Dear students and masters of the New Eden, we are currently investigating the issue, and we will surely look into SP loss reimbursement as soon as we spot the culprit and get everyone's training back on track. Please accept our sincere apologies and let us know if any other training issues arise, apart from the queue pausing.

Thank you very much for the response, its very much appreciated. Just to clarify - if you guys look into a reimbursement and approve it, would it be done automatically or users would have to send a support ticket and request a reimbursement?

At this stage, unfortunately, I can't confirm how we will proceed, but in any case please submit a ticket. Too much data is never too bad:) And, of course, keep an eye on the forum and the news.

I just canceled 19 accounts, so CCP lost $2,508 per year until they reimburse this. They better think a little more about the kind of behind the scenes stuff they do and how it effects (affects? I'm and engineer) paying customers before they do this kind of crap.

it's the principle, sad some people don't get it
people pay subscription for 30 days a month, not 29, and getting screwed on your own money is one of the worst you can get on these games
not reimbursing ALL lost skill points will lead to more people leaving the game, which eve can't really afford right now, buy hey, with the latest changes in the game, eve going the way wow went years ago(greed way), i wouldn't be surprised we wouldn't get anything back
imagine those who don't log in days or weeks, losing all the training
also, gotta love how the launcher is filled and only used to promote own ****, make more money, or the in game announces to get more viewers for their lousy twitch show, god forbid they use them for something actually important like this

Will reinbursement take MCT into account? I cant even log in for a couple of days and accountS all paused.

We'll do our best to take all the affected characters into account, but if you are still missing any SP after the initial reimbursement, please update your original reimbursement ticket or submit a new one if you haven't done that yet, and our crew will help you out as soon as possible.

Just happened to me a few minutes ago, EveMon went nuts with the notifications. Thankfully, I'm still up despite it being the middle of the night.

"Tomahawks?"

"----in' A, right?"

"Trouble is, those things cost like a million and a half each."

"----, you pay me half that and I'll hump in some c4 and blow the ---- out of it my own damn self."

This is an off-the-cuff guess, but I'm betting a developer decided to code a quick check to see if an alpha clone was training an omega skill, and set it to pause the skill queue.

The developer decided to use one of the documented API calls (status of subscription) that got deprecated recently: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=520641&find=unread

And, thus since the API call returns the account as expired instead of giving an error....

We have this, where all accounts (Omega or Alpha) get paused.

I'm a jerk.  Get used to it.

But I thought they killed that years ago? Wasn't it done around a year or so before they added the que? Or has "Ghost training" taken on a new meaning and I just missed the memo? Big smile
Nevermind, I just read up on it, I see how this could be done. I just missed the memo. Big smile

Shame... Can I have your stuff? If you really were an engineer you would know that we do not live in a perfect world and that things do go wrong. CCP has actually owned up in the past and even implemented a system where they can return SP (they had to when they removed "Learing" skills). So un-bunch your panties and pull them back up and just have a bit of ******* patience.

People these days have no patience, everything has to happen "NOW! My impatience/entitlement demands it!"... ffs.

On a more educational note;

  • affects = The event affects you.
  • effects = The que pausing was an effect of something unknown..

So the correct use in your sentence should have been "affects". Mr/Ms "Engineer"

I'll be more enthusiastic about encouraging thinking outside the box when there's evidence of any thinking going on inside it.

CCP has consistently reimbursed SP for mistakes like this in the past. In the past, when they have reimbursed SP, they have generally done it for all active accounts, even if the account wasn't affected by the issue.

But don't let me stop you from finding the door.

This sounds like a good opportunity to unveil the new Blood Raider t2 shuttle, complete with its very own Corpse bay and corpse tractor beam so that people who self-destruct pods or cancel accounts in protest can be .... uhm .... harvested by those of us that will continue to play.

Follow these steps and all will be well.

Step 1: Phone CCP Falcon
Step 2: Tell him to go to pets at home
Step 3: Grab some hamster food
Step 4: Get on the tube (which are 24 hours now)
Step 5: Walk into the server room
Step 6: Feed the damn hamsters!

Skill training queue fixed. Everyone is happy again.

Good news from the hard-working devs: the issue should be fixed and no accounts should be affected from now on. Please let us know if your training queue is paused on its own after 7:30 a.m. UTC.

Edit: this did not include restarting the affected queues yet, please check back later for more updates.

Good stuff CCP, as always! Cool

Do we need to submit a reimbursement ticket or will the missing skill point be applied at down time?
