Yeah, it's definitely sad to see that happening to the game and they are indeed trimming all kinds of things down. Reducing operating costs actually makes their profit margin larger thus making the company more attractive for selling.

As for stopping the downward trend, that isn't going to happen as long as they continue following their current game changing decisions.
