Well done to all the killboards for being ready for the new patch - as always - NOT...
Why does this always happen, you know the patch is coming weeks before it does...

Malformed Killmail = Awesome..

Um... Are the resources need to update the killboards and such available weeks ahead of time? Most likely not, so you need to be patient and wait. And if you lack patience, eve is not the game for you.

I find it to be a blessing, the whole killboard thing is worthless and means nothing, I have had numerous kills and my Kill/Death ratio is awesome and I have never killed anyone, just by being in a fleet that did all the work.Twisted

Get that stat log out of the game I say, less crap on server side, yeah sure, there will be so so many tears from killboard whores but they will get over it. Bear

Please show me a CCP sponsored Kill Board, and I will make Killmails go away.

Its just bragging rights, free intel, and a way to make people mad enough to make more killmails...

Working as intended I assure you.

Statistic's like that are part of most games. In fact, many people play purely to pour over those types of statistics.

To them it is one of the main draws of this game, or any other, and is a perfectly valid stance to take.

That's the thing about statistics, for them to have any worth to anyone (including the developers) those statistics have to be accurate and all inclusive... whether you personally enjoy that aspect of the game or not.

If you don't like them, don't look at them.

That is fine by me mate...

I just mentioned that this statistic is full of fail, fine its in the game, however serves no purpose as is not by any means accurate, as previously mentioned I have like 300ish kills and “2” that’s two deaths, I am a tremendous PvP'er by looking at that and I can't remember doing more than like 0.something damage.

That is my humble opinion obviously and as I always say “Opinions are like Assh*les, everyone's got one and does whit it as he/she sees fit” Blink

All the best.

So what you are all saying is we should remove killmails from the game.

I approve of this product and/or service.

Battle reports are awesome. On one of the my old games I use to play, we would take screenshots of the very good/big ones and post it on forums to rub it in. Often times, the loser would come in and rage so hard that they would actually quit the game as they just lost 2 years worth of building space ships. Those tears were epic

"All the killboards" are usually running the same code: EDK. The data dumps were available beforehand, as evidenced by working Pyfa versions that existed way before today.

Either EDK or your local friendly corp/alliance sysadmin just dropped the ball.

As do I. KMs are a nice badge of honor sometimes, but given that any warm meatbag can get on one with minimal effort means that they are pretty much worthless for any real idea of how good or bad a player is.

No worries.

You might consider though that few people look at kill mail stats to get an accurate picture of an individual pilots abilities. Everybody knows that one module activation is all it takes to get on a kill mail.

No, the statistics that people are interested in are the corp and alliance statistics, as well as the battle reports. They (while obviously not completely infallible) provide a fairly clear picture of the battle history of these organizations, and how particular encounters/battles/wars ended up.

Alliances are made, war/invasion targets chosen, and ISK changes hands based in part on these statistics... not to mention more than a few people simply enjoy keeping score for their "team" in some fashion when gaming.
