on the mineral costs of the hull, not the purchase price. Therefore, all is working as intended.

Insurance would work better in this game if you could - for example - buy platinum industrial insurance to your hulk from Chribba. This special insurance would be active only in certain constellation. Chribba could perhaps shrink your monthly fees when time and months passes by... If you were really good customer and managed to keep your hulk alive more than 12 months, next insurance deal could be cheaper to you (if Chribba keeps good track of his customers and wants them to be happy).

However this time you went and aggroed some pirate can flipper who popped your hulk. Chribba didn't pay you anything because industrial insurance contracts do not cover agressors material losses. This may feel unfair now, but Chribba is smiling and counting his profits.

Anyways... this is not how it works in eve.

Titans get a base amount back, because all ships get that basic amount.

As for other ships it's working as intended Smile. The coverage formula works as (value of the ship according to the index) * (percentage of insurance coverage) * (ship type multiplyer). Sorry I don't fully understand it enough to explain it well but you can read about it on the EVElopedia here.
