No. CCP's EULA and TOS need to be followed and they clearly state harassment is not ok. Player made Codes of Conduct (such as the 3 Laws of CnP) don't 'NEED' to be followed but expect player enforced consequences for not following player made 'rules'

This is very open to perception as long as sandbox mentality is pushed, which in eve it is. I can follow you around eve, gank you when I feel like it, war dec every corp you go to which to some is seen as harassment, but in eve its "the Sandbox".

As long as you have a valid in-game reason for it.

"He owes me money" is a valid in-game reason...:)

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

Can't see any salt here, just a calm reasoned explanation why it sucks including an acknowledgement that were it to be removed hisec freighter ganking would collapse as it would be too hard.

You assume I care at a personal level, well I sold my freighter because it was too risky (the suicide point was the killer for negating webbing) and use DST's which are fine for me. Also I use freighter services with a mark up on the collateral, so at a personal level I seriously do not care.

At a game balance level for hisec as it is I think it is totally unbalanced.

So seriously where is the salt, it is totally in your delusional mind. RollShocked

EDIT: I am utterly unimportant, which is why I laugh when you CODE guys start getting salty every time I post anything.

When the going gets tough the Gankers get their CSM rep to change mechanics in their favour.

So imbalanced that for every freighter that dies, hundreds make it to their destination safely Roll

Oh well at least you're consistent, consistently wrong.

I have the female exotic dancers ready to escort me, also having a few firework launchers at hand really helps.

But if I could get Jennifer en Marland, Alexander Kaan and a few others to jump with me that would be fine and dandy...

A freighter with a billion or so in cargo in it doesn't merit an escort because the chances of you losing it are so vanishingly small, they are nearly indistinguishable from zero. Freighters have been buffed so many times, and ganking mechanics nerfed so repeatedly that the chances of you losing a modestly filled tanked freighter are not worth considering, unless you are poor and have broken a golden rule by placing a significant fraction of your net worth in it.

If you play the odds (99.8%+ chance of success), game theory says you should AFK your sanely-filled, tanked freighter all the time while you watch a movie or engage in non-Eve social interaction. Or if you want to productively use your time in Eve, go run missions while the freighter flies itself and you will have enough ISK to easily replace it several times over given the 1-out-of-500 or less times you lose it while it is unattended.

Freighters work fine. They are probably among the statistically safest ships in the game given their typical use in highsec. If anything, they are far too immune to player interaction leading to them being abused as AFK haulers, basically CCP-approved bots that play the game for you. Still though, they generate content when players get greedy and complacent and cross that threshold where it is profitable for the other players to call you on your risk taking and organize to explode you. I know they could be improved on to generate more content, but as they are they still drive criminal game play which still drives vigilante game play and thus they are not totally broken or unbalanced like people like to complain. When the professional haulers like Red Frog can fly them with a near perfect safety record, and there are alternatives like DSTs, BRs and T3Cs that are essentially immune to ganking in highsec when fit/flown correctly, it is hard to say there is a fundamental problem with hauling choices in highsec. While using them for their intended purpose to move bulky, but low-value cargo you are perfectly safe.

Dracvlad's atypical view of game balance aside, the OP seems to be whining about another issue. He somehow thinks: a) ganking is immoral or not intended game play and he should be able to opt-out (or this "harassment" as he calls it) if he self-defines as a PvE player, and b) the game should somehow give him vengeance, either through automatic game mechanics or some other way. Well he is completely wrong on the first point, probably so much so he is playing the wrong game completely, but with b) he touches on the idea that criminals could be more vulnerable albeit in a whining and self-defeatist sort of way.

I think though if CCP ever got around to spending some effort improving general criminal game play, and freighter interdiction mechanics the OP would not like results. Any new system that made criminals more vulnerable to punishment, would also make their targets more vulnerable in order to develop the intended game play between human players. He seems to want to play a game where he is free of "harassment" AKA playing the game with the other players, while CCP's general goal with changes is to promote player interaction. The sad thing is though, I have all but given up on CCP ever spending effort again on the criminal niche of gameplay. The last 18 months of development has led me to believe even CCP has basically given up on their game given their inability to deliver non-monetization features at anything more than a trickle, or respond to clear and glaring balance issue in the economy. So I think highsec crime (and wars mechanics for that matter) is going to stay more-or-less as is for years more, if not for the entire remaining life of the game.

Ah well, this doesn't matter. As long as you are having fun keep playing the game. If you stop having fun for some reason as the OP seems to be dealing with, then move on. Voicing your ideas and opinions is fine, but looking at history the chance of seeing any movement on them in your Eve lifetime is very small. So don't hang on hoping things will change or because of how much effort you have already sunk into the game. Go find something that makes you happy.

Hisec balance, or lack thereof my dear boy....

I am still chuckling at the thought that every freighter with more than 1bn in the cargo will be escorted by four characters in Talos's ready and able to gank the Macherial bumper, kinda unlikely that....

I know, right? It makes no sense when you can just use a DST to move your higher-value goods in perfect safety like you and I do all the time.

I guess all these other options other than escorting your freighter is why CCP lost interest in implementing the bumping timer citing the fact that no one seemed to care very much. Makes sense, as losing a freighter is really only something that happens to the ignorant or complacent (and rarely, the very unlucky), and as you have acknowledged in the past most freighters are lost by industrialists and incursion runners who become so rich in the ultra-safe environment of highsec, they barely notice the dip in their net worth. Anyone who spends any time looking at the problem will find an alternative way to move 5B safely around highsec other than shoving it into a single freighter and bringing a combat escort to ward off the bumpers.

Escorting a freighter... makes me laugh too.

To be sure, I am aware of the risk/reward dynamic. Back in my Hi-sec days I was occasionally lazy and may have auto-piloted myself. However following such protocols meant no one ever ganked me while auto-piloting except Concord (That was how I learned about illegal drugs). The thing is I have recently seen killmails of freighters with 10Bn and 29Bn, surely for so much a gank could have been anticipated and a couple of friendly Machs to bump the bumper or target breaker Scorpions to survive the gank could have protected them? I have seen such convoys before.

The point I am trying to make is that there is always a way to fight back, so why the salt? I someone loses something valuable due to laziness then they have no one else to blame.
